Most people do not realize that when you are above 2500m the aim9b as well as the r3s can pull very well. The low density of the air allows the missile to go very far and turn much better than it does at low altitude.
I have it unlocked, but didn't bother flying it because I was focused on grinding to top tier. Heard a lot of good things about this jet, might have to give it a fly around.
Ever since I unlocked this thing I haven't gotten to kill anyone with the 9B, all gun kills. I fire at people who are closer than 1 mile flying straight and level and the 9B just fucking gives up. It's like that with every single aircraft that uses 9B. Yet I watch other people using them and the missile fucking chases people for up to 10 seconds, pulls harder than it should, hits people more than 3km away.

it gets 4 aim9-B and has very good cannons but it suffers in flight performance when compared to other planes of the saame BR. Also the aim9-Bs are really easy to avoid.
yeah, its more of a support fighter, does well against distracted enemies and helping friendlies. and its not really a dogfighter, since it bleeds a lot of speed in turns. energy fighting and such is what it seems to be best at. the missiles can do very well at high altitude, especially if the enemy doesn't notice you. i have killed so many jet bombers with it, i guess they dont realize you cant always outrun a missile especially if they just made a turn
One of my favourite aircraft, I'd get a free ace but I'm kind of over playing it, grinded to the F-14 with it. Once it's spaded has good performance and you can out turn Migs, not kidding.
I know the comment is a couple days late, I've been grinding sweden without premiums or a premium account for over a year now, reached my top tier tanks and love em... planes however are rediculous. Up to 8.0 I've had fun, the A29A is brilliant. The A32A is perhaps the stupidest plane I have come across in all my time in war thunder. At 9.3 other than good cannons and ammo storage, the plane has nothing going for it. Chaff is a tier 4 modification and takes ages to get. It's slow, doesn't have a large payload. It has a slow turn time. It's a strike so removing air spawns has left it with no advantages at it's BR and it's useless. I would love to hear your thoughts and see you play it potentially! Sadly the javelin have very fragile airframe (especially the huge Doritos wing) and it doesn't really perform much well in sticky situation (low survival chance in merge)
AAnd then you realize that this thing sometimes faces german ww2 jets. The power creep is close to breaking me away from this game for good this time. Low tier jumps from BR 1.0 to 4.0 almost instantly with little improvements mainly guns climb rate ect ect, nothing game breaking about facing a 3.0 as a 2.0 fighter. Yet the top bracket 5-7 only goes from 7-11 BR and the difference between 7.0 and 8.0 is an entire decade, and complete obsolescence.
Hey tankenstien I was just playing on my old toaster u t till it gave up on me. Fast forward a few years my dad finally bought me a ps4 BUTT sill I lost almost 4 years of progress so if you could even consider giving the su25 which is btw my favourite addition to war thunder so far. You’ve been making all these British plane videos did you forget about the buccaneer? Or even the javelin or the scimitar? Aim9b at 8.3+ bucc is 9.3 with no guns.
F9F-8 Cougar's Br. needs to be lower it sees too many Sea Vixen F.A.W. Mk.2 players who just go into the stratosphere and you cant keep up with them nothing in that Br. can, you also fight MiG-15 with their Russian bias by the time you make it a quarter of the way to the battlefield their already at 20,000 ft. and climbing. It's Br. needs to be decompressed.
