This episode we will go over how to install 2019-2020 Ford F-150 Raptor (Gen 2) Live Valve Fox shocks on a 2012 Ford F-150 Raptor (Gen 1). We take a look at the process required for a shock swap from old Gen 1 Raptor Fox shocks to the bigger beefier Gen 2 Live Valve Raptor Fox shocks. We used the Live Valve Delete kit from ‪@Rpgoffroad‬ for the shocks and a Raptor specific limiting strap kit from ‪@OffroadAlliance‬ made by Evil Manufacturing. In order to do this swap you will need your stock springs, bump stops and top hats ‪@rockauto‬ off of your Gen 1 Raptor struts. These will be reused because the Gen 2 Raptor springs are too wide, the top hat bolts on the top are to short and the bump stops are too tall. You will also need to have the shocks refilled with Nitrogen. I filled my shocks to 200PSI which I will probably lower to 175PSI since the ride is stiffer then I would prefer. Make sure that when reinstalling your front cv axles to apply a little bit of Loctite so that the nut doesn't loosen. As with any suspension modification it is important to get your vehicle aligned for better driving and tire wear. Thanks to ‪@DiscountTire‬ for the employment early in our careers and the sweet jacket.

Gen1 owner here. Did you have to put deaver leafs in the rear to accommodate the extended travel of the gen2 shocks? Cool the gen2 bolted right on but I've heard you need a rear lift to for gen2 shocks. Also how has the ride been with the new upgrade/have you taken it off road?

Looks like a nice truck for a 2012. Probably a way better deal than new one. Probably a V8?? Interesting to watch how you did it.

Nice!! Looks like it will be fun. Thinking about the same upgrade but with the KHC conversion kit and the SDI live valve control kit. I'm currently running TSW refurbished shocks on Geiser springs/ mid perch and 37s. Like the bumper! I have the same one. 🤙🤙

Is that one from TDK? I’ve always wondered how they actually look on a GEN1 I like it a lot actually

Refurbished? You mean rebuit. Off roads are meant to be rebuit lol. Saying refurbished makes it sound like you bought factory returns lol.

I’ll find out if it changed, I’m guessing maybe a 1/2 or so lower but I’ll measure and report back!

Your using stock arms with gen 2 shocks, Gen 1 arms are for a 6 inch stroke shock you are sticking shocks with a 8-inch stroke into the buckets there by limiting travel 2 inches on the gen 2 shocks. Kind of defeats the purpose of bigger shocks. Just buy fox 3.0's for the gen 1 and do it correctly. Welding on limit straps trying to work around the droop to protect your CV's just seems to be a cheap hack that will cost you more in the long run. just my 2 cents. Just rebuild your gen 1 shocks add better arms and by passes to the fronts. Bruh you are not getting a gen 2 ride on a gen 1 lol.
