Broncos vs Dolphins Week 3 2023, in my opinion, is one of if not THE most disappointing NFL games in it's long history. I'd love to know your thoughts and consider subscribing if this is your cup of tea.
I was in Green Bay at the packers game while this game was happening. When the final score appeared on the in-stadium scoreboard, a lot of the people around me thought the board was broken. Absolutely insane.
Uhhh. The ending was actually awesome. You failed to bring up Mike McDaniels going for the head coach job ant Denver. They wouldnt even interview him. Then Sean Peyton throws shade at him. They then went on to slaughter them. The fact they could have scored and didnt is actually more of a slap in the face to Denver and Sean Peyton. You down played it hard.
@pignoob9551 Sean Peyton threw shade at Tua not Mike. Forgot to say Tua. Last season Sean kept roasting Tua and saying he should be replaced for Teddy and had whole thing essentially saying he should be a back up. This game was a revenge tour for Tua and Mike. This video forgot to even mention it and to me, dilutes the quality
@@pignoob9551 This happened during his time outside of coaching, specifically last year, after week 1 was in the books. It wasn't really a slight towards McDaniel, though; it was criticism against Tua specifically, saying that he expected to see Bridgewater overtake him on the depth chart. It's worth noting for context as well that Bridgewater used to play reserve behind Brees in New Orleans, so Payton is very familiar with him. Quote: "They played well [to start the 2022 season] with Tua, but Teddy Bridgewater, who I’ve had before [in New Orleans], he’s an outstanding player. And I think that’s one of the unique things about this year - I counted eight teams where I believe we’re going to see multiple quarterbacks play. Not relative to injury, but just a controversy, if you will."
As a fan of the Dolphins for 3 decades now I can say disappointment was the furthest feeling from my mind. We have been a dumpster fire since the Marino days, a joke no one took seriously, and it was this game where I got to watch my team be the ones to put the whole NFL on notice. The extra context of Dolphins fans being on the struggle bus, not seeing the super bowl since Marinos second year, rarely making the playoffs and having to watch a team in our division dominate for years, and finally becoming a team where if you sleep on us we can run the score up is something I've never seen, quite literally a lifetime if not more to see a moment like that.
If the Broncos make the playoffs, than they fixed whatever meltdown was occurring during the Miami game. The Broncos aren't the greatest, but they aren't 70 points bad. I don't care if you have the best team playing the worst, that score was something else beyond Miami being better than Denver.
I'm surprised, honestly. I thought this game was going to break the Broncos. Says a lot about Sean Payton as a coach to keep it together and have success after that.
@@David-id2ks people were too quick to write of Payton cause of the game, same with Belichick this season. These guys have more than payed their dues for respect in this league.
It's wild seeing the Broncos having a shot to take the AFC West after the disaster start of the season. After Mahomes losing his marbles like a spoiled brat yesterday, I hope the Broncos find a way to take the West.
Australian view - I find it really weird when I read stories about US sport where a team is accused of being unsportsmanlike because they "run up the score". Scoring is literally the object of the game! If we go to watch our team, and they are winning by a big margin, we are disappointed if they "put the cue in the rack" and cruise to a comfortable victory. We want them to make hay while the sun shines and pile on the score! (But also not carry on celebrating each score as if it is a special achievement when we can see that it's actually all become a bit easy for them.)
at that point it's not even a case of bad sportsmanship. they have a legitimate chance of an insane record. (kind of like going for a no-hitter/perfect game in baseball) the best argument would be avoiding injuries, which is fair
As a Dolphins fan, and someone who had De'von Achane and Jason Sanders on my fantasy team this was a great game but still wished they went for the field goal at the end to take the total points lead and give Sanders some more fantasy points
When I saw the "Most Disappointing Game" headline, I thought you were going to talk about the Chargers vs Patriots game. Holy shit, was that a snoozefest Edit: didn't see the thumbnail, just the title lol
Denver: Lets hire hacket since he has a good offensive mind and not really interview a guy who used to be a ball boy for us. Mcdaniel is not our guy, he would probably be a worse coach than Vic Fangio was for us. Miami: We took that personally
"steuggling quarterback Tua" -- he wasn't struggling that second year, he was average. Miami's first two games were impressive at the time, but the perspective on them has changed the way things have gone for the Chargers and Patriots.
MY INITIAL REACTION WAS PURE JOY AND A FEELING OF JUBILATION AND SATISFACTION I WAS ACTUALLY FLOATING AROUND ON A CLOUD OF JOY THAT I HAD FOR MY DOLPHINS, SO LET'S GO MIAMI!! PHINS UP!!🌊🐬🐬🐧🐆🐬🐬🐬⬆️⬆️
That Miami team that played the Broncos is twice as good now, they look insanely scary and are rocking one of the best defenses now with Ramsey back. But I do agree with the knee, as cool as it would have been to take the record, none of that matters in the playoffs. Great video though.
So few people seem to realize this. Actually Miami lost Connor Williams near the end of this game... and also had Armstead go down at the start of the Bills game, so their O-line was completely different for the next 5-6 games. Also, no Ramsey for the first half of the season. With Ramsey and Xavien Howard, they have been shutting teams down. If this team is healthy in the playoffs, nobody will beat them. Ravens, 49ers and Eagles are the only teams that I'd give much of a chance.
