I nearly bought that place about 35 years ago. It had no electricity, no gas, no piped water, no sewage and almost no roof. It was almost derelict but it was in a stunning location next to Falling Foss waterfall. Sadly, after a lot of soul-searching, I concluded that the costs and difficulty of renovating it were beyond my capabilities, but the people who did buy it did an amazing job and it's a must visit place.
Thanks to you and Mrs M for taking the time to have a chat with us in Whitby yesterday evening. Hope you both had a lovely evening. The blonde haired lady and the husband with the broken head 😂
Went walking there during the derelict conditions...36yrs ago.....Midge Cottage...we went inside...all overgrown...yet still walks...beautiful...however... renovated and opened to the public.....on the fence about that....🤔?.....still a lovely video...keep them flowing...❤❤xx
Not been there for a few years - but they used to get the bacon from Jacksons of Ruswarp so no wonder its good. The scones are baked on premises and are the best we have ever had anywhere. We normally park at Maybecks and walk the other side of the Foss to Littlebeck and then back on the Midge Hall side; by the time we get there a bacon butty is very welcome!
Hello Sir Simon, got to be said. The divine Mrs M has not got a career in the world of advertising 😂😂 honesty might be the best policy, but you can't not love the lady. Good to see responsible dog owners 🐶💩well done Mrs M. Very nice area for tea and a sandwich. A well filled bap/cob or roll is a joy for all. Not the same majestic effect as Victoria Falls, but still very pretty & relaxing. Tally ho 🐕🦊🐎Allan&Family
A bit argumentative Simon. We enjoyed it for a good dog walk & our Billy had a nice swim too. Its not really a tea rooms though. Well it wasn't when I was there with my sister. What we had was nice though 😊
Wife and I drove to Littlebeck years ago, left the car and set off to walk to falling foss. Back then I seem to remember the route was a bit arduous even though we were much fitter back then. Been back since in the car and you're right, it is a lovely place. Take care you two.
Lovely place only problem is is the slope back up to the car park. Nice walk around and a paddle in the pool was quite refreshing. This was 4 years ago since we last went to Falling Foss. Loved the video and hope the place is open in October as that bacon butty looked tempting.
Just spent 4 days in Whitby but did not see you out and about. Followed your recommendation and went to the Ruswarp butchers for a great value quality sandwich and a cup of tea.
You’re spot on with latte being just milk . My husband found this out in Rome ,when he asked for 2 latte’s & he was given hot milk haha.He should have asked for Cafe latte’s 🤣🤣
This morning I devoured 30 Smoked Bacon rashers in one sitting, took me just 35 minutes; I used kitchen scissors to trim the fat before sitting down to eat. Sometimes I devour a BIG cooked breakfast consisting of 3 Chilli Sausages, 10 Smoked Bacon rashers, 6 Fried Eggs, 4 Hash Browns, 3 large fried Mushrooms, and a whole tin of sweet chilli Baked Beans.
Good luck with the permanent move to Whitby 4 years we moved from Birstall to Snainton don’t regret the move at all only down side is the Curry’s ain’t as good over here so we stock up like you guys when we pay a visit back to Birstall OASIS Bradford Road is our favourite and spices and rices Batley
Go to Whitby 2 or 3 times a year and you can find reasonably priced cafes and snacks don’t have to accept it just cos it’s Whitby not everyone is well off like you
