I love Charlie. So mischievous. Lightening scares me. Was walking into the grocery store the other day. Was about 15 ft from my car and 15 ft from the store opening. Out of no where Lightening struck very close to me. The thunder cracked so loudly. Close enough the hair on my arms and back of my neck stood up. My ears were ringing. Made it into the store a bit shakey but ok. So glad you and your animals are ok. Stay safe. Love to all❤️
I'm an immigrant (legal) from what was Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). When we left the "old country" way back in 1979, there were an average of about 70 people who would be killed by lightning EVERY YEAR !! Their big mistake was that the natives would hide under a tree for protection every time it rained !! Need I say more........ !!
I've heard if lightening makes the hair on your arms stand up, you should take cover immediately, because the next is going to hit you. Could be true, maybe not. I just know I'm not going to be out there taking any chances! Lightening is not my friend.

You get a little bit of everything when you farm, sometimes its little grass and hot dry weather. Other times it's a lot of rain at once, and a lot of mud to go with it. Your animals are well cared for & very clearly living their best lives. Sharing your family life & farm brings so much happiness to so very many people, apparently even to the rude commenters cause they're watching. Don't let it get to you. I can remember back when a farmer lost some cattle when the animals huddled under a tree in the pasture and during a thunder storm lighting struck the tree. It killed all the animal under the tree cover. I was taught not to seek shelter under a tree when there is lightning.

Most of us just enjoy your videos and never question what you do to take care of your farm. One thing we both have in common is today I'm complaining about the heat and in about 6 or 8 weeks I will be complaining about how cold it is. LOL! I do love the 4 seasons.

Loved this video. It's obvious to this dog lover that your dogs are happy, healthy and having the time of their lives. I am glad you take lightening seriously. Your reaction, going into the barn is one of the reasons I enjoy your videos. Did you sit in the barn and whine about the weather? Nope, you explored the "cool old barn", took advantage of the hay and looked around at the possibilities for the future (maybe a deer blind). Don't let negative comments discourage you. I think your animals are well cared for and loved, especially Charlie. That emu is quite the character! I'm glad you seemed shelter from the thunderstorm. That could've gone bad! Sorry you're getting such hot weather. In Washington State where I live, we've had abnormally hot temps all July, until a few days ago.

Hey Daniel I love the videos. That happened to me and my dad one time we were in the truck under a old hay barn and lightning struck the hay field about 100yards from us it scared the everlasting mess out of me I was only 11 at the time😂. I was thinking that tractor ROPS is probably like an lightning rod out in the middle of a field. We've had a few trees that have been struck by lightning and recovered. But others have shattered or split to bad like the one you have there.
Ppl that make comments about your animals don't know anything about having them. I don't care who you are if you have livestock or any kind of animals you are going to have bare ground wherever they are getting fed. Its just the way it is. You got to love Charlie 💘. Be careful during lightning, yes avoid the middle of a field, but also avoid being in close proximity to a tree. Example is the tree you saw after it was struck, it blew the top out which fell and still split the tree down the sides throwing debris everywhere...

I have watched this channel and listened to you speak at an event in muskogee oklahoma. I absolutely loved what you said to those young people and you demonstrate it every day. It’s so funny how every kind of bird I’ve ever met has a fascination with small little bits and accessories. My sister’s cockatiel would try to play with her teeth if she smiled, or play with the melted joint on hair ties. And chickens always do something similar, if they’re not too skittish. 😆
