Thanks for a great breakdown! I love the format that they've carved out for the last two trailers and how the story twists on the end of both demand a rewatch immediately. Three little details that to add to the conjecture are: 8:06 There's a for sale sign by the door of the building on the left. That could mean anything from having one house per area that you can buy like in Fable 1 or the entire economic system of Fable 2 and 3, but probably something in between. 15:41 I'm pretty sure that's the same character from the previous shot who tried to save someone, but probably led to the deaths of many. That scenario is very evocative of The Silver Balverine in F1 Knothole Glade, and I think this shot is him being imprisoned for his crime. The shot really stands out for it's lighting and composition as well as the rest of the trailer, which leads me to believe that there's going to be a baked lighting approach, for the missions at least. I can't imagine shots like this or the previous scene being effected by a dynamic time of day and only a lucky few arriving at the perfect cinematic lighting conditions. It could be the Spiderman approach of having a fixed time of day per chapter or a GTA 5 approach to speeding up time to the appropriate time of day. I also have a strong suspicion that we're going to see the seasons of Forza Horizon 4, but there's really nothing in any trailers so far to suggest that. 23:40 This "execution" seems to be non-lethal as she holds the blade and hits him with the hilt. Perhaps this works like Baldur's Gate 3 where you have a non-lethal toggle. I hope this means we'll see more nuance to violence, where a petty bandit can be taught a lesson instead of outright capacitated. Even Red Dead Redemption 2 started to feel ridiculous when I was being asked to take down armies of gangs, while living in amongst a camp of flawed individuals that I loved. Anyway, thanks for going through a lot of lore that I had no idea about. The idea that it could be a prequel about Scarlet Robe before Fable 1 was really enticing as she's also Theresa's mother.

Thanks for the thought out response! I saw a screenshot of that sign about 5 mins after posting this video, sods law haha. I think a compromise between fable 1 & 3's system would be great. But if we have to repair properties, please include a 'repair all button.' That being the guy from before is a very cool idea! Also i hadn't considered them including seasons, that would be beautiful. I can see time of day being set for certain quests, if this is a balvarine quest, it being set at night would make sense too. Non-leathal take downs would be a great option for the game, but i have to say, hitting someone in the head with the hilt of a sword is a lethal technique irl. but then, this isn't irl, so who knows haha! With a game that focuses on moral choices, non-lethal takedowns would be nice, i don't really want to murder the petty thief, but i don't want to let him go either. thanks again for the thought out comment.

