Anyone who knowingly exposes workers to preventable danger is a criminal and the fact that it is children makes it so much worse. Those gears may be destined for use in one of our developed economies so what does that make us? We don't let our children do that but its ok if they are from a poor country. It is of no importance that he is not at school being educated further. The Victorian overlords never disappeared, they just shifted to another country.

Children are perfectly capable and usually enjoy working alongside adults. Give them appropriate tasks and their confidence grows.
