Okay, this episode is for all the Plant Nerds out there with a capital “P” and “N”. This behind-the-scenes tour with Chad Husby, Botanical Horticulturist at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens is nearly 30 minutes (yes, I said a half hour) of pure plant palaver. Husby drops knowledge bombs like trees drop leaves in Autumn and we highlight over 30 plant species, (more than 1 per minute!), which should keep you hooked to the screen.
I should also say that I’m not in frame this time around b/c I was totally a one-woman show on this interview, so you’ll hear me chiming in off camera. I could have easily turned this into a 3-part episode-as Chad took me through well over a hundred species-but decided to keep this brief but meaty, particularly for all the folks who INSIST that I must have longer episodes (Believe me, you’re in the minority)!
Alright, hope this satisfies your plant urges!
Oh, and this episode is lovingly produced by Michael Chu-A-Kong, Founder of The Rloveution, who thoughtfully gave to my Kickstarter for How to Make a Plant Love You: Houseplant Masterclass.

10:53 in Indonesia, that plant called by "sirih merah" (Maybe Piper ornatum (?)); "Sirih" means "Piper betle", "merah" means "red". Sometimes the striped colored by red, sometimes white, sometimes dissapear. Shade is one of the factors. :-DD

You should wear that vibrant blue more often. It really goes well with your skin tone etc. I'm just discovering your youtube channel and I'm overdosing on all the info, plants, etc. I am loving it! I grew up in the VA/NC Blue Ridge Mts. I've lived in Honduras, Philippines, Japan, Korea. Now I live in the far west Texas desert outside of Big Bend National Park. I enjoy the diversity of plant life here also and have a small green house. But all the lushness of the plants your showing is wonderful since I miss the humidity, environment of the east coast mountains. That was a wonderful video of the Cactus man btw.

A little bit of a cop out answer to the "How do you know you didn't buy the last one?" question. I know that even the best botanical garden collectors will do that..they will also smuggle seeds too! Its either take now or never get a chance again is their thinking.

And hey, you guys form a line, everybody get behind me no cutting in line!