Subbed, I'm glad to see more people do analysis videos for Fable. 1:20 - It's actually the Fable 1 guild seal. Fable 3's was the size of a head, plus the Fable 1 Guild Seal was wearable and feasible to hold in your hand (ceremony at the beginning). Fable 2 & Fable 3 had crazy re-designs. And while this "looks like the image that you find on google", the truth is that they're all the same design inside, with Fable 1 being 'small'. 1:27 - Also I want to point out that that is a pen that is in the shape of Humphrey's Mace. 1:30 - Yes the portrait! I want to note that it's a Scythe Axe being carried by a woman in a red robe. 4:28 - So color dyes. Idk, it's possible. But I don't think, in 2024, they would "resort to dye". Truth be told, I think these potentially are potions. 6:47 - There is not yet, but don't tempt me lol. 7:06 - Actually, we sort of have in passing, if you will. Nostro's Shield lol. Although I'm not saying that Humphrey is Nostro, imagine if he was? 8:01 - Well yes, but also no. We didn't get shot from 'that' castle, but I'm positive that they took the idea of it and morphed it into Fable's original lore. Judging from the architecture, you can tell it's designed and modeled from Fable 1. I'd probably argue that the entire intention here was to expand upon what was created in later entries and mesh it into a prequel-esq entry; Something where they can have a good starting ground to reboot the series from. 8:17 - North & South, would be the accurate take, and I'm positive that's what they're going for. We have to remember that this is a reboot, and in order to do a reboot, they probably are going to take heavy inspiration from the first entry in many ways, while tipping the hat to the latter, or incorporating it in a unique way to mesh into their vision. 9:04 - That says "Odds & Sodds", which is a pun off The Who, but Sod is a type of soup. It's less of a "pub" and more of an eatery, or a General Shop if I had to guess. The The Cow & Corset was only in Fable 2. Fable 3 had The Cook in the Crown. 10:08 - Yeah, the Renown system. 10:15 - What I like here is that it shows the duality of renown -- Being Good, you get people that obsess over you, bad you get people that despise you. 10:39 - I think almost all of it is an attempt to smear the game or pressure the developer to bend the knee (so they can get a game that no one really wanted, which will tank the game), and so they can pretend that the entire problem with the game is political -- when literally in Fable 2 in 2008 you could change your gender not just at the start of the game, but as a quest for getting the castle lol. A large part of it is just stupidity, a secondary part of it is "xbox bad, microsoft bad, we must insinuate everything that we disagree with is an attack on us personally". Also you're correct. Fable 1 had one of the ugliest hero's in video game history, Fable 2 your characters were still, unironically, ugly. Fable 3 that sort of changed...but you were also "king/queen". 11:37 - I really hope not lol. If I had to guess, the Toads are probably something like the Wasps and various creatures in Fable 1. But it's possible from where 13:09 - I agree to some capacity, but I do hope that the duality of "good vs evil" is like Fable 1, where the perception on that isn't entirely one or another, and it's a collection of choices that depict a nuanced outcome, rather than a simple "kill the dog or give it medicine". 14:28 - Agreed, one thing I did enjoy about Fable 2 & 3 was the amount of unique side content. I do like how the choices impacted the world, but what I disliked was the choices itself, along with the lack of importance these choices actually made to the story. Where in Fable 1, they didn't impact the world but it did have slight outcomes on the story. 16:02 - Yup, plus the mace. At first I didn't even realize it was a mace, another RU-vidr actually queued me to realize "that's a mace" lol. 16:40 - Yeah, I mean that's traditional Fable in general, Fable 1 I liked it the most due requiring these in order to unlock specific magic. 18:44 - That would be the Guild Hall, correct. However, I don't think it's echoing that, as there are clearly hero's running around, with Humphrey not only saying he raised one, but in a scene after we see one. If you recall the lore before Fable 1, there was the divide in the Guild after Nostro which caused the guild to go through a sort of civil war. Essentially, I think they're doing that. I think what they're doing here is rebooting the series (almost entirely) and taking the original lore from the game, and morphing that into a story and plot that can expand beyond one game. That being said, I don't think it's a time "without heros". I think it's a time with Hero's choosing to be bandits, if you will. And I think that the antihero at the end, which I'll call her, essentially is trying to take it into her own hands, a different way. 19:42 - Agreed, he trolls in this look like an insane hybrid between Fable 1 and Fable 2. I understand that; I played Fable 1 in 2004, I was actually following the dev of it in 2003 when I first heard about it. Fable 2 changed a lot of the game which I personally disliked, but I like some of the concepts added into it. The Fable I hated was Fable 3 and after; Especially hated that Fable Legends didn't even have a story (they intentionally were never going to have it with a story), and it was literally a multiplayer game. 20:55 - I mean, I use to just slow time down and use "Double Hit" with the most powerful sword you can buy, and that's not even a speed running strat I don't think? It's just easier for me lol. I also agree, hopefully it moves around. 22:20 - Ooo good catch! 24:10 - I didn't even notice that she caught the projectile, good catch (pun intended). I'm hoping that's a potential gameplay mechanic. 24:42 - I have seen zero guns, and I'm very happy for that. I wanted Fable, if I wanted to play with guns I wouldn't be wanting to play Fable (imho lol). See, paying attention to the detail I can see that it's before Fable 1. From the architecture to the queues in how they're presenting the hero's, and all the bits between, I believe this is more so a unique take on the lore behind Fable 1, rather than between certain era games. If they did "between" them, I honestly would think it wouldn't be a Reboot, and I think they're going for "Reboot". 27:30 - Yeah, so my take is "antihero". The dialog screams "They aren't a villain, they're an antihero". 28:17 - It's not, though. Theresa never has a role besides aiding the character in a basic quest. While Theresa, as in the actual character in Fable 1, was only a seeress (and frail at that), they morphed her character into something that is God-like, rather than what she actually was. 28:34 - If it was Theresa, they would use the same or close to the same voice actress, Zoe Wanamaker. It's not Theresa lol. Additionally, I don't think they would go with a brand new character, but instead one that is so familiar but so unknown to the broad majority of players who never fully read every bit of lore of the game, imho. Like go up to anyone who just played Fable 1, 2 or 3, and ask them if they know who the court and the Void is 28:56 - Yes, that's my potential thought process. I believe Scarlet Robe would be more accurate here, especially since it fits both the bill & the lore of the series. She does wield a giant great axe. However, that's is a Battle Axe Scythe. Which would, actually, fit perfectly into the lore of the series. 29:37 - The reason why it wouldn't be the Queen of Blades is because the Court was Godly creatures from another realm (Coined "The Void") who controlled Albion. William Black essentially locked The Court into the Void with his "powers of Will". Essentially, if it was Queen of Blades, much like Jack of Blades in Fable 1, they wouldn't need any sort of mentoring or teaching, since they would be the ones who had Magic, while Human's typically didn't. "Hero's" didn't exist until the era of Will iirc, which is why there is that internal war of the Hero's about choices or something, which in turn is the lore behind "Why there is evil and good quests at the guild" for Fable 1. 29:44 - I think the Antagonist in this game will end up being The Court, or potentially a return of Jack of Blades toward the end, due to whatever is happening with Scarlet Robe. But that's all conjecture and assumption -- We won't know until we have more info. 30:05 - Correct, and I can see where you're coming from. That's why I think they're doing what they are doing. The Court could legitimately be a great villain for the series, and in turn Jack of Blades if provided enough context, story, and elements that warrant some sort of backstory. But otherwise, I don't think they would create entirely new lore and villains/creations since most of that was why the game series became so far removed with each iteration. Plus, this is a reboot. I think, imho, what they're trying to do is recapture the essence of "what could have been" a Fable 1 prequel if it was created in the modern era.

