The one thing that I definitely take away from this situation is that Mr Arthur Blank is one heck of a class guy! Consistently with who he is, he never cuts a man out of his job before the completion of the season.

Mainly the dline, oline is solid, they didn't have the best year this year but I think the oline will be fine, still no real pass rushers and without Jarett it was even worse. How about no ints this year from any db?? That's a crazy stat.

The Falcons have made 7 playoff appearances since he’s been with the team. I’m not a Falcons fan, just an outsider looking into a poorly ran franchise. This team is at the bottom of the NFL totem pole near other bad franchises like the Cardinals. Maybe he does know some stuff about football, but not enough to put his team into a great position. Terry will get a true evaluation! The Falcons organization screwed up the hiring process, selecting the head coach before the GM. Terry has done a marvelous job getting us out of Cap hell! What the Falcons' organization seems to lack is the common sense to go after & recruit top talent (we should've aggressively pursued Lamar!), but EVERYTHING begins with acquiring a transcendent QB. EVERYTHING! Why did we acquire Marcus Mariotta when he was at best just an average QB??? Ridder & Heineke are average at best. If we can land him, I say let's get Coach Harbaugh from Michigan, and Caleb Williams or Penix Jr as QB.

That's not what saved Terry. Yes, he's done an admirable job thus far but what saved Terry. The Falcons organization screwed up by hiring the head coach before selecting the GM. Normally it's the GM responsibility to bring in the head coach. All personnel decisions and authority went to Arthur Smith, when in fact it's the position designated for the GM. Now Terry will be able to bring in the coach of his choosing!

The coach needed one more year. This was premature and we will regret it. This is the best defense since the "Grits Blitz" defense of the late 70s. They need a new quarterback, not a new coach. The players believed in him but the quarterback blew about 4 or 5 games. Take that into account and we win 11 games. Smh

Go watch the end of the Carolina game in December. If Smith had let Carolina score, we would have been guaranteed to get the ball back with a chance to try to score. Instead, Carolina ran out the clock with a chip shot field goal. Smith was terrible at clock management and was not going to get any better.
