Fallout (2024) Trailer *REACTION & COMMENTARY* Will This Video Game Work As A Series? 

This kind of comedy is not just thrown to make horror interesting. It's iconic for Fallout franchise.

They're people in armor called power armor, they're called the brotherhood of steel, just one of many different factions in the fallout franchise, if you want there is plenty of RU-vid videos that delve into the lore and history of the franchise, they day the bombs dropped was October 23rd 2077 and this series takes place after fallout 4 which takes place in 2286 in the timeline of the fallout franchise. I am a huge gamer, and I normally don't like when they make movie or series from games. I find them to be flat... but this looks AMAZING. I am so jazzed for it!

The actress playing Lucy is Ella Purnell, of "Yellowjackets" and more notably "Arcane" (the character Jinx). This teaser definitely captured the Fallout vibe and had a good mix of serious, chaotic, and humorous vibes, which is exactly what those games were about. Nolan is a great director and the cast is well selected, plus the huge budget doesn't hurt- this looks great!

Some background: Fallout takes place in a post-apocalyptic world (nuclear war america/china), and in most of the pc games your background is that of a Vault Dweller (blue suits), a faction of people who managed to get to safety to subterreanean Vaults all over the country, or their descendants, and your main goal is to exlore the devastated overworld with flora and fauna mutated by radiation, usually searching for some information/item to further the plot / save your Vault (those with the big round doors). Besides Vault Dwellers, there are other factions that survived more or less without the technology of the Vaults above ground, in more or less civilized societies, be it radiated ghouls, the militant Brotherhood of Steel (those guys in the armor suits), mutants and supermutants, in whatever settlements or ruins there are left. The point of time after the fallout differs from game to game, as does the location (California, Washington DC, Mojave Desert,...). The early games were isometric turnbased RPGs, the newer ones first/third person action RPGs with optional round based combat. All games offer a broad variety of character customization and different play styles.

Lol there's no portal, she was inside a vault and decided to leave. vaults where created by a corporate company called Vault Tec, and there are over a hundred vaults scattered around america. the vaults were made incase a nuclear apocalypse started and specific people where chosen to be sheltered, so not everybody got inside a vault, most died to the bombs or were turned into ghouls or simply got lucky and survived. However vault tec didn't create these vaults out of kindness, they were secretly created for social experiments/testing on human subjects. Only a few vaults were designed to actually protect people. The world of fallout is an alternate reality of our own world where technology took a different turn, and oil and nuclear energy was our main resource of power, and the world (mostly China and America) started fighting over these resources which eventually lead to the fear of nuclear armageddon, the creation of vault tech, the vaults and eventually, the post apocalypse around the world

I appreciate you giving it a shot to react and breakdown the trailer. If you plan on following the series when it airs, I recommend getting a base understanding of the games/universe. The setting, basic lore, characters/beings, plot or storytelling, etc. Its a wonderful franchise.

Honestly, I'd be worried if there wasn't a substantially comedic element to the show. Fallout is an inherently darkly satirical series. I guess more subtle than Shaun of the Dead, but honestly that's actually a decent marker for the tone the games often go for. It's often dark-horror in the background with bizarre wacky characters in the forefront. Here is a quote that I think perfectly encapsulates the tone: "Have you ever tried to indulge an all-consuming urge to kill when you don't have opposable thumbs? Or hands? Having played the games since 97 as a teen, I cannot tell you the level of excitement I have for this show... cannot wait!! Play fallout 4 if the series dont work out... i think it will as they got the games devs fully involved and its cannon and the director has played the games as he is a fan, You dont need prior knowledge when playing fallout 4, its an awesome game, best on PC as that can handle it. I think your gonna love it if they manage to translate it exactly from game to show, so much they can do with it.

Fallout is set in a post-apocalyptic era after a nuclear war between the U.S. and China, and each game in the series features the story of a protagonist created by the player. The people in the blue and yellow suits are called vault dwellers because they’re descended from the people who managed to escape to large underground bunkers called vaults when the nukes started dropping. Most of the vault dwellers still alive by the time of the games have lived their entire lives underground. The guys in power armor are the Brotherhood of Steel, a quasi-religious paramilitary organization founded by U.S. Army deserters who survived the nuclear armageddon. They believe that it’s their duty to hoard pre-war technology from people who would misuse it. Given the series is supposedly set in and around the Los Angeles area we’ll likely be seeing the NCR or New California Republic as well, a nation founded by multiple settlements comprised of the descendants of survivors who decided to band together. They’ve grown into a formidable faction and previously won a large scale conflict against the Brotherhood. The fella who liked like a cowboy Freddy Kruger is a ghoul, a human whose body absorbed a large amount of radiation and consequently deformed. This happens for some folks in Fallout rather than simply dying from radiation poisoning; it has something to do with genetics.

I actually don't mind them to create a new story and new vault dwelller and not follow any of Fallout 1 till 4 storylines as long as they don't make it ridicilious and bring stuff in thats not of the Fallout universe.

Im so pumped for this cause its going back to the original location of california where the first game took place and no there no portal 😂 what happened was is the 1950s followed into our timeline but everything was being run by uranium when they founs out how powerful it was and could use it for energy and gas well they started running low and wars broke out europe completely destroyed esch other the us annexed canada and the chinese came iver there and a war broke called anchorage battle well in october 2077 the chinese dropped nukes on america and we fired em back it was called the 2 minute war the whoke world was destroyed

You put some images that have nothing to do with Fallout which is one of the most iconic franchise out there. Check Fallout the latest real fallout trailers. Anyways this trailer is amazing, it's 100% accurate (there is also the videogame director on this show)

Ain't going to bother watching it's likely going to be woke so it's likely going to flop kind of like The Witcher series

Im excited for this series!! The games are pretty fun too, basically post apocalypse RPG. The directors are who im most excited about, since they worked on Westworld which was such a good series. It was an HBO series but unfortunately they took it off Max 🥲
