KHOU 11 Investigative Reporter Jeremy Rogalski interviews CenterPoint Director of Communications Alyssia Oshodi from 11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on July 9, 2024.
@@stacyjones4334i saw a bunch staged at a parking lot in katy by an academy. None were working on poles or anything just running the streets in groups in their high visibility vests. Seems like they are enjoying being on the clock not fixing anything
These are basic questions!!! Why in the hell did she not do her homework knowing she was going to be interviewed? Same old corporate jargon word salad. Mayor Whitmire and Kim Ogg, this group needs investigating next!!!! I want to see some heads roll. P.S. Interviewer did an *excellent* job!
Senior leadership sent a lower level employee out there with limited info. She doesn't have the info bc her own company won't tell her. She's a puppet for Centerpoint
I bet they could get more people back online by the end of tomorrow. When a neighborhood loses power, but it's surrounded by neighborhoods with power, it's not a catastrophic rebuild. IMO They're hiding behind the "damage assessment" rhetoric to deflect from their inability to manage the situation.
In person! You mean them, the elite of the energy industry, breathing the same air as us unwashed peasants? You must be making jests, because that ain't happening!!
They haven't been trimming around the lines. That's why they have so many outages. It's different in North Texas where Oncore is. I recently moved to Houston. Im not impressed. Plus we pay more here. This is ridiculous. All your high prices are covering equity programs here instead of investment in the service. If yall have been watching the outages totals they are not updating much. This company really sucks.
Thank you 11 news and jermey for asking those real questions we Houstonians need to know. That is a GOSH DAMN EMBARRASSMENT!!!!! Especially when you cant give us people a count of people whos working on what or how many people are in town!
These ppl had a practice run with May to prepare for hurricane season If u actually drive around Katy/cypress there are still bunch poles leaning from derecho Likely their plan is to not replace them until they fall
At this point, fire the entire administration of Centerpoint. Clean house and start over with some better people that aren't just about money and truly care about their customers.
They could have prepared lol not call for help after the damage was done and say “hey look we are doing something” This is Houston this should be muscle memory This lady should be fired
I can’t say what I want to say because I’ll be put on a list( lol) but all I’ll say is don’t let me get my hands on any Canter point executive b/c it won’t be pretty. There’s no reason a company as shit as that should be managing an ENTIRE city. Break up the monopoly. Idc if it cost more
I don’t even know if the full crew is even in the state. They intially only staged 2,500 near Houston😭 I won’t rest until Center-pint as a company is no more/ at least not providing energy for the entire city lol
She is talking bullshit. On my way back from Beaumont, I seen atleast a hundred utility trucks headed east towards Louisiana on Tuesday evening, they definitely were not headed here to Houston
Wow, she speaks in the exact wordage as the whitehouse press secretary talking without giving clear needed answers. But in plain english, Centerpoint should have been well more prepared. They have failed over and over repeatedly since the freeze of 2021. They should have had crews here way beforehand and not just arriving now. The crews weren't near enough. Their definition of nearby is "not anywhere in Texas or even close". Centerpoint needs to be held accountable for their repeated failure, which is inexcusable. This was a great interview, but terrible job from Centerpoint with giving clear needed answers to the public. This almost feels like he was having to talk to an automated service 🤦♀️🙄
There is no way CenterPoint hired her. Which family member hooked her up with this job? Someone should check her credentials and the candidates who applied for this job. She don’t know and couldn’t answer any questions. Fire her.
If upper management at Centerpoint is focusing on stupidity rather than competence, we can all see what the real problem is. This woman provided no tangible benefit to the current situation. The Harris County judge needs to take a lot of blame also.
CenterPoint's communication was absolutely abysmal e2e. She is the director of comms and the buck stops with her. She epically failed and should resign.
Does she have aspirations for Washington DC? This sounds like a House Committee inquiry. The person being questioned never can answer a question succinctly.
Do not forget!!! next bill to demand they pro-rate your bill for the days of no service. They will NOT do it until you ask, especially the average billing accounts.
This is the Director of Communications??? Centerpoint has more issues if this is the type of individual they feel is most qualified for this position. Come on man!!!
Awesome interview questions. Pathetic answers. She never stated any type of apology to customers who are suffering in this heat. I bet she’s sitting in the AC.
Maybe some commenters need to take some personal responsibility, like maintaining their trees & large shrubs are properly cut so they're not resting on power lines. Stop planting cheap fast-growing trees that only set out shallow root system.
