I could definetely see something like this as a sport in real life. At least before military aviation goes stealth/hypersonic/automatic, while there are still human pilots in cool 4th gen fighters. Use dummy missiles that turn on red LEDs to signal it had exploded and are recovered by chute to save costs. Absolutely gorgeous liveries by the way!
I was at the Edinburgh Air Force base airshow in Adelaide Australia at the end of 2019. It was my first military airshow and it was just before the pandemic hit. They warned us that the RAAF Superhornets would be loud. Normally I protect my hearing as much as possible but I had to remove my earplugs to hear that demonic howl as it passed over. Whatever hearing damage I endured, it was well worth it and I'm glad I decided to listen unmuffled.
Super Hornet is the one limited to 9G even with the paddle. I guess the maintenance crews of legacy Hornets complained about too many bent airframes ;)
It’s a silly / fun idea but here ya go…. All vs All in a race to the biplane. The idea is all start in their personal choice 5th generation aircraft. Shoot it out and the winner goes to 4th gen. The game continues into the next round with all in 5th gen and the previous winner in a 4th gen so on and so on with the winner going down generations until the biplane! Ideally all players will be in close generation aircraft but maybe not. 😎
Great video, but having the big names out reminds me: what's happened with FlyTheGerman, DampSock and ViolentViolet? Fly in particular used to crack me up in commentary and I haven't seen any of these 3 in ages it seems. Retired?
Fly and Damp more thank likely had scheduling conflicts. Violent hasn't made it to member missions or participated in videos in about 6 months. I believe violet may have burned out on DCS.
@@simba1113 Thank you for the update, Simba. I hope that Fly and Damp can rejoin soon. As as for Violet, yeah burnout happens. It's a shame but when you don't want to play a game and it becomes work, time to quit.
They do realise that a pre-flare is a thing .... ? if the Flanker guys were pre-flaring on time would have scored much better!!! :) Great fun , well done all !
Ok. Maybe something interesting. Imagine a slightly disadvantaged flight group of 4v4. Chinese, Russian or American it doesn’t matter. But after 45 seconds gets rescued by two other planes??? Of the same caliber
f18 pulled 13g with no breaking up.. somethings wrong with that model., also F14, I saw it pull 16g and no problem.. f16 constant 9.5g-10g also no problem..
I'm curious to know if you can use differential thrust to throw the Su-27 family out of the Cobra in the yaw axis, drop the nose, and speed out of the manuvuer? Su-33 vs. F-15 MDT? Please.....Should see if the Navy or Air Force got it right, Hornet Charlie vs. Viper Charlie!! 😄
Maybe? Su33 has more drag and is worse kintematically, but with the cannards can trade energy for very tight turns. The F18 and Su33 both have very solid nose authority, unlike the Su27, but the Su27 probably has a better sustained turn radius than both the F18 and Su33. Ultimately in fights like these it's just going to come down to which pilot is better in their respective aircraft.
Really enjoyed that episode same with the F-14 vs the Su-27 you guys did. The Su-33 tho OMG, it's an absolute heffa. Worse thing about it was the Slab-Orks decided to put it on a carrier. Goodness me only a complete slab-of-concrete-for-brains would do that. The Flanker is such a liability no matter which way you cut it. China have cut it into the J-11/15/16 series and even then it has not exactly been performing. Those Saturn engines, no matter how much you manage fuel, the Saturns just chug it down like Slab-Ork with vodka.
I hear on the grapevine that Kortana is getting hitched ! First……..Congrats 👰🏻♀️. Second…….SIGH ! (That’s the collective sound of a googolplex of guys acknowledging that cruel, cruel Nature has won again 😢).
That's what happens when you hate on an aircraft that much you dont fly it. Hornet should easily win that one if you know what you are doing. Perhaps you should watch some Growling Sidewinder for some tips? 😉
Su-33 is my favorite FC3 aircraft, trimming the front canards and having extra pylons makes all the difference when doing air to ground with rockets. The biggest skill is trimming the aircraft correctly, and knowing when to disable the pitch limiter.
