Riddim Ryder don't be scared to upset ppl I love the "what is up guys " if ppl dont like it then tough 😀keep doing you ! Great place glad it's been bought ,thank you 💕from UK
Well first someone owns this property , clearly it is not abandoned. It looks like the owner started renovation and has stopped for whatever reason . Just because a building is vacant doesn't mean it's abandoned or that the government is supposed to swoop in and take people's property for homeless vets.
Someone said this place has been bought. I hope they can make a go of this place. It looks like a nice place to stay. You can have a nice wedding receptions there, business banquets, etc. Nice view too.
I thought about the “Dirty Dancing” resort when I saw this too. It was filmed in Virginia, the state I live in. This happened to so many places like this. I guess now that flying is so much cheaper and vacation homes so much fancier, these older places became less appealing. Hopefully they can bring it back to life. Thanks for sharing.
I agree. Now it’s all about huge bathrooms and private pools. People don’t want to socialize on vacation. They would rather rent a 10 bedroom 11 bathroom beach cottage with a few other families and swim in their private pool and hot tub and game room. They built so many of the big houses at the beaches down here to get around no new hotel regulations and tore town the traditional cottages. They all look the same. No personality.
On top of that, nothing is built to last. We are such a wasteful society & I am sure by my videos you have noticed that. I appreciate you commenting as I do everyone because I do this to show what people, as a society are so willing to just throw away.
So true. And now that I am almost 52 I have seen the whole mall thing at its peak and at its ending. Homes and businesses go up, then just torn down 20 years later. Even the same clothes have come in and out of fashion several times. Old houses just discarded for building after building of condos. There was a lake we used to go swimming at called Moore’s Lake in Chester, VA. Look it up sometime. Loads of fun in the 50s through 70s. Closed by 90s. Now covered with apartments. Pretty sad. Change is ok. But did I ever think the mall would die? Did I foresee Amazon (which I have used for literally 20 years) take over empty Walmart’s? No can’t say I did. The true heartbreakers are things like the homes and resorts like you see here. But I also grew up in an old cold drafty house and was so happy to build a new home that had more than one bathroom and central heat and air. So I guess I can understand “progress” can be good. But you still can’t beat a house with some history and character. ❤️
Love the cottage resort vibe! Beautiful view... Sad to see it abandoned as it appears to be in fair condition. Seems perfect to be renovated as part artist/writers retreat. Have classes/workshops, do weekend or week long packages. The large rooms could be converted into studio type apartments if there is a need in this area. Think with the right vision it could be revived. There's definitely a tiny house, simple life trend that this resort could draw from.
Looks ready for business, perfect for Temporary Low Income Housing for people waiting for their final transition to their permanent apartment. Its safer than shelters, private and clean. Since no cooking would be allowed, I would have Meals On Wheels make the necessary deliveries, and they buy their meals outside as well. They have the choice to accept the free food given, if not to their liking, they can return it for something else. I want honesty, people should be comfortable and happy with their meals, I do not want anyone going hungry. Thank you for the video.💕
Such a shame when you see places just abandon left empty and they could all be used again and they’re so beautiful and amazing it really is a shame ❤️❤️❤️
Nice enough room if a person wanted a place to stay. Loosing the shingles will be the down fall of this place. Roof will start leaking and mildew and mold.
Well besides a little graffiti, the best thing is those who did the graffiti didnt break glass or destroy the insides of these little rooms must have been pretty cool to come stay for a week or two...!! Nice find...usually some destructive kids drinking and vandalizing gets to these places before someone who is wanting to show what things were like when it was up and running....nice job...!!
Seeing this, I imagined lots of family weekend getaways thru the years, car clubs staying there, honeymooners, people escaping life for some down time, fishing tournaments, and guys getting together for annual golf trips away from wives and kids to have a great time and let loose.
It still looks nice on the inside so somebody obviously definitely must be cleaning it and looking after it on the inside because it looks absolutely clean lovely xx
@Charles Barnett If you mean American Democrats, I don't think they have much to say about how the Canadian taxpayers money is spent, so that probably wouldn't be a problem.
