Fallout 76 - Easy Allies Review

@@jdbruiser It's almost as though Bethesda actively tried to score that low. The worrying thing is Fallout 4 and 76 is the best they can do at this point. Marketing seems to have the lion's share of the budget.

This is one of the few reviews that I think nails the score on what this game is. And I'm not saying that to circlejerk. My interpretation of a 5/10 for example means that the game may still be fun to play for a select group of people but have inherent flaws. A genuine attempt may be made but core concepts may hold it back. Fallout 76 is a broken mess, worse than an early access game, selling at full price with a level of arrogance matching the worst of the industry. A game masquerading as a AAA or heavy hitter title. And so the reviewer did his due diligence in reviewing it as it wants to be. 2/10 is what score this game SHOULD be getting across the board. It's Metacritic/Opencritic score should be much lower imo to reflect that. Kudos.

I like to imagine it being done in a more "tranquil fury" kinda voice myself.

I mean he tactfully worded the review to destroy every argument you could possibly have of maybe having fun with Fallout 76 so I would call that not holding back, lol

this is why EZA is better than all those youtubers looking to gather the most toxic people. This review is precise and doesn't fall into "This is shit fuck you Bethesda" or "People shouldn't play this, don't support this".

He did a great job.

I did like the voice acting. It definitely sounded Amanda Troop quality.

That was from their Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4. It was creative in that time, but here it's just another asset they decided to reuse with no regard to why the thing existed in the first place. A "Hey, remember this? Well it's here now!" kind of thing.

While I agree it's disgusting... if you buy this game it's kind of on you. I love Fallout as much as the next person but this game was clearly going to be terrible from the minute the beta dropped. It's kind of expected from Bethesda at this point. I lost all faith in them after Fallout 4 personally, but that's just my opinion.

It's more that Fallout 76 just exposed their true form for what it is. People have been giving them a pass for so long because of their writing and characters but once you take that away, it really shows how lukewarm their gameplay has always been and makes it much harder to accept their increasingly buggy and poorly optimized engine. It has opened people's eyes to what they have always been. If Bethesda wants to win their fans back, they need to improve. They need to stop relying on their dated buggy engine and create something new that actually works. They need to find more engaging ways to partake in the lore and world building beyond text-based exposition dumps to explain all of the interesting narratives you don't get to participate in. They need to evolve as developers.

@@6x6Majin To be fair, writing and characters are extremely important so it's not quite so much "giving a pass" just "because of their writing and characters." Their games DO have issues in general, but at least they're usually fun and addictive for awhile. Improvement is definitely needed though. I had probably more fun with Fallout 4 than any other Bethesda game.....for a few hours. And then I had moderate fun for probably another dozen hours. And then I kind of started to feel nothing. At least 3, NV, and Skyrim grabbed me for at least 50 hours apiece. And yeah 76 is BY FAR the worst thing I've seen or experienced from them.

@360Ragequit Yes I actually loved Fallout 4 myself, it's a great game by itself but it definitely let's down older fans by getting rid of what they expect on a Fallout sequel and RPG. And to what the other guy said about Easy Allies being a trend reviewer, that's not a case at all, Easy allies is probably the best reviewer around at giving good informative reviews and fair scores. Just cause someone doesn't enjoy the game doesn't mean that another person can't feel like its a 9/10.
