Watched this video and BOOM... found it for my daughter. Dealership told me I had to go to Ford Dealership to get it... Nope...it's a tight window but I turned flash on and recorded...slid phone up and then replayed video... Was able to pause and zoom in and there it was. Perfect! Thanks for this. *subscribed!! 2016 Ford Escape SE
Own a 2016 Escape with no key code for years. Found mine just as he explained and it works just fine, use it all the time . Big thanks for making and sharing this video.
Once I removed the cloth, I did not have to reach up there. I just tilted my head and looked up there with a flash light and I could see the sticker with my naked eyes. Thanks man. You really helped me. My gf will never get locked out with this vehicle.
Today ,I wash the escape & clean the inside, change the oil,and I figure out how to sync our cellphones and thanks to you mister I found the key less entry code GOOD WORK.
I called the dealer thinking they would do it as a courtesy but they asked for $65 in order to do it. So I rushed to they RU-vid and found your helpful video. Mine is 2015 ford escape titanium. I was leaning on my left shoulder looking to the right corner with working light. Boom , it was just there . Thank you.
I watch 4 videos before I came to your video, your is the one who really show me where the code really was on my 2014 escape,I went to the dealer today here in Texas the want me to charge me $75,some guy a the dealer came outside and talk to me and told me what to do where kind it was and told me to youtube it.Thank you very much for saving some money Tony
Thank you!!!!! This is the ONLY video (of several I looked at) that explained how to find it! Fortunately I was able to get a flashlight and look straight up (thanks for telling EXACTLY where to look) while on my back with legs all sticking out passenger side LOL! Saw the code and it worked perfectly!!!
Sorry for such a late reply- you and me both, haha- there's no real easy way to do it without bending over backwards, lol. Here's to shameless success hahaha. Thanks for the feedback and checking out the channel!
Thanks worked great - didn't have to remove the glove box. I was able to unsnap the fuse junction box on the bottom, and pull it down far enough to read the code. Thanks again for saving me $50.00.
Awesome! Glad it was helpful and you were able to save some cash! Thanks for the feedback and let us know if there's something specific you'd like to see. Consider subscribing to the channel to help out our SEO rankings to reach other drivers!
LOL!! I was able to stick in my iPhone 6 thru the gap, took like 5 pictures until I got it... I cant believe it was that easy. been driving my car for years without knowing the code, or how to change it … THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
This video is such a hugeeeee help. Been locked out sooo many times this will save me a lot of time and money in the future. I have a 2016 Ford Escape. All you need is your smartphone camera and some good positioning and there the code is. Also don't have a car starter so now I'm not paranoid when I'm warming my car up and leaving the keys in the car in the winter 😊😊
Oh wow thank you Ebony- sorry you've been dealing with this for so long! Glad you have some peace of mind! If you want to reprogram a personal code using this factory code we have another video on our channel for that too! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and let us know if there's anything else we may be able to help with. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
emerysl1974 Hey, thanks so much! Yeah the info is ask there, so I'm glad you were able to find it! Great to know our vehicles as best we can- that's why this channel exists, so thanks for the great feedback! I'll get your shirt made and shipped out early this week- take care!
To anyone trying this, the first method works very well. You don't even need tools to pull out the plastic nuts. Just go in with a light after removing the panel, and open/close your right or left eye to see the code clearly through all the openings in the brackets and wire harnesses that are in the way.
If you have an iphone and an apple watch you can stick the phone underneath the dash board and use the camera app on watch to locate the bar code and take a picture using the watch.
I used this one today. Bought a used '13 Escape for my daughter recently. Dealer did not have this code. Told me that Ford would charge to "re-program" the vehicle with a new code. I took the glove box out and snapped a pic and saved some money. Thanks. I also had to replace a battery on that pig today as well. Watched your battery video and it was out and in relatively painlessly. I am NOT a mechanic at all. Thank you so much! One question: Been getting a "low coolant" alert on this vehicle, any known issues with the radiator system?
I saw another video - it looked dealer made - that said we could get our codes using both of our keys. (It didn’t work for me, though) His instructions: ~ put first key in ignition and turn it on. ~ turn off ignition and take key out ~put second key into ignition and turn it on Then, your code is supposed to appear on screen, where the gas mileage etc is. Like I said, it didn’t work for me. But, my car is used so I figure maybe one of my keys is not original, or something. Maybe it’ll work for someone else, though. Thanks for the video.
This is MUCH easier.. hold one key at a time (need both) next to side of column (near key cutout mark) and turn to acc on (not start), wait 5 secs, do next key same and read out code on dash.
Hi @jacky08, I'm not sure at this point in time. I've only had access to my '13, and have verified that the placement of the sticker is the same with models up through '16. I'll see what I can do to find out more for you!
Hey thanks for the question- I haven't had to do that yet on mine, but there has been talk on FordEscape.org that you have to drive at least 2 miles over 20mph for the sensor to trigger off. This is all assuming you're already at the recommended PSI per wheel as stated on the sticker in the door jam/ manual. Give that a try and if it doesn't work, come back and let me know- I'll see what else we can dig up! Thanks for checking out the channel! Glad you're finding the videos helpful!
This video was very helpful. I'll have to find the code for my wives 2015 Escape Titanium. I was trying to program a third smart remote for a emergency backup and could not find the slot the new remote was supposed to go into. There is a shelf above the 12v power supply in the center consule but there doesn't seem to be a specific place for the remote to sit in and it will not program. Can you help me with this issue ??? Fred Z
I just bought a 2016 Ford escape. Are you sure this will work so I can reset the key pad? The dealer I bought it from is 2.5 hours away and the local dealer wants to charge me $60 to do it.
Thank you so much thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank U thank You
Hi @Auto, thanks for posting- honestly, the only other ways to find the keycode are inside the vehicle, so if you're locked out, the best options off the top of my head would be to A) contact a locksmith/ auto service to use a slim-jim to get you side, OR B) bring the VIN to your dealer and have them take a look to find the key code for you. If there was a way to find out without being inside the car, it wouldn't be a very safe or secure feature, hah. I'm just sorry that you're on the unfortunate side of the game with your focus! Good luck!
Hi Joanne- sorry that was what you found - thats strange- mind me asking what year and engine your Escape is? Might be able to look something up for you.
@@pavli1800 there is the red glowing keypad on the drivers side door/window trim that allows you to have an entry code to unlock your car if you don't have your keys with you. This scenario could be if you went for a run at a park and lock your keys in your vehicle or something similar while you're exercising...anything like that...anyhow... IF you are buying your escape secondhand and it has the previous person's personal code programmed, then this factory code with allow you to overwrite the previous personal code and create your own new personal code.
Hi Steve, I unfortunately don't have access to a Taurus as the Escape in these videos is my personal vehicle. However, I do believe that other Ford vehicles operate in similar ways with the keyless entry pad. Thanks for checking out the channel!
