Damn, this is truly something special. As a huge Ford and Mustang fan, I'm so glad that you guys chose a unique vehicle and didn't just throw the V10 into a Foxbody.
This one has my attention specifically because I own a ‘99 Mustang cobra with the 4v Mod 4.6 v8 so I’m loving this build and watching these guys basically say F it and just figure the stuff out is what hot rodding is all about. My old man was fearless like that. Don’t know how to do something? That should never stop you. Fear of failure was always a stupid thing to be afraid of. Will you screw it up? Probably! Will you learn? Absolutely! And then next time it will be better, easier, and faster. I’m paraphrasing Edison a believe we he was quoting as saying I’ve figured out 99 ways on how to not make a lightbulb. When he was criticized for failing 100 times before being successful.
@mchristr Right on, heck this 800 HP NA 4V V10 would definitely be perfect for my friend's (Mike Koeing) 07 Mustang with a 4.0L V6 in it and I would call it Project Mike's Mustang.
If John Coletti doesn’t know who you guys are, he should. This is the exact sort of project he and his team at Ford used to make in the heyday of concept cars and SVT. I love this project, especially the fact that you are doing it to an OEM or better level. It’s by far one of my favorite builds on RU-vid.
The quality that you guys achieve while also learning this stuff is amazing. I’m really enjoying this series and I hope you guys find the success that you deserve on RU-vid
This is an absolutely terrific build. Love the pursuit of the “OE look”. This is going to look like it was built in one of the automaker’s prototype fab shops, the level is just off the charts for a home garage build. Incredible stuff!
I don’t get too excited for anybody’s RU-vid videos anymore but these guys certainly have given me that joy again! It makes me so happy to see a unique build and not the same cookie cutter builds that people do all the time.
Top notch work gentleman! For those complex bends, you could always draft up the design in solidworks or other modeling programs and use features to make it a sheet metal component and flatten it showing bend lines. Could make your lives a little easier! Love the build, keep it up!
You guys have progressed sooo far from the beginning. Your videos are produced as well or better than 1m+ channels. And more unique too. Keep it up and you’ll be giants. 2 big thumbs up.
The bead rolling is mandatory and so worth it, IMO. The beads stiffen the metal making it less likely resonate, helping with NVH. And it looks great like it was meant to be.
Great work guys, I need to do floors and transmission tunnel on my car, I bought a slip roller, pan brake, shear combo and a bead roller to get it done, I like the way you did it on your project
Love this project. The new firewall and transmission tunnel look fantastic. It's so cool the Lincoln will have a 6 speed manual transmission. Much more fun than an automatic.
All that welding, beading, bending, & seam-sealing is purefection 👌 I'm absolutely at my most relaxed & excited while I watch you guys! Another great thing is that you two seem like such approachable, normal, & honest dudes doing a diy project, even though you're highly skilled & have a wonderful shop. Lots of pros worry so much about their time, that they don't feel approachable or relaxing to talk to. It's like their hobby became too much of a business.
Be sure to upgrade the shift forks ... do not use 2018 shift forks as there was a supplier issue and I believe Ford changed the design to cast aluminum in 2018.
What a great project and y’all are doing a real bang up job (in a good way lol) I’m constantly looking for a new video and I keep checking to make sure RU-vid hasn’t unsubscribed me lol. This is definitely something to be proud of. Watching makes me really miss working in a shop with likeminded friends doing super cool stuff like this. Can’t understand why y’all don’t have 10 X more subs. Keep up the good work and make more videos faster cuz I’m probably as excited about this as you guys lol
I've always though the new Contis needed a fkn V8 or somethin. Its always been in my list of cars I'd live to motor swap a V8 and slam it with like 22's like the old school Contis. Super stoked to see thing running!
Loving the progress you guys are making, might I suggest using a product called Lizard Skin itll act as a sound and heat insulator. You can apply that on the underside and your feet wont burn up with the heat that transmission puts out
Great work! Please look up "welding galvanized precautions". You guys are doing so well that I would hate to see something like that cause you problems.
I searched "How to design an intake manifold" and stumbled unto you guys. Just finished binging every episode, truly amazing. I build and upgrade mostly German Cars myself, many many questions and if I had to pick one, did you learn all this at RU-vid University and Online? Or how? When I read Continental V10, I thought you were modifying a Bentley with a VR10 VW Engine. Ironically thats the one I wanna swap into my 2001 Chevy Blazer. After watching your ideas it got me thinking if I should consider an American V10. Subscribing now.......Using Progressive Trance during your time-lapses big plus!!!!!
It's hard to believe everything you're doing is for the first time. This continues to be incredible. Why not a T-56? Better trans. Better gear ratio options. Better aftermarket support. Either way, looking forward to the next one.
@@4x4Mudmaster T-56 came in the 03-04 Cobra which has a mod motor in it. If not a T56, why not a later model TR6060 from newer GT500's? A lot of factory Ford transmissions that are better than the MT-82.
PAINT THE ENGINE BAY!!! It's would be a waste not to at this point. Also I love the 6.8 v10 so much. My experience is from working the hell out of one. Id absolutely love to stuff one I to my 92' purple c4 Corvette
Just buy an MGW Limited shifter for a Mustang and then you won't need to worry about mounting the shifter to the transmission tunnel. Additionally benefit is that the MGW makes the MT82 shift like hot butter
I feel like a 6R80 would make more sense for this build, but I respect what you guys are doing, as it's not my build obviously. Really top notch sheetmetal work there, and I love your approach to all of this. Can't wait to see it driving!
