Exterior Painting Step 6: Masking the House and Placing Drop Cloths

I have some new masking videos done now. When I mask concrete or deck edges, instead of pe-taping then tape/paper, I just use the tape/paper, hold it back and inch, and then throw the 1.5" blonde tape up to the house and there's much better adhesion and the masking is very easy to remove in one effort.

Hi--Thanks for the comment. I suggest you go to one of your local paint stores and buy the best canvas drop cloths they have. Even the heaviest weight (8 oz., I think) can sometimes allow paint to seep through, so if you're putting them over carpet or concrete or decking, it's a good idea to wipe up any big drips/spills with a rag so they don't seep through. Sizes will vary depending on your needs, but one 9' x 12', one 12' x 15', and one 4' x 15' ("runner") is a good selection to start with.

Nice tips dude! Thanks for your time and advice!! , do you not just change from paper to the plastic on the 3m hand masker however when spraying.? Save messing about with that big box of a painters plastic.

how are you jhon? nice videos. question if u gonna spray an exterior wall or house, can u just sweep it and mop it and then just paint after the prep. i didnt see that part. or is not that necesary?
