Jehovah’s Witnesses Say it is Wrong to Worship Jesus, but Are Happy to Worship Men 

What a gem!! This is what I expect when someone says they are giving bible lessons. First time I am hearing that there are four kinds of worship, which clarify so many questions.

I never comment.. but I truly appreciate the time and effort u are dedicating to assist and validate those of us that no longer go to the hall but are truly in love with Jehovah , Jesus and the study of the Bible. We do exist.

The father said to worship JESUS. HEBREWS 1:6. (KJV BIBLE). (NIV BIBLE). (NAS BIBLE). (AVB BIBLE). Worship the lamb(JESUS CHRIST) REVELATION 5:11-14. (Jehovah witness Bible).

The denial of the Trinity comes first from a big error, the one of conceptuar to the divine persons as conceptua to the human persons. "In teologia, as in any other science, exists the absolute need to use some technical terms. When we say that in the divinity there are three distinct persons, we are not saying with that, that each one of them is so separated from one to the others like a human being separated from the other. Even if it is said that the three persons love each other ,are heard , pray to each other, send each other, testify to each other; it does not however, that they are independent between themselves. The self existence are properties, no of the individual persons, but of a triune God. Second, the denial of the trinidad comes by the wrong aplicacion of bible texts that speak of the subordination of the son to the father. However, Christ-- who is God-- was also man. Hence it is said that his nature is divine-human This subordination is not of essence, but of order and operation. Each one of the divine persons has his sphere of action, "as if it was a very organised society". Another razon of the denial of the doctrine of the trinidad is the ignorance or the prejudice of some arians writers, who suppose that we believe in three gods. For example, In the book “Let God be True” the JW says; "The doctrine, in brief, is that there are three gods in one". At most, that is a conclusion that the witnesses and Eric want to extract; but never it is a Christian belief. This never was written or admitted by any trinitarian Christian, at any time. This accusation of tritheism is arbitrary. Instead, the JW and Eric could be accused of bitheism. When affirming that Jehovah is an all-powerful God, and Christ is a powerful god, they are believing in two gods. A greater God that beget to a lesser god. Therefore, two gods, does not matter the category they try to give them.

Well put together. I'm a JW Apostate too after I read the Bible and compared NWT with KJV. A couple of things to point out and feel free to take me up for further discourse: Trinity is not in the Bible as a word. But remember even the "Bible" is not a word found in the scriptures but we believe in it. Please be open about the concept from non JW biased perspective. In John 14 - 17, Jesus repeatedly explained that His father is in Him and by receiving the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father both dwell together in us. This is how I interpret Trinity as aspects of One Almighty God. The next point explains why we don't worship the Holy Spirit but it has nothing to do with the Trinity. To support this point, I'll reference part of a scripture you already mentioned that "all authority has been given to Jesus". He received this authority because He was on earth as our Savior and He received all authority because of the direct sacrifice He came to make on earth for mankind as our Savior. That said, the Holy Spirit is part of the fullness of Almighty God, which is what Trinity tries to explain. But Jehovah’s Witnesses condemn Trinity by telling us they are 3 equal separate Gods in one. I am with you in Rejecting Trinity based on JW misrepresentation of it. However, try to grasp the concept directly from the Bible. Remember the Bible says all 3 are in agreement. They are the fullness of The Almighty God. That is why when Peter received the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascended, he could convert 3,000 people at once (Acts 2) because the fullness of God's power was dwelling in Peter. In John 14, Jesus said to be happy He is going away because the Holy Spirit will come and help us do greater works than Jesus Himself did. Finally my brother, read Ephesians 4 and 1 Corinthians 12-14 to understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit. You mentioned that it is by witnessing Christ that we are able to prophesy (Revelation 19) and I agree. Know that one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophesy, which is to bring Christians into the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4). The way we prophesy is that we can hear the voice of God the way prophets heard Him in the past. The Holy Spirit is the power and voice of God. You cannot even confuse it as your thoughts when you hear the Holy Spirit. Remember when God called Samuel as a child and he answered Eli 3 times. It was by experience that Eli knew God was talking to Samuel. Same thing happened to Jeremiah in chapter 1 when God asked him to confirm the vision. Read 1 Kings 19 when God spoke to Elijah. He was not in the Wind, Fire or Earthquake, but was a calm voice. I have heard the voice of God in prophesy about family members. Two of which have occurred. I have heard counsel from God about specific situations that were complicated in my life and God gave me health advice that I could not have known otherwise. Against JW teachings, when I heard the Holy Spirit The first few times, I kept telling a close friend there was a stable voice in my head that always gave me counsel and explained the scriptures to me. John 14.26 says Holy Spirit is your teacher, helper and reminder. It was until I got to the book of John that I understood who has been speaking to me. Read Acts 2:17,18, which references Joel 2. Scriptures make it clear that in the last days "God will pour out His Spirit on all sorts of men and women. They will dream dreams and see visions. THEY WILL PROPHESY! That said, your lessons are awesome and I would love to engage in scriptural discourse with you as a former Aux Pioneer and newly disfellowshipped JW Apostate who loves to worship Jesus 😀 Your wonderful videos helped me confirm that I was not crazy. My 4 siblings and dad are still JWs and I pray for them. They think I've lost my mind😊