As a lifelong Miami fan..... no you wouldn't, because you just sat through 3 hours of the most enjoyable football you've watched in probably 30 years, and you know that you finally have hope of winning a Super Bowl for the first time in almost 30 years. So..... definitely not mad... ecstatic was the actual feeling at the end of this game. I immediately watched the entire game again on replay. Not sure how out of touch with reality you would have to be to think a Miami fan was mad after watching this game.
@@cnelsonlv99exactly. It was a bit annoying but I don't think any normal Miami fan has thought much about since. Other teams seem to care more, which is bizarre.
@@cnelsonlv99 Not mad in general just about that play. I believe you that the joy of winning this game would be greater than the disappointment of that last play lol
I’m not familiar with this channel, but he doesn’t seem to know much about Miami. That win at the time was very impressive. Plus, he didn’t mention any of the dolphins key injuries that game, along with mispronouncing Tua’s name and calling the coach “McDaniels”.
@@kgthakid2911 when second stringers can come in and put up yards and points, that's very impressive. That rarely happens in a preseason game. ALMOST EVERYONE is trying to find any reason to discredit these men because of who they've played; it pisses me off because 99% of us (spectators to "analyst and former players) couldn't even do at least half of what they have. Even in their losses they were impressive. . . None the less, VERY disappointing 🤷
@@damedan9389 couldn’t agree more. If I’m not mistaken, Miami’s strength of schedule was #8 preseason (LAC and NYG were playoff teams last year). The Dolphins can’t control those teams underachieving. You play who’s on your schedule, that’s it, and they lost to 3 good teams, all on the road. It’s an easy, lazy narrative to fall back on, and people like easy and lazy.
Wasn’t disappointing to me. No one hurt and a win for the ages for us Dolphins fans of 50 years. I didn’t even mind the kneel down at the end for karma reasons tho it didn’t help the following week.
i dont get it, as a dolphins fan i watched that entire game and was so shocked to see the dolphins put up 70pts. I walked away the most happy man alive
The Jets v Bills is the most disappointing game ever. Bills lost on a punt return and the Jets lost on the first drive when Rodgers achilles exploded. I’m a Dolphins fan and I was disappointed
In 2000, watching the Baltimore Ravens legendary defense absolutely mirth the Broncos in the playoffs that year, I prayed to God that just once in my lifetime, I could watch a Broncos defense that was nasty and terrifying like that Ravens defense. A defense so deep and talented it could just run a Base defense that would dog-walk to a win in a Super Bowl game with relative ease. If I could get that, I would never-never complain about any Broncos play again. Taking his sweet-@ss time for 15 years, God finally got as close to answering that prayer as the modern game will allow with the legendary 2015 Broncos defense. There was, simply put, a point in every game where you could just see the other team quit, cry uncle, and tap out. They ended Andrew Luck's career and nearly his life, and they gave Teddy Check Down a nice little nap. They faced Big Ben, Brady and MVP Super Cam in the playoffs and averaged giving up 12.3 points per game (and that was with an offense that couldn't find a First Down with a road map). Seeing a 70 steamer on the Broncos is my penance for all of that, Fellas. This one is on me. But, I can't complain. The Big Guy upstairs really came through for me and gave me my one Broncos wish. I'll take it.
How did the idea that 70 points is the most points scored in a game keep getting perpetuated? 1940 Championship game, the Bears won 73-0 over Washington. A field goal here at the end of the game would have tied the record.
Generally the NFL considers the merger to be the official starting point where records are recorded, because the previous era was much less competitive... as that score strongly suggests, given that it happened in the championship game.
It was Hot. I grew up in South florida, and spent 10 years in denver.... They never stood a chance....it wasn't the first time the broncos melted in miami....
The Dolphins was working karma. The Eagles showed the same respect when they were dominating the Phins. They took a knee when they could've driven for another score.
I'm a Dolphins fan that was moving over 600 miles away that day. The first thing I see when I arrived that day was a text that sadi how crazy the score was
Our former ball boy couldnt do it to us.. he knew where he came from and thankfully didnt send out the field goal unit. I dont think we couldve had the turnaround that we did if they had actually set the record.
I really disagree with you on how this game ended. This is still the highest scored game in MODERN NFL history, meaning since the Superbowl era. To me, that matters enough already.
Yeah I’m sorry but the broncos have 3 super bowls in my 3 decades as a Dolphins fan. That win meant wayyyy more to us than the “poor us” feelings of broncos fans. And for 90% of NFL fans (except Broncos fan’s of course), that game was thoroughly enjoyable. It’s stupid your putting your own feelings in everyone’s else’s mouths, so let me do the same 🙏🏼
The most disappointing thing about this game is not kicking the field goal at the end and getting the scoring title. You would think a team that hasn't won a playoff game in 24 years would give it's fans anything it could, instead they pulled a Dolphins move and came up short by decision. The Dolphins are the Timberwolves of the NFL.
