is it a solid brick wall or cavity. I wold guess solid brick. There is therefore the question of how the wall can get rid of any moisture that is within the wall. With a cement render external then that is a big problem and painting it will only make that worse. The best option of the house long term would have been to remove the pebble dash, clean the bricks and repoint. Expensive but you would have ensured the long term life of the wall was increased rather than impaired.
Thank you for this great video. I’ve been quoted 168k for a loft conversion for 2 bedrooms an open plan study area coming off the stairs a bathroom and a rear dormer on a detached house all inc VAT. That seems very high. What do you think? I’m new to this.Thanks.
A really good effort. For future projects use UNO walk plugs. Available everywhere they can be used in solid walls and stud walls. They have a very sizeable pull out force. I’ve used them for years even for rads and heavy duty fittings.
Amazing! You've inspired me - I wasn't sure about what to do with a house with pebbledash on it but I think I can compromise by painting until later, too. Great job!
Beautiful end result, thanks for adding the costs! I've just bought a fixer upper Victorian terrace in east London and would love to know who your carpenter and plasterer were? I'm using DIY Kitchens too but I've got a wee while to go before I've saved up enough for the full job. Thanks a lot for this vid. BTW are you South African? Edit: scratch that, you are too! Hey ta! South Africans renovating east London unite!!!
These look good, but why leave the top exposed? That makes it look way less "built in". In reality, you should have put something around the whole thing, including the top.
We are in a similar situation size wise, we have 233cm head height but stead of getting the smaller frames and building a base we are going to cut the plinth section off the bottom of the frame to have seamless floor to ceiling wardrobes
How self-centred do you have to be? Did it cross your mind that they might be busy? That something might have happened? They do not live to please you and whilst she did say she'd post the following week and she hasn't yet, it still doesn't signify she lied about it. How did you even come to that conclusion is baffling to me
