These historical people changed the world forever and now you can see them once again, in full color. Celebrities of their day, their impact is still being felt in the modern era, with fields such as engineering, nursing and the arts still influenced by their remarkable lives.
I used Photoshop to bring to life these Black and White photos from the past. Restoring and colorizing these portraits using technology and artistic skill to help these people be seen as they once were!
Please let me know which of these restored photographs is your favourite!

Here's a small suggestion. What if you were to colorize some of Titanic's Passenger and Crew. I personally would love to see some of the passengers such as Thomas Andrews, Molly Brown, Captain Smith, Bruce Ismay, and other figures colorized. Thanks!

Just found this channel, these are stunning! After watching your presidential videos, I just got to ask? would it be ok for me to use these (with credits of course) in my history lessons? Im a History highschool-teacher in Sweden, and I think your idea of making historical persons and pictures more relateable fantastic! These would be real nice for powerpoint material, but I thought I ask first. P.S Even if its not ok to use, just wanna say that your work is amazing. (thuu I might be biased concerning historical photographs as a history teacher)

Hey, I have a question and it might sound stupid. Do you think Paint.net can also be used to colorize photos? I have an easier time using paint.net than photoshop, although I use photoshop too to polish some damages before I do the colorizing process. I hope you can answer my question, and perhaps make a video to show results and compare it to photoshop and other usefull programs. Anyway, keep up the good work!

I’d strongly recommend studying how portraitists use colour. Human skin tones are far more complex than this, which is why these retouched photos almost always look oversaturated and unnatural. In any Caucasian face, for example, you’ll find tons of green, blue, yellow, grey, and the usual range of pinks. The effect achieved in photo colourisation is what is called “colour blocking” - the absolute first stage in a portrait. And the old rule of painting should always be adhered to in achieving a good result: “Better grey than garish”; look at any master portraitist’s work and you’ll see that the hues are exceptionally muted. Often that’s achieved by a grisaille underpainting with layers upon layers of very thin glaze on top.
