It’s a nightmare for a St. Louis City family after a neighboring city in St. Louis County installs concrete barriers to cut down on crime and speeding.
That barrier's punishing the homeowners for living there more than deterring any crime. Also... what if there's a fire or an emergency, and the firetruck/ambulance/cop needs to get there? That barrier ought to be illegal! You're not supposed to make a street inaccessible to emergency traffic. Not to mention garbage pickup. What I would have done is to make a chicane out of it. Make the barriers so that there's a winding path across. And have a part of the barrier easily movable so that fire trucks and ambulances can go through. I mean, you still all allowed to get those in that block, are you?