Eric you trully have the gift of teaching, your insight and understanding sheds light in the dark places of organised religion, I had already decided for myself that organised religion was a snare, but this talk and video confirms so much more, it's difficult to adjust when you have been the victim of so much false indoctrination, but presentations like this are so reassuring and heart warming, I pray that Jehovah will continue to bless your work in enlightening us all in what is acceptable to our heavenly father and his dear son. Brother Eric all of this is non sense to elders specially in the Spanish community. In the meeting I had with them in September I stated the fact that our Bible is very bias to meet our doctrines and have replaced many words( exam 2Cor 5:20). The answer I received was "do you believe more in other bibles than ours!". Also when stated we should honor and worship our lord Jesus Christ they gasp in amazement despite the fact that I explained to them what that meant. It fell in deaf ears.

Jesus worship and love JEHOVAH: John 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, John 14:31 But for THE WORLD to know that I love the Father, I am doing just as the Father HAS commanded ME to do. Get up, let us go from here.

This is simple...Jesus was worshiped multiple times...and NEVER ....EVER rejected such treatment

Another excellent video, Eric. I would like to clarify that, although it at times can be hard to be a Christian, following what Christ REALLY says is a heck of a lot easier than following what men in an organization or a church say. Both Jehovah and Jesus want us to have a smooth path and to be at peace, whereas following what men of a religion say leads to unnecessary hardship and burdens. The Bible clearly states that we are saved, not by works, but by GRACE. I would have to say that men make it difficult, but Jesus and Jehovah make it easy. So much better to follow Jesus and Jehovah and not men. Thanks again, for the wonderful video!

Profound! I was listening to this while taking a long walk rewinding, because it was deep, but this is not enough. Now I have a clearer perspective of Jesus Roll, and unfortunately the leaders of all these organizations have tried to replace Jesus now because he is not here and the see the members of the organization want Jesus now, and rather than telling them to wait the try to replace Jesus themselves, this is the fundamental danger in all “organized Christian religions” this is of course why Jesus nor the apostles built or created organizations (I defy anyone to disprove this statement). The greek word for 'worship' is PROSKUNEO' It literally means 'To make obeisance', 'do reverence', 'homage' & 'worship'. Jesus as God's only begotten Son was given authority by his father to become the 'chief agent of life' so we can rightly pay homage to, show reverence to him. This doesnt detract from the fact that Jesus himself said "It is the Lord your God you must worship" ( Matt 4:10. Who was he referring to? He told Mary " I am returning to My God and your God, to my father & your father" John 20:17

Thank you for the video. Very interesting and informative. I didn't realise the word worship was used in place of 4 separate Greek words and changes now the scripture reads. Just a small note: you reference 2Cor 2:20 regarding substitution. I believe it is actually 2Cor 5:20.