As a Bronco fan, it was the worst football game I’d ever seen. I didn’t even care when they won against the Bears and Packers. But now they’ve fully turned it around. The Miami ass-kicking was actually what this team needed, I think. They’ve woken up and it’s been so much fun to watch. As I write this, they sit one game back of KC after a win today!
The broader context here is that officiating has determined the outcome of a ridiculous amount of games (especially prime time, nationally televised games) this year. And most of those calls have been questionable at best. So now, even with something like this, it feels like a continuation of that. But to be fair to mahomes, nobody would’ve caused an uproar with that NOT being called as it had no impact on the play itself, had we even noticed it at all
I don't know, as much as I kind of wanted to take the 3 points as a Dolphins fan...I really commend McDaniel for the sportsmanship to take a knee, rather than trot out the field goal unit for something entirely pointless. The goal was achieved; Miami put the NFL on notice with a game that will still stand currently as the most points scored during this modern era of parity. To win by 50 points in today's NFL also isn't something that people just forget, even if the Dolphins can't quite put everything together with a deep playoff run this year. Admittedly, I don't expect Super Bowl or much that's even close to that; the Dolphins have shown tons of promise, but also tons of inconsistency, especially in the biggest games on the road. Even in securing that #1 seed, I haven't seen the Dolphins find their second gear yet, something a lot of the better teams start bringing out, come playoff time. Still, even winning the division and getting into the playoffs for a second straight year will be a major success for a team that is only just figuring out how to sustain success. They are good, still not great, but trending in the right direction. As a fan who only started being interested in football in the mid-2000s, that is all I can ask for at this point with a team that has been the butt of plenty of jokes before now.
As a Broncos fan, i was rooting for the record. Why not? We've already hit rock bottom, lets see how much further down we can go. That was my mentality by the end of the game
I’m a Broncos fan living in south Florida working my third 12 hour shift in a row while my boss was at this game. But he got me a Broncos hat while he was at the game so it’s no worries
As any coach will tell you in a situation like this, "The bad news is, that we got embarrassed. The good news-if you can glean any good news in such a debacle-is, it's just one game."
I no longer feel bad for Brandon Perna after what his wheel did to my top two favorite teams (Jags and Eagles). That makes me hope the Broncos fall apart and miss the playoffs
they have come back strong, if it wasn't for a bitter close defeat to the Texans, they'd be right in the playoff hunt now and are still looking strong for a playoff spot if they can hold on and keep winning.
In the lore of the Denver Broncos this could be a pivotal moment. Hitting absolute rock bottom and then bouncing back to a potential playoff appearance. If this is what plays out, it might be one of the most story book things in the modern NFL.
Raiders vs Vikings this week has dethroned this game as the most disappointing. How does neither offense score a single point until after the 2 min warning. Shit was like watching a loop of a turd floating in a toilet bowl. Hell that might have been more entertaining. At least with this game it was an endless scorefest
Disappointing? I don't know, I was kind of satisfied with the results of the game. It was really entertaining, anyway. I guess it depends on who you are.
If there’s one coach in the NFL that no one, and I mean absolutely no one, would feel bad about putting the all-time record of 73 on, it’d be Sean Payton. What a golden opportunity missed. It’d be one thing to show mercy to a respectable coach who is simply out of his league, like a Marinelli, Spagnuolo, Crennel, etc. but to drop 73 on the Bountygate guy would have been so poetic. Oh well.
As a Dolphins fan since 1970, this game was more exciting than all but a handful over the last 53 years. 1) I'd have to put the SB win to cap the 1972 Perfect Season at the top. 2) Second would be the win to cap off back-to back Super Bowls in 1973. 3) Third would probably be the NFL's longest game, when the Fins Beat KC 27-24 on Christmas Day, 1971. The game lasted more than 82 min. To round out my top 5, I'd have to rank the 50pt win over the Broncos T4 with the 52pt win over the Patsies in Nov 1972, 52-0, for Coach Shula's 100th win. It's hard to pick one of those over the other. Either way, great game! 6) As a bonus, the 41-38 OT loss to SD in the 1982 playoffs. Has to rank high as an exciting game. The Fins were down 24-0 in Q1, but came charging back with 17 in Q2. The teams were tied after Q3. Miami took a 7pt lead, but SD scored late to force OT. Miami lost, but as one announcer said, "Neither team should have lost this game."
Oh, and I had an end zone seat in the 52-0 game. As I recall, most of the points were scored in that end zone. 😀 * Correction: the San Diego-Miami game was in Jan 1982, but in the 1981 season.
Since they didn’t go for the record, this wasn’t even that awful for the Broncos. When you’re at the bottom, the only way is up and that’s what has happened to the Broncos. It broke down any offense vs defense animosity and probably gave them a bit of an us against the world attitude. There was no one that could say we played good but those guys lost the game for us. They’re more of a “team” than they’ve been in a few years.
I promised for years to take my grandpa to a dolphins home opener, I was finally able to make good on that promise this season. Little did I know I was taking him to see our team decimate the broncos 😂😂
I think it was less about running up the score and more about McDaniel not wanting to have a field goal on the score😂 who wants to end the game with a field goal when you just scored 10 touchdowns?
