Can the small English village of Boscastle stay afloat when black storm clouds and endless rain threaten to wash it away? Flash floods cause the main river to jump its banks and washout the town. (from Discovery Channel's "Raging Planet")
I have been through Boscastle, it's a stunning place. I remember this day very well. I only live 40 miles from Boscastle, I was in my 12 years old at the time. I remember seeing the local news papers headline in the shop the next morning, with the picture of the helicopter hovering above.
Was only 3 miles from there on the day driving on holiday. I pulled over and waited the rain out as it was just too dangerous to continue quite afew did the same. Never seen anything like it
So many similarities to Lynmouth; Two river's meet, mid August, 15th- & 16th , sudden massive deluge from nowhere. I wonder, if like Lynmouth, there were scientists flying over head, who released chemicals, to see if they could create a rain storm ?? fortunately, unlike Lynmouth, who suffered many deaths, Boscastle, didn't. Then there was the other experiment with chemical rain making, over the counties north of London, several years later, all out of a near perfect summer sky. M'mm, best to check the BBC websight, for facts, from a Radio investigation in the 1950's.
Hi would you mind telling me the name of this if you know it, would love to watch this on our beautiful Boscastle's flash flood. Never seen this before? Thank you in advance linda.
