You put the Word in you by reading it and it's the Holy Spirit's job to cause you to remember and recall. The Holy Spirit brings it out at the appropriate time. When you need it. God is Faithful and would not have you ignorant, my beloved brethren.

Memorization was on my mind. I was just thinking about it last night. We need to memorize now. Terrifying to think the Bible can be taken away. It will be someday.😔

Scripture doesn't suggest memorization... But He(Jesus) answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” Matthew 4:4 and Deuteronomy 8:3 It's our manna from Heaven...so we must consume it. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." ~2 Timothy 3:16 & 17 We shouldn't get caught up in the memorizing of scripture... "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." Hebrews 4:12 & 13

I wish my church would stand for the reading of the Word before the sermon is preached. Some Calvary Chapel churches I watch online do this and I think it is powerful.
