The only ones that would end up repeating this fact of membership would be those making themselves opposers of the two witnesses ( Rev 11) Such ones fulfill rev 14:9,10 then by repetition of and spreading said faith destroying information. In fact..unless they joined the UN..Prophecy could not be fulfilled !!

Going forward..the lens of rev 16:13&14 helps enable seeing long distance ..rev 11:6 is close up..we who have been made to suffer those plagues

WT apologists like to explain away WTs NGO status with the UN as necessary in order to gain access to the library. Not true. What you just posted here backs that up. WT was _already_ using the library prior to 1991, so there was no reason to join the UN as an NGO. Besides, considering how WT has viewed the UN for decades, it doesn't matter if the UN had the greatest library in the world. That fact could never justify joining the UN to use the library, even if that was true.

They have always used non Jw sources like british enclopidia(leksicon) jewwis sites artikels a statements from expert supporting their understanding of the scriptures. But also recognice that humans understand in bit,s and peaces and they adjust the understanding when the light on subject area increse. Like Jesus said it would in the last days or end times.

According to WT, Jesus would return and 3.5 years later would inspect the earth for his true servants. If he returned in 1874, that time had passed. Another claim of WT is that the Bible Students were the only ones on earth anticipating Jesus' return in 1914, so of course he would choose WT as the true religion. That's a big lie! No Bible Student/JW was looking for Jesus' return in 1914, because they all believed he had returned 40 years earlier.

I think there may have been money involved. Also, there would have been advantages to getting missionaries into some countries. The end does not justify the means.

In this respect, the Governing Body forces its members to ignore their lies in order to remain "in the truth" und thus continue to enjoy the favor of the Governing Body.
