The new theme is cool and all but they took ALL of the organ that the original had and that kinda ruined it... it is the same as taking out the piano from gwyn's theme and that is pretty bad...
they could have done something like start off with an organ like this for the first half of the song and just have the music build up to the epic orchestra theme the remake has, that would work so incredibly well.
I like the really fast paced parts of the second part of the new theme. I like the beginning of the old theme more, that organ is just fantastic, and I'm somewhat disappointed they left it out.
I like that they tried to make the new theme epic, I just wish they did it by making the organ chords fuller, louder, and more connected. And maybe adding more depth and even orchestral backing as the theme repeated itself over and over. Would have made it ridiculously epic but still tense
I loved both themes, First one was a new dreadful experience. Second one allows me to say this isn't my first rodeo with this "king". Feels elegant and fitting for a fight against a "king" Both versions suit him. This is only my opinion though.
The only problem I have with the new version of the theme is that it's just a tad bit "too epic" I say that in quotations because I don't really know what else to describe it because I'm not that adequate at understanding the musical arts. The reason why I'm saying that it's too "Epic" is because while the new theme of Allant has a lot of grandiose essence that makes it pretty cool, it kinda misses the somber tune of the old theme. I say kinda because it still has the somberness mixed in to tell you that you're not just fighting an old angry Kernel Sanders, you're fighting a Sad, and fallen old angry Kernel Sanders. What they should've done, personally in my opinion, is to simply add more piano-organs, specifically at the start, it should also be a build up, starting off as a bit quite and toned down like the original and then escalate slowly and steadily as the fight goes on as both you and King Allant go all out, thus turning that toned down and quite beggining into a truly grand and golden orchestra.
One of the few parts where I didn't like the remake. They should have opened with organs only in the cutscene then turn it into the more epic version of the theme as the fight goes on. Also the facial animation make him look like an anime boss, expressionless is better.
I was extremely disappointed when I heard they hardly changed any of the bosses AI or movesets at all Demons souls bosses are nice in concept but compared to modern bosses their AI is incredibly archaic and feels like fighting a machine as opposed to modern FS games where it’s hard to tell they’re an AI
Hard doesn’t equal fame n. Just because he isn’t bum raping you the whole fight like a sekiro boss doesn’t mean he’s a shit boss. It’s like mario 64, easy game but is super fun and an instant masterpiece. It’s the same here, demons souls is a masterpiece in my eyes
@@_cripticon8004 Exactly. The difficulty of an enemy doesn't determine if it's well designed. Take for instance the Adjudicator, an incredibly well designed fight that is created to be fought vertically for mages, or face to face for melee builds, essentially offering two different fights if you play through the game with different builds. It's not a difficult boss, but to say it's badly designed is ignorant.
@@Bunny-zg4hd fr, Games are meant to be fun, demons souls doesn’t need insane difficulty because it’s original and captivating. Later games like ds3 are less inspired, so it is mainly remembered for having hard bosses, not memorable ones
@@_cripticon8004 YES THANK YOU. I hate how everyone says DS3's best aspect are the bosses when they are all designed in the exact same way. Demon's Souls had so much variation in its bosses, from Phalanx to the Adjudicator to the Tower Knight to the Storm King, but then DS3's most revered bosses like the Nameless King, Soul of Cinder, Dancer and Pontiff are all the same roll-at-the-right-time fights. They might look different, but they're all the same really.
Yes, if you don't know how the OG was briliant, you will think the new is better. Just like Maiden Astraea, if you ignore the original game, you can't understand why they the original is better.
@@alulim4968 I’ve played and platinumed the original and can safely say that the new king allant theme is way better imo. And that the old maiden astraea theme is a little better than the new one, but not by much. I haven’t played the remake yet tho so we’ll see then
De veras sientes eso? Encuentro que la banda sonora antigua es mucho más tétrica y sutil con el organo de fondo. El tema nuevo es demasiado exagerado y no captura la esencia de ser una batalla aterradora, no es un mal tema y los intrumentos están bien pero pienso que está diseñada para una pelea grande, con un enemigo de proporciones grandes. Se nota que los estudios occidentales no entienden de este tipo de juegos
creo que concuerdo un poco contigo, pero el soutrack original no hace sentir como que.......esta enfrentando a una amenaza.....o que no sienta que sea un jefe final (como lo hace sentir el soutrack de gwyn) por eso considero que este es mejor para mi gusto
@@daccluminarrie3959 Pero si recuerdas bien este nisiquiera es el jefe final, y concuerdo igual que la canción no es tan épica acorde a una batalla final pero la del verdadero Rey Allant es una canción cargada de emoción pero al mismo tiempo inspira terror pero no por lo espectacular del clímax sino precisamente por lo contrario de la revelación de lo que significa la búsqueda de poder sin control
Pero siento que falta algo más la canción para que sienta terror o como una batalla final (y ya se que este jefe no es el final,pero el jefe final nisiquera se siente como final boss)
@@daccluminarrie3959 El jefe de Gwyn tampoco se siente como el ser más amenazante ni fuerte de Dark Souls pero esa es la idea, de ser algo completamente anticlimático. Gwyn inspira tristeza de algo tan vacío que fue tan grande en otra era y Allant como algo patético y malévolo al gran y benevolente rey que alguna vez fue. Algo que podemos relacionar con el mundo en el que vivimos, por eso estos juegos son tan grandes y cargados de mensajes potentes
The old theme is the best, it captures the essence of dread of a seemingly small but extremely powerful being. The new one is just too over the top and epic, like fighting a giant monster. These western studios fail miserably at the stetic and artistic choices because they don't understand a thing. Demon's Souls Remake unfortunately is becoming a dissapointment for what i'm seeing
The new song starts strong, then has a large portion of just soft organ and strings with the choir on top. Not sure how that sounds like fighting a beast. It escalates as the song progresses, but I think to say this piece shows a misunderstanding of the lore or the essence of the boss is unfair. To me, it captures both the grandiose feel (this is the climactic battle after all) as well as the somberness or “calm in the eye of the hurricane”. I love both the old and new version of the song.
@@jp6250 nothing wrong with just sticking to the original, then! As someone who was totally obsessed with the original DeS, it’s frustrating to see the “purists” tearing the remake to shreds on every little thing. If the remake is that bad, just emulate the original with better graphics :p
