The only character in Fallout series i was hands down scared off, his voice actor is so good, it actually instills some sense of fear into you when Caesar speaks. I was actually careful what to speak with him as not to offend him, Caesar truly is a video game character done right.

Courier Six: What do you think of the Minutemen? Caesar: They hardly seem like something of a threat to anyone, let alone to the Legion. They hold on to old and outdated tactics that can't be used effectively in modern combat. Their forces are always spread thin trying to take care of the people of the Commonwealth they will never last if they don't use advanced tactics. The greatest example is what happened to their Castle, it was overrun by Mirelurks of all creatures and their coward General hid away in a dungeon while the Minutemen were helpless to defend it. Courier Six: What do you think of their leadership? Caesar: What is there to say about it? It's unstable, too inclusive and no due process. Look at what happened in Quincy. They failed to defend a town after they were overrun by a group of common thugs like the Gunners. They were waiting for reinforcements to come and help defend the town, but they never came. Turns out it was one of their own that sold them out to the Gunners. What did they do after their general was killed in the battle along with the most of the Minutemen? They headed to Concord where they were attacked by common Raiders and given that Preston Garvey was only true Minutemen among them they had to take shelter in a museum. If not for the actions of one vault-dweller the raiders would have overrun them. And what does Garvey do after all this happens? He gives the title of general to the vault-dweller. A person he had just met. Does that like good leadership to you? It's another Quincy waiting to happen.

In some ways I like Benny. He accepted his situation and was willing to pass on his "legacy" to the Courier rather than go with the "if I can't have it no one can" mentality. But his capacity to screw one over not once, not twice but three frickin' times in row? I'm not even mad, that's impressive!

Caesar reminds me of the white dad who wears Hawaiian shirts and has neighborhood barbecues rather than the leader of a blood thirsty group of wannabe Romans

I wanted to talk to Caesar, just talk, not do any quests, but I had vilified reputation so as soon as one of his guards saw me (I had a legion disguise) they raped me with those balistic fists.

Caesar is interesting. A clever and educated man whose lust for power and arrogance took the best of him. Like many important characters in Fallout, he is an asshole that stomps on anyone in his way to reach his grandiose ambitions.

You know I would to see this guy debate philosophy with the Sole Survivor, since he/she grew up in the times before the war and he/she is most likely more educated on the subject of history than Edward is. And has far better knowledge of what happens to people when they repeat the past or rely on the ways of the old.

Courier Six: What do you think of the Institute? Caesar: To be honest with you I can't say much about an enemy I don't know much about. Given that they occupy a terrority we have no interest in. All I can say about them is that they play a dangerous game. At first they started building these bipedal automatons with basic intelligence but then they started making automatons that were almost pure flesh and bone. They looked and talked like actual humans, not only that they could feel like humans. This is their biggest mistake, since the synths have to live a life of servitude, they are quick to turn on their masters especially when they keep making more of them. Without the recall codes the Institute would be defenseless. For now we'll leave them be. But we might have to deal with them in the Capital Wasteland. Courier Six: What do you want in the Capital Wasteland? Caesar: Ever hear of Capitol Building wastelander? It's the perfect place for a ruler. Once I wipe the supermutants and the Brotherhood of Steel from the D.C. Ruins I will set it up as a kingdom for the Legion and use it as base of operations. One day I will inherit the building to one of my sons when they are ready to become king.

Courier Six: What do you think of the Railroad? Caesar: What do you want me to say about them? Their ideas, their goals, their leadership, their tactics, everything in that group is all a fuckin' powder-keg! Courier Six: Why would you describe them as a powder-keg? Caesar: Because like the Minutemen their too inclusive and let many synths into their ranks. Since the Institute has the recall codes for all of their automatons they can turn them off at a moments notice while the rest of the human in the group are outnumbered and annihilate by the Institute's machines. Or even worse the synths could go haywire like the Broken Mask incident of 2229 and start killing everyone around from the inside and no one would be none the wiser. Selflessness isn't a bad thing, but focusing your selflessness for one group above all others will ultimately be your downfall. So yeah going on that the entire movement is a powder-keg with a short fuse just waiting to be ignited and the Institute and can light any time they want.

@mute754 They pronounce his name like "kai-zar" because that is how the Romans pronounced it. There was no soft C in traditional Latin. (Also notice that they pronounce "Ave" like "ah-way" because "V" is pronounced like "W" in traditional Latin.) And if I remember, I think it's a Ballistic Fist on his wrist, not a Pip-Boy.

Caesar is possibly the most convincing faction leader of any game that involves factions that require you to join one of them, ever. A genius, rational and he's not "evil" at all, he's actually brought something that resembles order into the territories he conquered, he's just awesome.