Excellent polemic against the WTBTS as always, however, the theology has me baffled. Doesn't your position make scripture contradict itself and affect the immutability Of God? Scripture has affirmed that we shall not worship the created only the uncreated which axiomatically is Yahovah, Yahovah has also said that there are no other gods (uncreated gods, or true Gods) beside Him, (Romans 1:25, Isaiah 45:5, Deut 6:13-14, Ex 23:13). Of course, if you mean that Jesus is not of creaturely status i.e. eternal; and thus must be by default Yahovah then I’m with you on that (Rev 1:8, Rev 1:17-18). If not, maybe you can clear up exactly who you believe Jesus to be and is worthy of worship and sharing God's glory.

at 17:53 he states _"to be clear, I don't believe in the Trinity"_ which makes me wonder if he believes Jesus is God and if so, gets around the concept there is only ONE God if there is no Trinity. Question: if not an angel, what else is Jesus if not God? Is it accurate to accuse others of false beliefs and explain to them why that is so but at the same time hold on to other false beliefs without the desire to seek truth? But I recognize these videos do provide insight to those mentally stuck in this organization and therefore his teaching does allow the first step and these small steps are necessary to help release that false teaching without the need to be perfect.

Is It Proper to Worship Jesus? The Bible’s Viewpoint Is It Proper to Worship Jesus? THROUGHOUT the centuries, many in Christendom have worshiped Jesus Christ as if he were Almighty God. Jesus himself, however, directed attention and worship only to Jehovah God. For example, when prodded to do an act of worship to the Devil, Jesus said: “It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Matthew 4:10) Later Jesus instructed his disciples: “Do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One.”-Matthew 23:9. To a Samaritan woman, Jesus described the type of worship that individuals must give to God. Their worship must be based on spirit and truth. Indeed, “the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him.” (John 4:23, 24) Yes, reverent adoration should be expressed only to God. Jesus certainly occupies a pivotal role in true worship, one worthy of honor and respect. (2 Corinthians 1:20, 21; 1 Timothy 2:5) He is the only way through which we are able to approach Jehovah God. (John 14:6) Accordingly, true Christians do well to direct their worship only to Jehovah God, the Almighty.

True Christians do not worship men. True Christians worship God and his son Jesus. True Christians believe the Bible is the only authority. Jehovah's Witnesses worship the Governing Body and their teachings.

Even without the lessons in Greek, an honest Bible student can appreciate that God desires us to imitate Jesus. And that includes obeying Jesus, Indeed, revering, adoring and yes, bowing down to our Redeemer. That is how Jehovah wants us to worship Him.

Thanks for the information. I used to study with the JW, but not anymore. But then, on your understanding, does Jehova have any human or group representing him on earth? or the task of understanding the bible fully is an individual task? The eunuch on Acts received help even though he had the information on his hands, or when Paul said on Romans10:13, 14 in order to know God we needed someone that preaches. I know that even having ears, or eyes , if Jehova don't let it, we won't be able to see or hear, like what happen with the experts of Israel ( at the time of Jesus). I'm not trying to defend JWs or any other group, is just confusing to me. Another thing ( I'm not justifying sins), but on the past Israel sinned in many ways against Jehova, like for e.g, during the reign of Manasseh, but still they were called His people. If i were to live on the time of Israel, i could fall into the conclusion that they were not his property, based on their actions alone. Could that be happening to any of these organizations? If there were an organization on earth representing Jehova, having Jesus as their Lord, would they be perfect? or would they be rectified? Could Jehova show mercy in order to clean them? I know that some basics truth are essential, like the nature of God should be clear, meaning he is not three individuals in one. Jesus is GOD and the Holy Spirit is GOD. There are many verses that prove this. And when led by the Holy Spirit you know that, that is the the truth.

Jehovah’s Witness would say God put the Governing body as substitutes for Christ. So they put themselves on this pedestal to be equal to Jesus Christ. There is the problem Eric, notice how new light comes only from the governing body not from the Bible. You just touched on this if the governing body don’t say it don’t believe it. How do you fight this stupidity Eric? Obey or get disfellowshipped. So frustrating

AWESOME! My faded thoughts, obscure and unseen by all others, have finally come to the surface because of being infused with research and reality. I now have joy with my understanding. Bro. Russell was right, "Religion is a snare and a Racket". Now my freedom to "Worship" feels even better. Unincumbered. I’ve always had a hard time with giving the GB so much adoration. They really do worship them to the very definition of worship. They give Jesus no credit at all but give much credit to their leaders because without those leaders directing them then they feel they have no salvation. Ya that sounds like worship to me. For many years I have had doubts about if I did I was sinning against Jehovah but we commit the sin of not really reading His Word carefully. Because it is right there for us to see. If we get lost is our own fault. From today I will worship Jesus and obey as Jehovah wants us to. Please how do you pray. For so many years I have felt guilty because if Jesus gave his life for me why can’t I recognize in a more meaningful and heart felt way and say so to Jesus instead of just praying through him. Very profound!!!! even the most recent NWT changed the word from kiss the son to Honor the son. Ps 2 v 12. But it's like a taboo to use the name Jesus within the organization. I had to really research the word Honor" in recent times. I felt I have been sooo mislead in my 47 years with the organization.

