Looks like a real car! Windsheild wipers that actually work, gasketed windows, real side-view mirrors, and a fully finished interior. With a build of this quality, there's NO reason to spend $180,000 on a comparable Superformance Daytona.
Hi Paul, I followed your build on the forum and picked up a lot of great ideas. Our Gen 2 is just getting finished for paint and interior. Yours looks great and is finished to a high level. I was concerned with getting the fit of the hood and doors correct as well as improving the insulation and sound deadening. Not sure about yours as a “daily driver”, but before ours went under the knife back in July it was like driving inside an oven especially if caught in traffic as I was coming home from a show… ear protection was also necessary. We ended up redesigning the exhaust system into a 2into1 with a “muffler” (still not very quit though) and a perforated heat shield to keep from tattooing my calf and the liability from a passenger’s doing the same.
Thanks. Mine has double insulation throughout, which helps for heat. But we still run the A/C on warm days and it's fine. The Gas-N pipes I have are better than stock. But still a bit noisy. Having the dual pipes like the original was a requirement for me. So not going to change anything. We wear ear protection whenever we drive and it's not an issue. The side pipes can certainly bite. But after driving Cobras for a number of years, they're much more tucked in and not an issue if you're careful. We drive ours as much as we can. But it's a fair weather car and driving during Michigan winters just isn't something we do. So it's not a daily driver. Good luck with yours.
Great looking coupe! Can I ask where you got your reverse lights in the back? If you have a part # I would appreciate that - I'm nearing the end of my coupe build and would like to add those.
I'm not a golfer so can't give actual experience. But several have commented when seeing the hatch area behind the seats that there's room for golf clubs. You decide. Measures 41" front to back. 55" when measured diagonally.
