I’ve been watching this dudes videos since my sophomore year of high school where my team only had 5 kids on it and not much of a coach to talk about. Now I used his videos to COACH that same high school team of 20+ kids now and I’m a 1-0 Amateur fighter with a 56 second submission win. Thank you Cayden.

@@sebastianvaldes6979 i got cheated out of 1st in middle, i had to settle for 2nd the reffs stole my 1 escape point which would have won me the whole turny. my coach got thrown out for saying the reffs were cheating. I used one move that torny and i pinned everyone in under 60 sec, and chocked a kid out. the move is the bulldog. i lived by that move. if you dont know it look it up.

SO glad I discovered this channel, it's very fun to watch your experience as a college wrestler and see you grow. I started wrestling this year in HS and did pretty well (4-0 Junior Varsity, 3-3 (one was a forfeit) Varsity.) That was a tough match but you did pretty damn well against the guy and I believe that if you keep working hard you can make it to his level once you're a junior in college (pretty sure I saw it say you were a freshman and he was a junior.)

I wanna say thank you I have been wrestling since 7th grade and I’m in 10th now I keep grinding forward and you have helped me with getting into a good mindset. My coaches always told me to trust the process and I just took all of the pain, anger, and sadness out on the mat and took it out on my opponent.

Good job kid! A word from an old wrestler: come off-season, dedicate yourself to heavy squats and deadlifts a couple of days weekly. Old school heavy lifting. It made a HUGE difference in my ability. I found that when getting caught underneath, like when you were exiting the back door, having that explosive strength will allow you to literally jump to your feet and heist through with speed and power! A good off-season program strength program will allow you to do everything better! Love your videos!

Good match, the difference was he adjusted to your takedowns. After that first stalemate I would have loved to see you hit a double or anything with your head on the outside of the legs. Overall great effort and looking forward to your progression.

One thing I noticed right away was the two on one he had on your left arm. Remember wrist out and transitioning to an under hook could be a big momentum changer in the match. You get that under hook then transition to your number 1 takedown off of it and it’s a different match entirely. You can definitely get him next time keep working.

You got a practice partner that attacks hard on the feet? If not, find one! Spend time daily on feeling the shot and hitting a sprawl. Find a tough rider to practice the down position. You need to work sitouts to spin outs. That tall wrestler won’t get a leg in cause you can catch it on the way in and spin out for an escape. Find an explosive bottom guy to practice your ride. You really need to work on your top pressure. Have you ever worked a spiral ride? I’m rooting for you. You should stop by Askren wrestling academy sometime.
