About the Eskimo words for snow... As a German, I can confirm that is exactly the crazy shit we do with words. Ha! The whole German language is basically root words, with the descriptors making them into compound words. One of my favorite examples is that the word for "gloves," is "Handschuhe" which (is pretty easy to see), literally translates as "hand-shoes."

Hey, I dropped my old phone in the toilet (yes, literally), and it was as dead as can be. 3:35 obviously not investigated by anyone living remotely, I live on a island over 50km into the bush and up a mountain in literally the middle of nowhere and lifting my phone in certain spots does indeed give me full bars while around 2 ft below in the same spot I get 1 bar and no LTE/Data connection (even have dead spots in my place) ;but held up I get bars and am able to use my LTE/Data.

The other thing about the non-football parts of the "Christmas truce" story is that while it was probably the friendliest contact across enemy lines during the entire war, it was also a fairly common occurrence for temporary ceasefires to be arranged. Mostly for burying the dead after they'd been rotting in No Man's Land for weeks and no one could stand the smell any more, and sometimes while that was going one the soldiers would trade cigarettes and buttons and stuff. Just had to comment on 7:55. As an avid viewer of both [Business] Brain Blaze and Biographics, I have come to experience that knowledge from this channel carries on to Simon's other channels. Which is the reason why I haven't watched the Biographics on Tolkien or Pratchett. The latter is my favorite author - a man whose works I love and adore, and who I personally respect. I do know, however, that Simon personally seems to hate/passionately dislike anything fantasy ("drivel"), which makes it very hard to watch those documentaries. He doesn't have to be a fan, or like them. But I know he can't stand the material, and that also colors my viewing of these topics. Not everyone has to like the same things, but when I know Simon could not care less about some topics he covers on his fact videos - the politeness and respect feels fake, forced and uncomfortable.
