They did, actually. Then a Illinois Judge decided that her removal was improper because they hosted an emergency election the same day she was recalled.
She had a criminal record before she even ran for mayor, and she won in a landslide. I would assume the majority there are proud of the actions of the criminal they voted into office.
She ran the town into a money pit due to her own greed and selfishness. The sad part is the towns people will end up paying a hefty price. Be careful who you vote for.
The fact that she wasn't charged over a year ago for corruption really reflects the state of the justice system in Illinois. Now, the voters get to pay.....
fortunately I live in St Louis which believe you me has its fair share of problems however I've known for years that Illinois is by far the most corrupt state in the Union and it's people like this that bolster that worrying statistic
She has devastated an entire city's existence and changed the life of every citizen, added hardship, without an ounce of care. She deserves life in prison.
She needs to be removed immediately. She should also be jailed, or at minimum under house arrest and tethered, until a full investigation and audit of her activities has been completed. Another great example of DEI at its finest.

The cost of the vehicle is only half of the cost. All of the aftermarket equipment(lights, siren, cameras, cage, radios, etc) that is installed can easily add up to $30-$40k per vehicle. What a mess.

BREAKING-Former Mayor of Hempstead, TX has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for many of the same behaviors. He was caught in an audit. Downside---It took years and has left ongoing repercussions for the citizens. But, better late than it continues.

The city council needs to hold an emergency meeting or meetings to see what happened and what will happen. Justice needs to be done now, not in the future remember tomorrow never comes. It's always a day away.

This mayor exposes how broken our local gov is. In San Diego the mayor didn’t service the storm drains the entire time he’s been in office. On Jan22 there was ONE DAY of rain and hundreds of homes flooded and the people are now sleeping in their car. He acts like he’s helping people but really the mayor and County aren’t doing anything for the people. Any other job he would have gotten fired. Same with this mayor. We need more community involvement in EVERYTHING politicians do.
