not true, you can use external braces to fix underbite, and they can be used only at home to avoid bullying, i was born with mandibular prognatism of the highest degree and fixed it with only braces, I started this process when i was 12 and it lasted 6 years (the underbite was fixed at around the 3 years mark), I don't know how much my age affected the process so it could be possible that for and adult it would take longer or maybe not even be possible.

I dont recomend orthodontic camouflage. His maxila will still be recessed. The thing is we dont know the degree of the recession or the jaw alliegnment.

@@neroangelo2028 also a lot of orthos dont even mention that the person needs surgery, in most cases orthondontic decompensation + surgery is the most correct way to fix the problem both from an functional and aesthetic standpoint. Instead they do camouflage and sometimes it wont even work so people spend years and years with the braces to find out later that they needed the surgery. I have seen too many of this cases man.
