We did two cave tours at Mammoth Cave National Park and want to get back to do even more. Plus, there are hiking trails to check out, and the park is in a good location to find more fun things to do in Kentucky and Tennessee.
If you're looking to check off another national park, we recommend heading to Mammoth Cave National Park and heading down into its more than 400 miles (!) of caves.

It can be great at any time and in any weather. Of course, in the summer, you'll need to plan ahead more to deal with the crowds! GO LIONS!!

Looks fun! We had quite the opposite adventure at Mammoth Cave National Park. We unexpectedly went in the summer, and all of the caves were booked; so we enjoyed the outside trails. A bonus is that all of their above ground trails are dog friendly. ☺️ That would be so fun to check out multiple trails!

We assumed it would be packed in the summer and the need to book well in advance for cave tours would be even bigger. Staying for some time there might open up more options for people to squeeze in multiple cave tours, too. Good tip about the trails being dog friendly. @@Trekers Yes, it definitely helps if you actually plan a trip there! 😜 We had reservations booked in the Ozarks, but ended up heading that way instead because we were trying to get away from a potential tornado. 🌪️ 😳
