How to use the Explore One 4K Action Camera with built-in Wifi. In this video, I will be reviewing and testing out the newer version of the Explore One Action Camera that you can find at Costco.
The Explore One Action Camera has a recording time of 45 minutes at a resolution of 1080p.
This newer version of the Explore One Action Camera comes with 4K and 2.7K recording. It also comes with lots of accessories, including a waterproof case, helmet straps, a bike and pole mount, a tripod and this package also includes a selfie stick - BONUS!

Enjoyed the video. I bought mine before Covid because the price was hard to pass up and used it a couple times. I found it during spring cleaning and want to use it during bike rides and sparkling outings. Your video made me realized that it has WiFi. Will test it and probably upgrade. Thanks!!!

Thank you for the detailed review! I have similar connection issues to the tripod with the waterproof case. The brass screw within the adhesive mount just came out. Looking closely at the built, after you attach the quick release buckle, there isn't enough space for the screw to go inside. Which is why the brass insert just pops out everytime. Not a good build in my opinion. Not happy, with be returning!

Yes connection is loose for the water proof case to selfie stick. The brass insert on mine actually came right out of the quick connect base. I'm going to try and super glue it back in place.

Thank you very much for the video! I like your way you review the items that I might buy that are on sale now so I see a lot of random videos & styles, what I really like is that you show the Manuel, the previous models & visually show them for excellent compare & contrast & show all the flaws which most don't do! Very interesting information also this can apply to the "HEAD HD 1080p Action Camera," which is the same! but worse & maybe more expensive for the re-branding. Background info on HEAD, they are a tennis company that make sports equipment & I rarely see them make electronics & this may be the 1st. So net time you can mention it in your next video :) also it doesn't mention 4k or even 2.8k? 32GB max sd card storage (card is sold separate) & comes with 5 different mounts & that's pretty much it. it was being sold for 5941.92 Rupees but now its 2970.96 Rupees

Great job and thanks for the review! I'm new to this sort of camera so I have a few questions. With the wifi connection does it allow you to start and stop video recording? I'm only asking as I'd like to purchase to record my sons at bats during a baseball game. Will this work for that purpose? Thanks for you assistance and a great review!

Thanks for the comment. Yes, you can start and stop. I'm assuming you'll have access to a wifi connection since you will need to keep the camera within close range of your smartphone. Each time you start and stop recording it will save it as a clip in the video tab of the app. Hope it helps.

CONNECT TO PC Connect the Action camera to a computer via the Micro USB to USB cable (Insert the Micro USB end into the Action Camera and then plug USB end into the computer) and turn on the Action Camera. 3 modes will be displayed: USB Mode, PC Camera & Charging Mode. You need press OK when you use to usb when boot up

I needed this camera to record video during long bicycle rides. Short battery life (1.5 hours) meant stopping to recharge the battery. To make that process easier, I made a hole in the waterproof case just big enough to fit the USB charger plug through to the camera. Carrying a USB battery and charger cord, I can easily stop for a rest, pull the gorilla tape away from 'the hole' and recharge the camera while I have a snack, make a phone call, whatever. Using a recording video camera on a bicycle ride may be valuable for things hitting you, such as cars, trucks, buses, dogs, etc.

Hello, I have a problem with that same type of Explore One camera. And it is that suddenly one day the camera no longer wanted to record. It only lasts like 2 min recording and then it turns off and says it has no battery. But I leave it charging for a long time and even so it only records 2 minutes and the battery runs out. Any solution???. Thanks

Thank you for the video. The screw insert keeps coming out of my flat base mount in my Explore One 4K Action Camera. Any suggestions to troubleshoot this so I can attach the tripod?

Yes, that seems to be a common problem with most. Based on others' comments, they have used superglue to fix the screw insert to the base mount to stop it from coming out, I'm yet to try it. Hopefully it works for you.

When you put the selfie stick with the protective case of the camera, it gets very loose and faces downward a bit so I think everyone has the same problem.

You can use it as a webcam, what you have to do is plug it in your computer, then turn the camera on by pressing the ok and power button on at the same time, then you will have the options to do anything. I was alos trying it out, the recording is a bit laggy tho

Try another outlet or try charging with a computer if you have access to one with a USB connection. If they still don't work, it's possibly faulty, try to exchange it.

I enjoyed your detailed info how to set up, but there is nothing possible to connect the wifi! I have tried all combinations possible by the book & some , it simply will not connect. Besides, when I do a connection process, this wants to be my present wifi server so it doesn't even make sense & the end result is internet not available.. Dah !!

