You didn’t mention Klein or Dala’s names in the recursion explanation. Klein is a reference to a Klein bottle which is sort of like a 3d Möbius strip, and Dala is short for Mandala which is Sanskrit for ‘circle’

This is a bit of a meta comment but everyone going "well actually" about a lot of things Jon did or didn't do makes it probably difficult to want to do a Useless Steve run or anything else. Can we just appreciate the video and the run? As someone who used to HATE Old World Blues, this run has definitely made me appreciate it much more, and now I'm gonna go back myself and 100% complete it to see everything Useless Steve missed. Like, let's just be grateful, okay? I am. I loved this. Good show, Jon.

I really enjoy Jon's Fallout series. Jon clearly puts a lot of thought into his Fallout playthroughs and it really shows. Showcasing secrets, plot elements, and gameplay quirks as part of the character's arc makes for a great show.

Loved both runs and I'm sad they are over.

You know, this makes me wish that speech check dialogue was contextual, like how Useless Steve has a natural 1 in intelligence but with all the doodads he was wearing and drugs pumped into his system he was able to totally bullshit the optimum solutiuon and its a shame the dialogue doesn't reflect that.

Well, Deadmoney might logically be the next step from here, which by comparison is *FAR* easier than OWB, what with fewer enemies, less perceptive enemies, and fairly relaxed progression through the story. I would suggest focusing melee for that dlc as well, as even with poor skill the holorifle can be broken and you'll have access to a fair bit of melee options from what the ghosts drop including cosmic knife throwing spears which scale off of melee. Couple that with a focus on Speech and you might have a pretty fair chance of getting a relatively good outcome, if not a rich one.

AFAIK this is the only game where you can call your brain a dick 10/10

Honestly, I was looking forward to seeing some Legendary Bloatfly-related karmic revenge at the hands of Useless Steve. But on reflection I'm kinda glad that the bloatfly carried the day. Makes me feel so much less... inadequate. I mean, if Useless Steve, humanity's apotheosis, couldn't kill it, I can hardly keep blaming myself for not being able to do so either, can I?

Many A True Nerd had finished his Useless Steve run of the Big Mountain. He felt warm, fulfilled, and a bit sluggish.

I imagine Useless Steve fast travelling is like Mr Bean fast travelling. He just aligns the compass on his pip-boy and stares fixedly at it whilst walking in a straight line, completely oblivious to the chaos unfolding around him.

Hey John, you actually could have gotten to an intelligence of 9, in order to help Dr. 0, and you were actually rather close to getting it done. Base: 1 Dr. Klein Scrubs: +2 Dr. Kleins Glasses: +1 Mentats: +2 Smart Lights: +2 Total: 8 Intelligence But wait! This is one intelligence point you need! How are you going to get that!? Well, you can get Intensive Training for a simple way, but for something more fitting for Useless Steve, you could make him a Night Person, one of the few perks you had available thanks to it's only requirement being level 10. It would reduce your intelligence by 2 at night, but *increase* your intelligence at night! Just what the doctor ordered, making Useless Steve a hair more useless durring the day, but put him in a bathrobe, glasses, drugged and dazed at his time, and the stars align for a single intelligent thought!

the implications that Useless Steve's brain is actually fully functional and intelligent and that he is just such a mess of a man that it's incapable of fixing his stupidity is a fascinating addition to the canon

I never caught on to the name thing, because dala never stood out as fitting in, thus breaking the pattern i guess. Apparently it's a shortened version of 'mandala' which means circle in sanskrit

A fun thing about the proton axe that many people seem to miss is that you can repair it with the trowing variant, wich is basically worthless but always at 100% condition. It turn the proton axe in a great source of money because you find it almost anywhere, a lot by killing lobotomites, repair it to max with a trowing axe and sell it for a ton of caps.

48:59 With Doctor O you don't need to have high SPECIAL, you can use a speech option if you have the perk Math Wrath (It's a perk that gives 10% less cost in VATS and has some speech options with Dr. Zero/O and Christine from Dead Money).

Old world blues is my favorite piece of Fallout content and Mobius will always hold a special place in my heart.

I love that you're still out here making content for the old fallouts. I have every achievement in this game and have put easily hundreds of hours into it, yet I'm never bored watching you videos because I always still learn new things. I also enjoy when Jon confronts the Legendary Bloatfly and says "it's just a bloatfly" even though he hates those things most of his playthroughs and avoids them.

Old world blues is about clinging on to the past and romantizicing it right? Just like me trying to watch new vegas gameplay in 2020 to take me back when things was good. Thank you Jon for keeping this game entertaining 10 years after release

The good Big MT ending justifies the Independent New Vegas ending pretty well. Granted it makes your character a robot-army backed dictator but YOU'LL never abuse such power, right?

i have said it before and ill say it again , this DLC has the best writing of any game ever created to this day , and every time i watch the ending slide , i genuinely tear up with happieness when Roxy and Rex have little robo puppies and live a happy life , good doggies

for the sake of the Mojave, i destroyed the Think Tank, but left Mobius alive, he's a senile old man hyped on chems, harmless as long as he doesnt dip into the Psycho. meanwhile the Think Tank in their boredom will choose to experiment on everyone in the Mojave if left unchecked. so in true Brotherhood fashion, i end them and choose to protect the technology of Big Mountain, until the day comes that man can make use of what is there.

While I did got the others on my side I decided to go fucking bunkers and, while doing a full Moebius Cosplay, told them Im Moebius. I love this DLC

So I did my own run of this. Something to do with being detected on the balcony caused 3 Lobotomites to continuously start spawning at the door on my balcony every few in game hours
