Fall Smelt Fishing New England (Part 1 of 2) 

I'm from Mich. & just found your channel. I am a Smeltaholic that fishes for them on open water & through the ice. Love your videos. Showing folks how to do it & not using your videos as a bragging board. I am hoping to do some videos in the next month similar to yours. Our style of fishing is similar but w/ much lighter tackle. Our Smelt are a bit smaller. Much respect for what you are doing, keep it up .

Our fish shacks hadvhundred lines in water 50+ tears ago. Here in Pacific Nottwest we just use dip nets from banks or boatsno poles or hooks. At times one dip could be ovrr 10 pounds. Once we had no limits and I would sake 25 pounds, and eat maybe a dozen fish. Today we are limited to 10 pounds Nonr of them are worth time oreffort to fry more than one meal. 6:59

I'm in nh try smelt fishing every year with no luck. I usually hit the smelt camps up in maine

Double uni knot instead of the blood knot. Way easier.