I bought this specifically to use to record videos on the selfie stick under water to analyze my swimming. But the loose connection to the waterproof is super annoying and frustrating. Borderline makes it useless for me. If anyone has any fixes or heard of the manufacturer addressing this issue please let me know. Thx.

Yes, you're right. There is an issue with the selfie stick attaching to the waterproof case. The brass insert hasn't been fixed properly into base mount therefore pops out. If you want to really use it with the waterproof case, then try per @For2went's suggestion to superglue it it in. Let it completely dry before trying to add the selfie stick.

You can't take a picture with the selfie stick itself. You will need to connect to wifi then take the picture from your smartphone.

There is little issue with the waterproof case falling of the selfie stick because the brass insert keeps coming out. Using superglue should help keep it in then screw the selfie stick into it.

in general setting on screen 1, select volume and then increase it to max level 10 using the side buttons. Just to let you know, Sound will still be very low on the camera, but when you download onto smartphone or computer where the speakers are bigger, it will sound better.

I have set up the Wi-Fi on the camera following the instructions in the video and have downloaded the app on my iphone. Using bluetooth, it appears as though the camera is paired with my phone. But when I try using the app, the gear icon keeps turning on my phone and get an error message "ffmpeg error". Wondering what I'm doing wrong? Any advice? Thanks

That sounds like a scripting error message. Just to double check, there are different apps to use for different models: install the LIVE DV app for 4K version, shown in this video install GoPlus Cam app for 1080HD version - my earlier video from last year. Have you tried deleting, forgetting network and tried re-installing the app again?

Depends on the resolution that you are using, lower resolution more battery life. 1080P is supposed to last 45 minutes.

Best way would be to connect it to wifi on your phone and then use your phone to take the picture. I have a separate video on connecting wifi.

I just opened mine tonight. I attempted to turn it on several times. It would turn on, play it's little tune, show me a picture of an orange plug, and then turn off. After the fifth attempt, it stopped turning on at all. Really disappointing !!

It sounds like it needs charging. Charge it for a couple of hours and then try to turn it on. If it’s still doing it, then unfortunately it sounds defective.

How to get this camera to work as a webcam: TLDR: if you only need a webcam, this is NOT the right product for you. Getting it to act like a webcam is annoying. Before you start, turn on the camera as normal and turn off the auto power off feature then read the instructions in full. **Timing is very important** - Plug in the USB to your camera. - While the white screen with the ExploreOne logo is showing, hold down the OK and the side button with the wifi logo together for 2 seconds. - A menu will appear. Immediately push the power button twice. Pushing the power button should interrupt the sound that plays. If you miss this step, you will see a menu for a split second but won't be able to change anything on it. - You'll see 3 options: MSDC, PC Cam, and Charging Mode and the middle one is PC Cam. - Using the buttons on the side, highlight the PC Cam option and push OK. - If you miss the white ExploreOne screen, unplug the USB cord and start over. A few other things to note: - The unit will not stay in webcam mode. If the USB cord got unplugged, I had to go through the steps again so it would work as a webcam. - If I restarted my computer (PC), the feed from the camera was so dark I couldn't use it. Had to restart it and go through the above steps.

How do you do anything with it?Mines a dud. Can’t even get the menu up or find my files. So frustrating. Won’t hold a charge either. Wasted $30 again. It’s my 3rd one and they’re all useless or defective.

When I try to charge camera out of the package first time, red and blue light below come on together and every 5 sec camera makes noise screen comes on, after that shows charging icon and turns of. This keep happening every 5 sec. Not sure is this way it supposed to be until battery is charged and will it happen every time I charge battery. It is so annoying. Thanks.

You must be talking about the selfie stick? Yeah, there does seem to be an issue with it staying in place when using it with the waterproof case. They didn't do a good job securing the brass ring for the screw into place, YOu can try to use super glue if it helps.

Garbage you get what you pay for.Had this on charge for 2 days would not turn on for more than 5 seconds. Pay the money and get a Go-Pro.

$30 vs $300, not everyone can afford a GoPro. It's actually not a bad camera for beginners. You probably had a defective one, I've had no issues with charging or battery life.

I opened my case with a little difficulty,got out the camera an put in the card and charged it, then set up the date, time, etc. The camera would not fit into the selfie stick holder faceplate. I looked at the attachment material... No directions, just the part list telling you what parts to use. I checked out these videos, connected the camera to the tripod, then tried to turn on the camera.. The camera would not turn on. Then I could not open the case hinge... it was a little difficult the first time, but now would not release at all. This has so many problems it is not worth keeping and will be returned.