Hey, first off thanks for putting so much time effort and thought into this awesome response! I really appreciate it, I even learned quite a bit from it. I would say I know more than your average Hobbe, but there's still loads of hidden lore and background I don't know. I wrote, filmed, and edited this all in one go before watching any other analysis videos. I wanted to be sure I wasn't regurgitating someone else's content. I'll go check out some others now as I'm sure there's things I've missed. Thanks again for the great response.

So I commented this but you put so much effort into this comment I figured you’d enjoy it. I think it could be the queen of blades as (if they kept the lore solid) the queen of blades and the knight of blades sealed their souls into the masks that Jack of blades wears on his chest. Meaning someone could very well of found her mask and worn for “the power to save the guild”

Hey I checked out this video based on your recommendation from Reddit. I wanted to make sure to leave a comment here as well. I appreciate your insights and can't wait for another trailer to see how your thoughts change. Or if there are any details that confirm who this woman is. My only argument against the voice acting not being Zoe Wanamaker is that her voice is so iconic to this series that they would use it for the trainer to avoid spoilers. Just an additional thought. Thank you!

Thank you. I think the hero looks *normal* and I really cannot understand why this has been such a topic regarding this game. Jedi Fallen Order's protagonist isnt exactly Brad Pitt, also looked normal and that wasnt seen as an issue. Plus, Fable reboot hero looks quite a lot like the original hero in facial features. Im so excited for this game, more than any other. Loved the breakdown.

I got an idea that Humphrey is the knight of blades and this staff lady is the queen of blades. Fable is very distinct in color choice at times. A red cape in the reboot trailer can’t be an accident.
@HeyVintage
@HeyVintage 18 дней назад
that's a cool idea! It would be fun to see it play out. Like the knight of blades has decided to win over the public an be the hero, but the queen of blades isn't happy with it. so she's returned to mess things up.
@loganatkins1171
@loganatkins1171 26 дней назад
Figured you’d like this theory to support your queen of blades theory. Just like jacks mask promises power to people and then takes their bodies. The queen and knight of blades mask do the exact same thing AND Jack of Blades keeps their masks on his person. They are the 2 second masks you can see him wearing on his chest in fable 1.

I guess I'm old school but I really hope they bring back the mana bar. Always thought that Will in fable 2 and 3 was rather boring have to sit and charge spells to get the full output of a spell. If they could do a combo of spell mixing plus a mana bar I'd be a happy chicken chaser
@HeyVintage

I can totally see a mana bar working in a Fable game again. The spell charging always seemed to mess with enemy AI a bit too, they'd stand around and wait for you most of the time.

My feelings are very conflicted on which game I’d rather this be like. With these graphics and details you could make a fable 2ish game and we’d finally have a character like we seen on the box cover. But on the same note fable 1 is the bread and butter with a slap of jelly and we all know it.
