Great job! Awesome footage! Its so funny hoe everyone has their own experience. We live in Quintana Roo part of the year....and I would have totally numbered these places differently! But I still love them all. Our favorite ruins are Coba for sure. Our number one is Cozumel, but we are divers. Holbox def takes the cake for the best thing we have eaten on the entire Peninsula. Go to Mandarinas and have the Huatiloche Brioche'....thank me later. (it will change your LIFE). Also Roots for the best Pizza. BTW....its pronounced Quintana Roo*, as in Roh, or Row. Many thanks for this video! Nice content, and looks rather unedited (or at least not too much) which is great. This video helped me decide to include Holbox to my upcoming trip in december :-) Your other videos about Mexico are also really helpful! Do you think it's a must to include Isla Mujeres, next to Holbox and Cozumel (for snorkeling/diving)? We only have 16 days :D
@worldwildhearts

Thanks for your comment! We always want to keep our travel videos real and show how it really looks so no colour grading involved! If you only have 16 days, we would suggest leaving Isla Mujeres out and spending some extra time on Holbox or Cozumel instead! 😁 Isla Mujeres is beautiful but nothing compared to Holbox!

Great vid! I'm going to this region for the first time this December. I had Merida in my list but after watching this I'm debating replacing it with Isla Holbox, which wasn't on my list haha. Also, do some cenotes enforce life jackets? Or did you guys just choose to wear it for the cenote you filmed near Valladolid?
@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts Год назад
Haha that’s awesome! Merida is a great city too. But you can easily explore it in a day or two. And yes some cenotes do enforce the life jackets unfortunately… but the best ones are near Valladolid and Merida and there’s a number there that don’t require it!

@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts Год назад
Thanks! Tulum has gotten super expensive in the last years (especially after Covid. prices for cenotes have doubled in the area around Tulum, but it’s still affordable compared to Europe and North America. Expect to pay 20€ per person to enter popular cenotes! You probably can’t find any prices online because it has changed like 5 times over the year 🥲. Merida, on the other hand, is very affordable… accommodation, food, everything is cheaper here than Tulum. There are also some cool cenotes nearby Merida, less popular but cheaper. I’d say you can easily get by 50€ per day in Merida (including accommodation), but it would be harder in Tulum. Also really depends on the season you’re travelling!

Sweet, cool video. They seem to be pretty hardcore on face masks though... even out in huge outdoor areas, is it mandatory everywhere outside in Quintana Roo or even Mexico?
@worldwildhearts

When we were there, facemasks were advised, especially at the archeological sites and cities where there were lots of people around. We were there back in March / April when things were a bit more strict though. When we were outdoors and there was not many people, then it was not necessary to wear it

It’s possible but not the easiest! Knowing Spanish makes it easier as many people don’t speak English. However, you could always download the offline google translate and that would help 😄 the more touristic places have more English speakers of course. The best way to get between places is by tourist bus, the ADO! It drives all across the Yucatan and is very easy and safe! 😄

Which places would you recommend for a 7-10 day trip?
@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts 2 года назад
For 7-10 days, we recommend flying into Cancun, then going to Isla Mujeres, then Tulum, then Valladolid / Chichen Itza, and then back to Cancun to fly out. That way, you get a mix of everything (cenotes, beaches, ruins, and culture). For that route, you would likely need to rent a car after Isla Mujeres to make it a comfortable trip on your own time schedule

We found the Yucatan peninsula to be very safe in general. We were there about a year ago. We have heard news of Tulum becoming a little less safe in the last year due to drug issues, but not sure on the extent of how far that has gone.

We found it to be very safe! The locals were friendly and helpful throughout the Yucatan 👍 just make sure to use your common sense and always ask locals questions / advice if you are unsure of a situation

Hello great video. Did you know that Rose McGowan lives out there somewhere? Can you tell me how you got to that place? I am Charlie 63 lived in Vietnam for 14 years but not back in Texas looking to find a easy place to live that is very safe and affordable? Thank You 🙏 Charles.

The Yucatan Peninsula seemed safe to us overall. Many Americans live in the areas of Playa Del Carmen / Cancun. For getting around to the destinations, we usually rented a car which was pretty affordable

So you 2 are only on holiday but not sure of cost of living?
@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts 2 года назад
We were there for about 2 and a half months and lived in Playa Del Carmen during that time for the most part. Then traveled for long weekends sometimes to the other destinations around. Overall, cost of living in Playa Del Carmen was very cheap compared to the US. You could get a decent dinner for about $5-$10 and food at the grocery store / rent was also relatively cheap. Out of the places in our video, valladolid is probably the cheapest to live overall.

@@worldwildhearts what about Rents? Thank You
@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts 2 года назад
@@charlesscinta7377 for rent, we paid about $700 for a studio on the edge of downtown Playa Del Carmen. For the quality of the place, it was a good deal. I think you can also find much cheaper spots if you are ok living a little bit outside of the cities

Yucatan is derived from Yoktan, here: *SHEM* (Asia/Americas): *ARPAXSHAD* (Chaldeans- Irakis)> ☆Eber☆》 *Yoktan*(east Asian orientals): Almodad(?) Sheleph(?) Hazarmaveth(Hadramauts- south Arabians) Jerah(?) Hadoram(?) Uzal(Turkic peoples) Diklah(?) Obal(?) Abimael(?) Sheba(Indians) Ophir(Sri Lankas/Tamils- south indians) Havila(Indians) Yobab(?) this video talks about the Yucatan PENINSULA not the Yucatan STATE. The Pensinsula does encompass 3 different Mexican States: Yucatán, Quintana Roo and Campeche. All places mentioned here are within those states.

Something to mention is that every time someone put a church in a video as an attraction is just very painful for many Mexicans, as you know the church have and still doing so much harmful ugly things to my people and Spain used the church to enslave my ancestors, so please be aware and respect.
@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts Год назад
We definitely are aware of that! Many of the guided tours we booked though take you to these churches because of the history