Caesar has like 100 speech and 10 charisma

This may be 10 years ago but good move dude releasing Benny with a "stealth boy" and bobby pin,not becoming overwhellmed with vindictiveness like so many others but the Legionaries attacked you anyway cause Bethesda game glitches that have become infamous since nobody at the Company knows how to properly upgrade an old game engine.In comparison Rockstar games in "Red Dead 2" use a heavily upgraded version of a game engine used in the game "Ping Pong" from 1998 which make Bethesda look like Amateurs at best!

As immoral and barbaric Caesar's Legion is, you can't help but see the logic in how he does things. Hearing his speech, you can see that he is right in how things should be approached on a rational scale, but it does lack morals. I like the Caesar myself, sick, twisted, immoral, but an absolute genius. It's unfortunate that on the first file I blew his fucking dome across that tent with my Anti-Material Rifle, but hey, we can't all be subtle.

Just beat the game (late to the party, I know) and I was loyal to Mr. House; used guns and lots of sniping. This time I'm gonna support Caesar the whole way just to see how that plays out. Gonna be a sneaky melee bruiser with explosives. AVE! TRUE TO CAESAR!

Caesar is one of my favorites characters in the game along Mister House. Both are the best leaders of the game in their own way. In my opinion, although Legion's actions could be seen as pure evil, is all a plan of Caesar to intimidate and conquer their enemies and create the perfect post apocalyptic society at long term. In fact, in his ending you can see the wise and just politician that he is (I'll not reveal SPOILERS)

@hectymcc I agree, I think that is because it's more challenging, the NCR has more soldiers and is more widespread than the Legion and you will have to fight more oftenly than if you weren't sided with them XD.

@GLYDE8 No Legate Lanius fills that role. There is a reason Caesar's Karma Meter is listed "Evil" While Lanius's is "Very Evil". And Lanius is supposedly just as smart as Caesar...Now that's scary! O_o

Caesars Legion has to be one of the nastiest factions in the Fallout history. It's a pure evil group that bases itself on slavery and brutality as well as treachery and an egocentric leader with total control. I could never ally with them.

The Legion isn't really "evil". They just want to restore civilization, only they figure to start from the begginng in the West, aka the original Rome. Then, morals can be reintroduced once everything is back on track. True to Caesar ;)

ceaser's music inside his tent is one of the main reasons i alligned with the legion. Plus I like his attitude =) He's badass.

@elvebrothergenju There is virtue in the words of honestas, prudentia and industria. Even though the reasoning is sound, it is indeed apparent that the individual is a complete slave to the state, even the 'free' people are slaves to the state, embodied by Caesar.

Caesar's Legion would have reformed the current government after Caesar's death. Likely becoming more divided through territories but altogether stronger

Wow, I gotta hand it to Obsidian, they did a hell of a job picking good VA's for their main characters. I've always liked Caesar's performance, but after watching Canal+'s "Borgia: Faith and Fear", I've gained a brand new respect for John Doman's ability to play scheming, underhanded, semi-intellectual tyrants. American accent aside, if you liked Caesar in FO:NV, you should check out his performance as Pope Alexander VI.

I use a Legion armor.. thats it. I also left all my weapons to that one guy at the beggining. but when Im ariving the arena ish, everybody say ''Hey! what do you're doing''.

I just wish that the creators of the game had made the choices more real-to-life sensible. For example, unless Caesar really had an issue with Benny, he wouldn't respond violently like that, and not immediately like that. Also, there should be a way to get out of situations like that without having to kill everyone, like using a stealthboy of your own and getting out asap.

@elvebrothergenju I remember The way I killed him. I was with boone, and we went inside, I shot off a couple 9MM rounds, and ran out. I jumped on a tent, waited for caesar to come out after his guards, and took my AM Rifle to his face. Head remained intact gladly, wish I coulda given it to the NCR X)

Game takes on a different feel with no radio on....might give it a try next time I play

Caesar is essentially what the Warhammer 40K god-emperor must have done during prior to this ascension to the throne. In the Fallout universe, multiculturalism and democracy had its chance - it's time for something different.

Contrary to your description you can beneutral or on very good terms with the Legion and you will still receive ths mission ,as long as you dont complete too many missions for Ambassador Crocker.

@SkyBarMan Nope, I ran into the same problem. My advice would either be starting the game over, or picking another faction.

You can tell it's from 2010 because it doesn't have dozens of gay mods ruining the artstyle of the game.

I sided with the Legion because Caesar seemed to have a better awareness of the situation, he seemed more intelligent and likeable than most of the NCR my characer met (except Colonol Hsu and Chief Hanlon).
