Exterior Detailing | One Step Polish On A Ford G6E Turbo | FocusOnDetailing
In this video I get to work on a 2009 Ford FG G6E Turbo. It had a few light scratches and swirls found all over it so it was in need of a bit of paint correction so I decided it’d be a great opportunity to make a new, complete detail video of a one-step polish detail.
I go over, briefly all the steps that I went through to get the car looking amazing and also including each product used.
PROCESS:
Wheel Decontamination
Hands Free Wash
Hand Wash
Drying
Clay Bar
Drying
Paint Correction (1 Step Polish)
Glass Cleaned
Sealant
Tyre Shine
It was a great to car to work on! Both I and the owner were really happy with the results. I also hope that all of you enjoy watching it all happen!

Haha well it would've be Fusso Coat but I've left that with my Dad for his Mercedes. I'll be getting some more of my own again

Another great video. Just a couple of pro tips. Before you start pressure washing, check for any paint defects, like chips, that will allow the water to enter under pressure and cause the paint surrounding the chip, which has weakened substrate bondage due to the initial removing slightly raising the surrounding paint when removed by the initial impace on the surface, as this can cause further paint delamination and any water contained under the paint can,due to climactic exposure, change from a liquid to a vapour, which is steam, which can expand upto 200% in volume, causing further substrate delamination. The other being throughly checkheadlights and tail lights for cracks or fractures , as again, injested water will turn to steam within the light, again expanding and causing corrosion to occur within the light source, either globe or LED, within the wiring and will track back thru the lume via electrolysis, and destroy the plastic chrome plating. Just some more usefull advice.

Hey Tim, great vid and result mate. Just wanted to ask (or possibly a vid suggestion) paint correction on the small difficult area's. Front bar/grill, side skirts etc... Do you complete these area's with the same machine? Change pads? Or move to a hand applicator? Reason i mention vid suggestion, is everyone shows correction on doors, boot, bonnet. Never the places that are a real shit to get to. Thanks in advance mate, keep up the good work. Cheers Mark...

Thank you for the comment! I understand where you're coming from completely. I actually have the 'Shine Mate Mini Rotary' for those hard to reach spots. Makes it a whole lot easier than using the larger polisher in terms of versatility. The only time I'd use a hand applicator to work in a compound and or polish is in behind door handles to tidy them up. Although you will likely not achieve the same results as with the machine polishing. It's still a good alternative.

Sorry about the late response. I now use a grit guard made by Bowden's Own. It can be found at Autobarn, Supercheap Auto and maybe Repco. Just keep an eye out as they'll be likely near their buckets and they're called "great barrier thingy" . Hope this helps
