Went to my Toyota Dealership because I thought I got a fake one from Amazon. Put them side by side and they were exactly the same. So I guess Dealerships sell fake ones too. There were no arrow marks on the box and the lettering on the filter wasn't bright white, holograms were identical. I don't know what to believe now????
Its not fake, its made from different factory. Lots of bulk products now are outsourced from different factory with same brand. Factories differ from machines they used.
You didn’t mention where you bought the filters. Is the original from a dealer and the fake one online? Walmart? And what is proof that your genuine filter is really a Toyota genuine OEM?
I used cheap Fram + Supertech oil and air filters which ever is cheaper from Walmart and Ebay + Amazon for over 20 years with no issue on Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Infiniti and Lexus.. So what is the fuss with cheap stuffs? Treat it like generic brand.
You take your chances when you buy from anyone except an authorized Toyota dealer. You save $3 for a totally inferior oil filter that disintegrates and blows your engine. The inside is CRAP! Either go to the Dealer or Go to NAPA AUTO PARTS GOLD OIL FILTER (about $13) and get their Oil Filters for twice the Toyota price but Made in USA by Mann Filter, Germany. ASE Master Tech 30 years.
Only the outside look ? What about the function ? Same or different ? The outside looks isnot important. You must do a function test. Actually, the size of the filter is not specially made or design by oem, there are many same size filter out there with others brand and the function is almost the same.
@@playstation2bigs "Don't judge the book from it's cover" please 🙏🙏🙏. Is this all only about the out side looks ? Will the outside looks make any different to your engine perfomance ? Or The different of outside looks will make any demage to your engine ? Really a funny boy 😂😂😂
Bought REAL Toyota filters..... 5 count.....for just over $20 for all, from my local Toyota dealer's web site, for pick up at the dealer. By the way, bought the taller filter....the 90915-YYZF1....and all the real filter boxes did NOT have the little arow on the box.
I will by MINE at dealership!! Pisses me off for fakes. We spend alot of money & jst yryn to save here & there jst not worth it. Thank u, how would we ever know???
IF you buy one from a Toyota dealership and put it in the car youtself or have a service by them it the real thing the last thing they don't want customers to take legal action or lose their franchise with Toyoto . Aky yourself this are you more likely to get a fake one from the internet than a Toyota dealershipe .
Rarely go to wallmart. P/U one there (pre video). No number at all on botton of filter, no check, no arrow mark on box either. Lettering on filter looks A-OK. made in Thailand. Just where is a credible place to purchase a non FAKE? Appreciate any feedback ..Thx
@@landshass2849. Have you cut one open to confirm, I bought only once at Walmart because I didn't want to drive all the way to my local dealership, the funny thing that the dealership has them for 5 dollars and Walmart has them for 7 dollars. I'm just going to buy a half dozen at a time at the dealership I have a Corolla and a Camry both use the same filter.
The Toyota dealer oil filters are competativly priced. Why buy any were else? Now Hyundai, there I feel riped off. Still you usually get what you pay for.
You know what would of happened if you used the fake one? Absolutely nothing . premium or knockoff they both absorb oil and breakdown internally the same way
@@anonymousinc6330 they don't . at the shop I work at the filters are so generic there are only numbers on them . Never once has any of them come back destroyed by doing the job it's supposed to do. I bet the filter he claims are "toyota" are fake as well .
@@danh2134 There's a video on YT showing the counterfeit oil filter elements crush easily under even light pressure where the genuine Toyota ones do not. There's a difference between generic filters that are made for oil filtration versus some jackass making one out of inferior materials and selling it as a factory part under superseded part numbers.
@@playstation2bigs yes mate... your safety is your priorities and for you and your family... i just stockup 3pcs filter from CASA, even vios model use the same filter and thread...
@@jaysmith179 Yeah made for Toyota to their specs...Lots of counterfeit products & Toyota parts on Amazon... buying a filter at the dealer in a box that says made in China is 100% better than buying it from Amazon.
