IT'S FINALLY HERE! After 15 months of renovation, our lounge and dining room are finally done and we can't wait to show you around!
We kick off with a recap of the renovation so far - knocking down walls, installing beams, replacing joists, levelling the floor, removing chimney beams - is there anything we didn't do to this room!?
If you want to jump straight to the finished product, jump to 20:00 where we jump to present day and show you the final room!

If you eventually go for a rug in the room, I suggest placing it in the living area rather than underneath the table; it will make the space feel a lot cosier and you won't risk getting it dirty with food or wine. Also, the table chairs will slide a lot better without it

Thanks for the advice. Great to know 🥰

Love how you have styled it without going the crazy overpriced route. Congrats on the hard work guys🎉

Holy cow! You virtually rebuilt it 😂 It's very cool and I wish you many happy evenings of entertaining. If you can't find your statement piece perhaps you could create your own? When you've run out of other projects of course 😉

Thank you! Yes that would be cool! May need to be in 2025 at this rate haha

I've been watching from the start and forgot how tedious all the brick issues were. Looks great

For something above your couch you can get big wooden world map art and you can put in a pin on places you have travelled to. You can get them to fill the wall space and it wouldn’t be square plus it’s personal xxx

Looking good so far. It takes time to make a place a home, so don't rush it too much. I forgot how much physical work you did at the beginning.

We forgot too! Yes takes times to get it finished - really looking forward to filling it with plants

I enjoyed this. What a long journey to get where you are; it's looking good. I think a large green plant would look good just behind where you were sitting. It will be interesting to see how much value you have added with all your hard work. Hopefully you will have a 'quiet' time now to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Yes we can’t wait to fill the living room with plants - that’s where it is certainly lacking in colour. Once the reno is complete, we will get it valued for sure. Looks promising as houses on our road are being sold for a lot more now - ones that haven’t been recently renovated too!

Can't believe how much work you did by yourselves! All that hard work has finally paid off...love what you have done💜.. but I wonder if you would do it all over again? 😫

Does your Noguchi table have an etched Isamu Noguchi signature on the long edge of the glass? If so, it is from Herman Miller - the company making this table since the 50’s

Did you end up feeding the TV cables through the chimney? I'm struggling to decide how to hide everything and was considering drilling a hole like you did
@FeedbyAutumn
@FeedbyAutumn Год назад
The great thing about the frame TV it only has one small cable going into it. It has a separate box where you plug all your other devices into. It means the hole needing to be drilled is a lot smaller than what we first thought. That’s where the frame TV truly has been great

It’s looking really good, guys. I think the rug would be great in the living room. I personally find it annoying when I can’t easily move the dining chair because of a rug underneath. Also when food drops, it’s nice to wipe up on hard floor. May look more aesthetically pleasing with a rug, but not super practical.

I just screen shot my favorite pictures I find online and and put it on my frame tv. I’m not interested in spending money on art for the tv unless I really want to support that artist.

You guys have done such amazing work ! You should both be so proud. I was curious about the ceiling height as you mentioned it is quite high. Could you share ? Is it the same on the ground and first floor?
@FeedbyAutumn
@FeedbyAutumn Год назад
Thanks Jessica. It’s 2.55m on the ground floor and originally 2.5m on the first floor. We rescued the ceiling height on the first floor to 2.4m for a loft conversion

autumn, i actually thought the tv was a painting. maybe it shows differently on camera. i had to keep rewinding to see if i could tell its a tv. i cant.

haha that’s definitely what we were aiming for! You can buy customizable frames that make it look even more like a painting

Did you remove the chimney breasts all the way up to the loft level? and did you use gallows brackets or was you able to somehow remove it from the top level too?
@FeedbyAutumn
@FeedbyAutumn Год назад
I don’t think you’re allowed to use hallow brackets anymore. We needed to support the chimney stack with an RSJ at loft level. We incorporated the beams in line with the beams needed for the loft conversion.
@ChromeEnergyDrink
@ChromeEnergyDrink Год назад
@@FeedbyAutumn thank you! I wish I did that too but I only realised once bc came round that the beams I had just installed may not be strong enough to also hold an rsj under the chimney stack so to avoid starting from scratch and reordering and installing more steelwork I think I’ll stick to plan A this time and just have a chimney breast where a cupboard could potentially have been! Oh well lesson learned!

It annoys me so much how everything is a subscription service now! Like a subscription for art on a Samsung frame TV is mad!! So unaffordable especially with how expensive everything is right now
