@@martinlaffey1953 With the money that premier league clubs have to throw away these days I could easily see a struggling premier League side pay big money for him to keep them up. We need to be offering him an improved deal with a nice up front advance to keep him here long term. But if we do lose him I wouldn't want a penny less than 40m!! And even then I'd still much rather have him here than the money because he's consistent, never injured and basically just irreplaceable.

@@viralityac difference in opinion, I can't see him going in January. Makes no sense. He was this good last season and only Burnley came in for him with terrible bids. Personally I think he stays, plus Bennette being the only left winger coming through we need to ensure cover.

@@martinlaffey1953 Wasn't as many eyes on us last season as we were expected to be fighting relegation. And he wasn't this good last season. 9 league goals in 45 games. He's scored 5 in 7 already this season. And for the first half of last season he was hit or miss some games. So far he's been the star of the show in nearly all of our wins this season. There will be offers for him in Jan if he keeps this form up, and you're absolutely delusional if you think otherwise. Burnley be straight back in for him among others and their summer bid wasn't really too far off given he'd only had one season in the championship and has no prem experience. Palace were also looking at him before they signed Franca. I don't think any Sunderland fan in the world wants to lose him, not for any price. But we have to face reality - we can't compete with the premier league teams when it comes to wages etc.. and if an offer comes in for him and the club are happy with it he will be gone. It's the nature of the game and this is the model of the club.
