I don't think elf will be affected. They're super popular bc of the dupes they create from higher-end brands and affordability. Now if it were a higher-end brand, I think that'd be different.

as a makeup girly in her early 20s i dont think elf has anything to worry about... every company has connections to something 'bad', and in this case it's not even elf itself. elf is cheap and good quality and is cruelty free. right now in particular, i think this would be overshadowed by brands like rare beauty where the founder herself is openly and actively pro-israel & ethnic cleansing.

Hard agree. I could instantly think of 5 makeup brands that aren’t RU-vidr related that have concerning connections or questionable owners but are very successful lol. I can’t really imagine elf being largely effected by this especially with how big the brand is.

I was doing my makeup using elf while watching the pod 😂 over the last couple of years elf has really cemented itself as a staple in the makeup community due to its products replicating expensive makeup for a way lower price. It'll take a lot until consumers begin the boycott it. However, i was shocked to hear about the north korean scandal omg that is way worse than a shaky association with a cult lol

I think for a lot of people ELF is introductory makeup. Like it's the one you buy when you get started, then the longer you spend learning about it the more you seek out good quality products, I doubt most people who will care about this.

Makeup opinion! Elf is okay. They’ve definitely improved their products over the past 10 years. However, quality isn’t always the best. I prefer the brands colourpop, haus labs, and fenty beauty. Elf being involved with a cult was not on my 2023 bingo list
