@@therumjiggler6879 he probably have never seen Deoxys in person but i think he found out about the existence of it and the meteorite and kept it in secret so the other scientists wouldn't know about it. So their former goal was to go to space and investigate the space virus, but Archie refused (assuming he probably feared that Jirachi might be living somewhere in space and die from a Doom Desire something like that) and that's how the beef comes in. It could possibly be and how they parted their ways to help/wipe off humanity. Though this is just how i speculated their pasts or something.

It never dawned on me that Jirachi and Deoxys were a pair of mythicals, but it really makes sense with the whole out space motif they have.

pokemon masters has manga references so it makes sense that would be allowed to use darker stuff since the manga is gory.

@@BJGvideos Um.... Not sure how you see them as full fledge villains but sure i guess? They weren't villains. They were just dedicated to their research. Arven didn't know they died until after we brought him down. He thought they abandoned him instead. Were they the best of parents? No. But that doesn't make them villains. hence why i said "villains" in quotes. They're not the usual type of villain. Just made out to seem like one.

Lusamine, for example: you could say that she’s not truly a villain in the sense that she’s dedicated to her ultra beast research to try and get her husband back and neglected her children in the process. In her case, she ends up either becoming so obsessed with ultra beasts she’s willing to destroy Alola to get them, or going off to catch Ultra Necrozma to save Alola, and in the real Sada and Turo’s case, they were willing to sacrifice Paldea’s environment to bring interdimensional pokemon to the present day, stating that their environment abnormalities were “a fact of life.” Here’s another example to throw out there: Colress. In the games at least, he was just a scientist researching the bond between people and Pokémon, and the only reason he’s a part of team plasma is to further said research. He does no actual harm in the games, and actually is a pretty useful ally in alola. I wouldn’t consider him a real villain, but technically speaking he is one in BW2. In conclusion, Sada and Turo may not be intended to be painted as villains, but they’re still the region’s main villains regardless

@@BJGvideosI believe a more appropriate term would be to call them antagonists, their actions were the catalyst for most of the plot, but not necessarily evil in the way that constitutes villainy.

Honestly, Hoenn's story could have been so much better if the two teams had started as one, but split off into two. Say, Maxie and Archie worked for an organization that studied the environment, and the organization determined that Kyogre and-or Groudon were starting to wake up, so the organization created two teams, each with the purpose of studying one of the legends, to try to find a way to divert the coming disaster, with Maxie and Archie being selected as team leaders. They aren't introduced as antagonists, but they do become increasingly desperate over the course of your interactions with them, and eventually, one or both of them comes into contact with one of the orbs, Maxie with the Red Orb in Ruby and Emerald, and Archie with the Blue Orb in Sapphire and Emerald. The orbs, physical manifestations of the wills of Kyogre and Groudon respectively, then compelled Maxie and Archie to return the orb to the respective legend. This wouldn't be out of place, as the orbs showed this effect in both the anime and the manga, and it's only in the games where the orbs were treated as inert objects without their own will. In Ruby and Sapphire, the non-afflicted team attempts to figure out what happened to their counterpart and tries to stop them. In Emerald, with both teams being afflicted by an orb, they start to fight each other as a manifestation of the animosity between the two legends. In either case, we, the player, get drawn up into the conflict, and it's only after the Titans are subdued and the orbs are sealed away on Mt. Pyre that those afflicted by them realize what was happening, that they had been used to bring about what it was that they were trying to prevent, and that if they hadn't been so desperate to try to use the orbs, Kyogre and Groudon likely wouldn't have awoken in the first place. That storyline, I think, would have resulted in a more compelling character-driven arc for both teams that went beyond "Imma commit eco terrorism because I like land/water - oh, wait, that's _bad_??? Why did no one tell me!?", and it would have made the regret that Maxie and Archie expressed at the end actually feel justified and more real.

I remember years ago seeing some fanart of Maxie and Archie as Team Rocket members implying that the organization they were in was Team Rocket. I don't know if there's Canon evidence for that or if it's just a theory/headcanon people have come up with.

What if we/they had to kill kyorge/Groupon to stop it waking up? What's a worse crime, allowing the whole world to be destroyed, or destroying 1/2 pokemon?

Volo is the villain, Kamado only made the mistake of casting the player out from the village. Me personally, I would say I would have been angry enough to admass an army of Alpha Lopunny♀️ and burn the village to the ground, but luckily Pokemon Games don't have a morality mechanic.

@@coolguy5133 It had more than one villain. Kamado threatens to go to war with the clans if they help you, and Beni very strongly implied that Kamado has ordered him to kill before and will do so again.

@@BJGvideos he was a man just doing what he thought he must. Kamado and the other founding villagers did supposedly leave Galar because of the Original Darkest Day and possibly lost almost everything. Volo is a real villain because he mad because God never answered his prayers.

Kamado was going to go to war with the local clans if they aided you, and Beni is very heavily implied to have killed on Kamado's orders before. Agreed on the AIs and professors. Idk why so many people don't consider the professors to be villains. Like wtf did you play the game.

In the manga canon, yes. Since Colress was made a complete, unreformed villain in it, they had to use a disguised characters to make "him" appear in Alola.

But both of them have the SAME painting too, of a redheaded man, in a different art style. The assumption is that this is the vaunted Ancient Hero. Go to one of the houses and look at this picture.
