We were told in the U.S. by international scientific agencies in 1970 that a human population above 6 billion would result in Habitat Loss, exacerbate Climate Change and expose human beings to viral cross-species infections....and here we are on our way to 8 billion. So much for "planning ahead", eh?

Well that's because there isn't much better a way to spread a seed than to fire it out. Both a man busting and a plant doing this is a because evolutionarily, the method of reproduction for both species has developed to maximise the likeliness of the species continuing and thriving which is why they seem so similar.

fun fact: pea pods used to explode as well, but humans purposefully started cultivating peas that developed a genetic mutation that prevented them from bursting.