I agree 100% what you said in this video. I read the Bible and notice a lot of things that are off with the religions. I always felt that the JW dress code isn’t humble but show authority. Also I have said that every religion isn’t building upon what Jesus started but putting another foundation for the sake of mens pride or boasting. We are suppose to be in sync with what Jesus laid as a foundation and keep building upon that. We are the building blocks that would create the temple that Jesus himself would come and take as his bride. i am like a child waiting impatiently for your next video to be uploaded (not in a worshippy or stalky way haha!) and when i get that little email to say it has i am even more impatient to get home and watch, nice one Eric learnt a lot in this, to be honest it should be very obvious, i guess its not for a lot. I'm so glad you summed up this discussion with the scripture from Ps 2: 12, it was ringing in back of my mind throughout. If you hadn't mentioned it I was going to place it in my comments as an addendum. Thank you as always for shoring up our faith 🙏 in both JEHOVAH and his son and our redeemer Jesus Christ to whom we maintain full submission. Additionally a couple of decades ago the next-door 🚪 neighbor expressed appreciation for how religious we were, and I remember how disappointed I felt at being called religious. But being still totally immersed in the organization and an elder to boot that is exactly what I was. Glad to now in the common parlance to be 'woke' to the truth about the 'truth' (ttatt).

Jesus did say that all glory and praise and worship belongs to his father. Then again Jesus also says. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. And he also says He was given authority of the heavens as well as the earth. I can't recall all the scriptures of each of them. But I think there are discrepancies in the bible. So I think it's all bunch of fairy tales just like any other books. I am saying this as a former JW. Or I could be speaking out of ignorance because of what I have been taught from a young age in the watchtower organization. I have always read the nwt in greek so none of this is new... "προσκυνήσουν" is used in Hebrews 1:6 also. προσκυνήσουν in the greek language, really all words rely heavily on context. A lot of good points but the English nwt can rightly be translated in those ways also because it is lawful as it conveys that thought. In the greek nwt it is as it was in the original because the reader in greek comes away with the idea of falling down in awe of Jesus and rightfully so.

Relatively new on the channel. I have to be honest, this disturbed me. Before this talk I had no problem whatsoever in worshipping (proskyneo) Christ. But to be told to pray to Jesus etc? I also felt no conviction from Eric when discussing what we can and cannot do as regards our relationship with Jesus, signalling hesitance or being unsure to me. I am not in any way refusing to love and respect my Lord Jesus but he told me to worship(latreóu) as he does(Math 4.10, Jn 14.14). Love, respect, subservience, duty, bowing down to, care and service can all be shown to Jehovah God and Jesus, but only One has worship(latreou) rendered in every aspect and that is the Father(Rom 12.1)Thank you for the talk, it made me search for clarification from our Father.

For many many years i have neen associated one way or another with Jw's, since 1977. Studied, was baptised, and even after deing baptised the brothers thought i needed to be studied with. ( i think because i was a critical thinker that asked too many questions and was stumped by things not making sense). Then disfellowshipped, then reinstated, then slowly drifting away. And for twenty plus years this is where i am. No brotherly calls, or visits, or sisters. I run into others once in awhile and the smiles fade slowly and graciously but awkwardly take their leave.. im not angry or unhappy. I have GOD with me. One thing i notice about many even long time witnesses is after they make their break it seems they are angry and do many things that just because it is the opposite of what they learned in the organization.! Like, celebrating pagan holidays. I know that the witnesses do not but when i studied one thing i did not do was take their word on anything. I did my research. All of our modern day holidays actually go back to babylon and have origins in horrible pagan practices. Please be careful and dont do a 360 turn only to go from the pan to the fire.
