Richie tries to track down his parents and runs afoul of a female crime boss. Duncan comes to his help while pondering his own life among the MacLeods.
Hmph BJETNT? “Reminds me of better times.” That really made me think. i’ve watched the entire series over and over. Can’t seem to stop (i can quit anytime i want lol) 😏 and your comment is so true for me too! Watching makes me feel _content._ Life is good. Like a KID! Most definitely “better times!” Explains much! Maybe i’m not nuts after all!? 🤷♀️ Don’t care if it makes sense or not. Clinging to my last shreds of sanity here! 😱
I remember watching this series during the 90s.would be nice to see what’s going on with Adrian Paul and the actress who played Tessa. I know Richie passed away.
What an incredible series - it featured such great acting and guest stars - some terrific immortal villains - beautiful locations, costuming, fascinating story lines, and terrific scripts. It drew you in, was quite believable, and you couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It's hard to believe they did a syndicated show on such a low budget, yet of such quality. My wife and I were obsessed with it, and actually named our first child "Duncan" because of it - he's now 24! But Adrian should have never cut the ponytail! LOL
the think is that "Princes of the Universe" and "Who Wants to Live Forever" written and composed specially FOR Highlander. p.s i rewatching this so i just saw your comment.
Yes, RESTILTUERE IN PACE; In fact I liked his charackter most. He had played it here and in the pilot of the Follow Up one so natural and perfectly believable.
Just heard the news... Sad one, as was his Richie's character ark somehow, and moreover I realized he was born the same year than I was. t'was a lot to compute all at once...
@Shiloh Harrison then you REALLY should have a look at your bank account because it's most likely a fraudulent site, billing you 140$ a month if you haven't properly checked... Now, seeing the firstnames who recommended it, I should have known right from the start, without a shadow of a doubt... You've been reported.
Used to watch these series a lot, back when it aired. Then, one day, it was replaced with Walker - Texas Ranger. I was pissed. I know folks love Norris and all, but i always cared more for this type of entertainment.
🙋🏼♀️ Hey heather19821982! Are you even _possibly_ still out there?? 🤷♀️ If so *PLEASE PLEASE* *PLEASE* 🙏🏻 lemme know you saw this? i would _love and appreciate_ the opportunity to speak to you! 🙆🏼♀️ TYTYTY! 😘
That show was so underrated, my favorite back then, can’t believe it’s been 30 years already ! And I think I gonna go for the whole seasons. Thank you for sharing
Fear. Hollywood is a dictatorship that relies on kidnapping children from the third world who are then forced to live as slaves for some of it´s richest actors. Christopher Lambert and friends did not want to be part of that. They would not want to be paid one USD for a Hollywood remake. They would want any remake to be non - Hollywood. It´s also about tradition. Don´t ruin a TV show with a plot that could fail. Christopher Lambert is like Tim Kring. He wants to be sure you enjoy the stuff and the world around you directs his productions and those of the directors he works with. This concept is so revolutionary it is centuries beyond traditional Hollywood film making. Still today, the Highlander film series and even their associated anime productions are not considered to be traditional Hollywood stuff either. And his detective movie was so damn scary I had to walk out of the cinema - very realistic although it was of course unrelated. Highlander and Resurrection, both films starring Christopher Lambert are two among the greatest films of all time. Highlander could happen again - in the far future, when humans have forgotten what it was like to have access to advanced technology, so it will remain a timeless classic for centuries!
🙋🏼♀️ i sincerely think Adrian Paul could write an _EPIC_ Highlander movie! He’s so multi talented and obviously he’d understand the premise, right? 🤷♀️
@@jairoanthony8062 Endgame was fantastic in concept but lacking in execution. Also it was filmed during the last season of the series and both were the worse for it.
🙋♀️ Honestly i’ve been searching for the _Highlander_ for *years* on and off. 😢 i’m guessing i happened upon this episode because i subscribed to this channel? 🤷♀️ Can’t believe it! 😱 *SOO EXCITED!!* 🙆🏼♀️ _TYTYTY FOR_ _POSTING!_ 😘
The Highlander series has been on Amazon, Netflix and RU-vid for well over a decade. Sometimes, when the license must be renewed, it is briefly unavailable on Amazon and Netflix but it returns as soon as the contact is renewed. All you needed to do was enter the series name into Google.
Nothing wrong with Queen. They're brilliant. And they became the unofficial band for the Highlander franchise because of the first movie so I guess they thought it made sense to throw it into the series. Doesn't degrade it one bit.
Duncan’s “where do I come from?!” bit always tears at me. Father lost his son, son comes back to life, and father simply curses and abandons him. Duncan’s emotions from that always tugs the heartstrings😢
İt is a miracle. 20 years have passed, and we continue to watch our favorite TV series. Immortal series about Immortals. I love this series and so much i love Richie Ryan.