Just came from Urbex Dave of Freaktography. His video was nothing short of hilarious. Now for something serious. The resort resembles a small town. However, it looks forlorn and empty, being devoid of any hustle and bustle of human activities. The main reception building is bigger if compared to the rest of the barrack style houses, which were built motel style, with rooms for guests. These houses were neatly built around the main building, probably for easy accessibility to guests. The area looks picturesque, though. Such a waste to have a beautiful place where, if properly managed and developed would be of great potential. Probably, the resort was not making money, the reason it was closed. Maybe, it has been put up for sale. Thanks Riddim Ryder.
Great stuff! Just sitting there, waiting to be occupied again! If interwebs research is "close", the sale was not to save this beautiful old resort, but get the land, to put up Ticky Tacky million dollar condo's! Too Bad!!! There's more possibilities for renovations just for the beautiful architecture::. Lakeside weddings, group/church/business/school retreats. So sad no one tries to think just outside the box; not crazy, just one step!
This is so cool. Lake view was just beautiful. Pretty decent condition. I hope that it can be reopened sometime. Glad the vandals haven't been there. Thank you for the tour and take care. Is this up north somewhere?
I completely agree that random finds of your own are the best.. Sometimes it's hard to find your own but when you get on a roll of finding some and especially ones as great as this it's always so worth it. Excellent job!
👏👏Awsome and very retro. We loved it and we just started following you thanks to Freaktography. Awesome work. Can’t wait to binge watch all your videos. 👍👍👍👊😎It’s a real shame that places like these are disappearing thanks to the big resorts etc. 👏👏👊😎
Definitely could be used for something. I don't understand how places like this one can't find someone willing to put in the time and money to fix it up. Sad just going to waist.
Hopefully the new owners can find an investor to restore this resort. Nice find. You mentioned large body of water. About where is it located. Just approximate...Thank you for the find and video
Greetings from Malaysia ! Sad to see such beautiful cottage resort with nice scenery left behind just like that. Love to watch all ur video Riddim 😃 keep moving forward for more nice videos 😉
It was sad to see these beautiful places just go to waste how does this happen I wish there were more backstory😕 and where is this located maybe I missed it?
You know you could be a great Advertiser for property for big investors who want to come in and refurbish rebuild this place would make great money, whoever owned it before must have been a very bad Advertiser. This is actually a very beautiful place and each of those little rooms would be awesome little mini vacation away from The Real World. when I see these abandoned places I think to myself if I was homeless and knew where this was at I wouldn't be homeless for very long LOL
Hi Riddim, where were you? State ? I don't know how you and other people who do the same thing as you find these places!! Did you ever get any information on that resort? It doesn't look like it had been abondened too long . I don't understand how people just get up and leave something like that? Was the resort out of the way that maybe why it closed up ?
Auberge Du Faubourg. 280 De Gaspe Ave W, Saint Jean Port Joli, Quebec. Was a Spa resort/motel that appears to have closed due to bankruptcy in 2017, was recently purchased by a group of locals in June 2019 who wish to sell to someone with the goal of having it operated again as a resort.
What a great find! The views are spectacular!! Is it just me or do the rooms look clean?? Maybe the camera isn't picking up all the dirt and dust. I know my house looks dirtier than anything there! Lol...Hopefully they will open this place back up and not let nature take it back. Thanks once again for sharing. I love your videos!!😊❤
Despite how desolate it looks, there were MANY active houses around the grounds...and why risk a charge greater than trespassing. In Quebec it could be classified as burglary which equals a court date and many follow ups but have to respect the property. Regardless how "abandoned" a place is, someone still owns it.
@@RiddimRyder the reward is worth the risk my friend. What is the punishment for trespass there, you knows theres places u get shot for trespass lol I'm not necessarily talking about smashing windows but maybe some of those old doors would open with a good kick or pull you never know
@@stepitup89 I get what you're saying but I have friends in this region that have had MAJOR issue when "bending" the law. I gotta focus on me and my future and a potential felony would limit my urbex outside of this country. Don't worry...I got so much more epic shit to share. Appreciate your support!!!
Well that's just sad having to go bankrupt. This might have been a person's life dream to operate this property. Since it was in such a remote area maybe not enough nightlife around there or not enough people to rent all these units on a steady basis?
