My tempered glass “wall” in shower area randomly decided to explode this evening. While my handicap Father was beyond terrified, first instincts of gun shots had rang through our home, obv wasn’t the case. Saw the damage, we are honestly in awe as to what happened. Can you point us into the right direction to get this rectified?, it’s a horrific mess tbh. Thank you for any guidance and support!
I’ve been in the glass business for 20 years and this dude talking is hilarious. The plastic in between the metal hardware starts to deteriorate from the hard water and once that plastic is deteriorated, it is then metal on glass. Metal on tempered glass will make it pop easily.
“As to how often it happens, this guy has seen it happen 35 times” is a completely useless statement, that doesn’t speak to how often. If he’s installed 1,000 doors it’s 3.5% 10,000 doors it’s 0.35% Etc
Yup... It happens. Had one let go myself. Had I not been there with the entire family in a different room I would not have believed it. 1:30 Somebody is getting taken for a ride. $500 panel... but 3-4k for installation? At any rate that is what insurance is for.