MacLeod's attitude and quips are like 80% of the reason I like this series British super nationalist immortal who's obsessed with killing him gets defeated, before he cuts off his head: "Close your eyes and think of England"
🙆🏼♀️Wow Dindin Private i actually got excited for you when i read your comment! You were in for a TREAT! 😬 So it’s like seven months later now, hope you had a *BLAST* 💣💥 watching the whole series! 🤷♀️🎉🥳
The first episode was taken down "due to copyright claims" while it's being uploaded by the official studio. RU-vid logic! Probably some complete idiot reported it and RU-vid staff didn't even check who the uploader is.
+DrxSlump, oh, that explains why "The Gathering" was taken down. :( Maybe, the person can do something to add it to the list. There is always a way around the rules.
Adrian Paul said that it hadn't been decided that Richie would become immortal til 2nd season but very cool MacLeod still seemed to know and he wouldn't find his parents...
Considering it's 7 years after The Jeffersons (the last great American network show) went off the air, this is pretty awesome stuff. They actually got creative and tried things in the 90s. it was the Era of Extreme. Now, everyone's afraid of their own shadow. At least we have the memory of when things were on the right track. We didn't get everything right in the 90s, but the effort was there. Now we don't even try.
> Richie: Hey Mac I got a dad! > Mac: Lol no you don't > Richie: Hey Mac I got a kid! > Mac: Lol no you don't > Richie: Hey Mac I got a head! > Mac: Lol...
The director of the John Wick movies is working on a Reboot. It has been Reported the Dave Bautistia is going to play the Korgan, but they have been talking about a reboot for almost a decade with a revolving door of directors, and actors. So I won't be too excited till I see a trailer for it.
The both series and the first HIGHLANDER MOVIE were the best. But back in the Eighties when I had seen the ads for this movie at my local cinema in my days as a University student i missed to get into the Highlander movie. I still regret my decision from mack then. On big scene it is even better as on TV watching it. Ther episodes are then like the candid fruits on the cake.
@usacyrano That claymore was the clan MacCleod sword that Mac was supposed to inherit before he died and was cast out when he came back alive. It was given back as he does not feel right using it. It resides @ an inn in scotland owned by a MacCleod descendant
Around 4:05 They apparently did that scene so many times the wall got messed up (my eye says the dents are there before Richie gets slammed by Harold) 🤣
It's Dom (Dominic) DeLuise. He had 3 son's, Peter, Michael and David. The sons all look alike ... in the face. Sam almost married David (who played Pete, the cop) on SG1. All three brothers were involved with SG1. Michael played Jack (kinda) on a fictional SciFi portrayal of SG1 on SG1 (confusing, I know). The original 21JumpStreet was great.
lol @ 4:07 there, that guy got a bit overzealous...he slams Richie into the wall and literally caves the plaster in the wall in...looks like there was another one before too, must have done a take beforehand.
Adrian Paul's resemblance to young Sean Connery is the reason he was chosen to play Duncan McLeod in the Highlander series, since Connery was Ramirez in the original Highlander film.
lol @ 4:08 or so, right when the guard slams him into the wall, if you watch right before you'll notice the wall is only dented once before Richie is slammed into it, the guy ACTUALLY seems to have rammed Richie through the plaster in the wall. I wonder if they had to pay for that or if it was a set. Didn't really throw him off at least :P
NO THE HIGHLANDER IS NOT GONNA KISS MY MUT 22 AND MY WECCHDBQCTJRBDGLT NO THATS NEVER GONNA WORK OR GONNA FLY OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS
I could be wrong about this but I have a theory that Duncan already knew that Richie was going to be immortal before Richie even knew if that makes sense
Christopher Lamber wasnt heavy into Martial Arts but he always the Original Highlander Lambert himself declined to act again in the TV series Adrian Paul on the other hand probably practices his Tai Chi and Kata's and knows Martial Arts which is one the reasons Highlander TV Series Rules the Martial Arts training in De Salvo's Gym Duncan Katana and Kung Fu Katas always timeless and that is cause i Train Kung Fu as well and have a Katana sword at home
Joe reminded me of the dad in Hardcore Pawn. Also, I I didn't realize it decades ago when this episode aired, but it begins the setup for Richie being an immortal himself eventually.
RIP Stan Kirsch Truthfully, I find Tessa highly objectionable! A french "artist"?! She latched on to a wealthy man using her looks and acts like she deserves him and all that comes with wealth!
Not the greatest show now but when I was a kid... it was the bomb. And parts still hold up... was fun, decently written and of course, swords! I miss it...
Duncan already knows Ritchie is immortal, ergo the guy who pretends to be Ritchie's father is lying. 43:21 he pretty much tells Ritchie he is an immortal.
watching this cause im feeling nostalgic, but why didnt Joe just run off... If someone gave me a few days to get that kinda money and I obviously couldnt rub 10 bucks together, and no ties to a place id use the few bucks I had on a greyhound. But gotta say, love Duncans little smiles when he delivers lines, "go for your gun and ill make you eat it" :D
Thanks for posting these. Out of movie adaptations for TV this was one of my favorites. The fight choreography is good, and the cast excellent. Adrian Paul really sold the new character.
Anything with Peter DeLuise is fun. Though at this point I'm still puzzled why they took Richie in so easily. I guess it's because Mac could sense his potential immortal-ness, but that's in hindsight.
