it is so sad that James Murdock and Eric Fleming both Died so tragically young and it is even more heart breaking that neither of them seem to have proper memorials . Eric Fleming Partically deserved a proper memorial and be properly remembered.
Steve..... You have done a vlog on my all time favorite Western. I can remember watching all of the episodes then and now on reruns. Eric Fleming with that baritone voice was my favorite. His death was so sad. I read that he was to be married upon the end of filming. Stay well and all the best from Vegas
Rawhide is one great classic TV show, so many great actors appeared on the show I absolutely loved Eric Fleming, so sad how he died such a tragedy. Steve you do such a wonderful job, it's much appreciated thank you so much.
Love those western outfits it was the going thing back then I too wore them daily. Getting a horse from Santa was the best gift ever. I loved RawHide Western shows/movies was my thing. Great tour and tribute to these stars.
Thanks for sharing this with us. I am one of the fortunate youths (28) that had an opportunity to fall in love with this classic western tv series. I still watch episodes to this day. Its a bit strange to fall in love with characters who I'll never have an opportunity to meet, but I feel great pride in getting to enjoy the legacy they left behind. Head'em up, move'em out!
I loved Rawhide as a kid and can still remember the first few lines of the song, and the crack of the whip ! Still love Clint Eastwood ! How in the heck did I get this old ? 😂😂😂
I use to watch the reruns of Rawhide way back in the 70's. Rawhide was played at my fathers funeral. He was a big fan of Frankie Laine. Every time I hear that song I think of my old dad. Rip dad
I sure did watch Rawhide! loved rowdy, gil & wishbone! Im a Western movie & tv show junkie 💓🤠🐎. Sad about gil - a memorial somewhere should be put up. Thx Steve 😄🐦👯♀️
I find it very upsetting about Eric Flemming passing.ILoved him as a kid watching Rawhide and now I'm a Grandmother I love him even more.God Bless him. 😪😢❤❤❤❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧
So sad about Eric Fleming. I think I had read about his death a long time ago. But had forgotten about the details of his death. That is just so sad. I use to love watching Rawhide.
Friday night was rawhide night when I was a boy . Loved the series , best one ever .still watch it , brings back happy memories . Loved all characters but Eric Fleming stood out .may he r I p . U k viewer .
My Dad just loved all those Westerns on TV. & we watched them together. I remember him telling us 8 kids that if we didn't get to bed, we'd all up with a "Rawhide!" 🤠 Thanks Steve for another day out reminiscing!
Rawhide a good show. That's how kids used to dress when they played without social media affecting. Great video. Great memories are precious and priceless
I have no memories of watching Rawhide, but I may have just forgotten as I'm 75 and the old noodle doesn't work like it used to. But the picture of you and your brother brought back a memory of me dressed in a cowboy outfit sitting atop a pony. I was like five or six. I man was going from house to house trying to get mothers to pay to have a picture of their kids sitting on the pony. For some reason my mom decided to have me on the pony. Still got that picture somewhere. I do remember that I did not look too happy. As for John Ireland, I loved him in every movie he made. There was just something about his acting style that drew me to him. Good video. Thanks for posting.
All the westerns like Rawhide, Bonanza, wanted Dea or Alive, Gunsmoke and the Rifleman are all on Metv channel every saturday. I love that are playing them. Thank you Steve really enjoy your channel.
Very cute outfits. My hubby says most boys back in a day had cowboy hats,guns,etc......that they wore for everyday use. Loved Rawhide!! Very sad when folks don't have a final resting place. Take care- Chris&Dave
So good. That's heartbreaking about Eric Fleming. A lot of early deaths.☹️ But at least I know Robert Cabal lived to be a good age. I had been told he died very young. So thank you very much for another good one! 👍🏻
Very sad on Eric Fleming, and Mushy. I remember when Eric Flemming died. I had no clue, as to his body never coming home. No family? Thanks Steve, for all the info. My Grand Father knew Frankie Laine, when he lived in MN.
Another great video Steve love watching your channel Rawhide and The Rifleman were my dads favorite TV shows. Him and my mother both love Clint Eastwood and do I. Hope to see more videos soon.
Boy do I remember Rawhide. Your cowboy outfit as a child. I had an outfit like that and others like airline pilot. Parents were funny back then. Another great video.
Sad to know that as an actor you drown during a film shoot and as a thank you, you end up donated and forgotten. Today there would be a fund me page. We all think actors are rich people but that is not the case, there are more poor actors than rich ones. Perhaps his family was financially not well enough to get his body back. But being forgotten is terrible. And RU-vid likes channels with al lot of views and comments. Well RU-vid eat this I am from the Netherlands and follow Steve from America, so internationally he is doing well and his channel is open for international viewing LOL. Yee haw... Wel done Steve and thank you for this episode love all the back ground you get and share with us. Even the sad ones.
OH STEVE I LOVE RAWHIDE I WATCHED WESTERN ON THE WEEKEND ON ME T.V. ON SATURDAY MORNING AND I LOVE ITS AND I LOVE THE SONG'S RAWHIDE THAT FRANKIE LANE SING MAY GOD BLESSED ALL THE ACTORS THAT PASSED ON REST IN PEACE STEVE THANKS FOR SHOWING THIS VIDEO SEE YOU NEXT TIME STEVE AGAIN THANKS💛💜💙💚❤
My mom & me watched probably all the "Rawhide" series. I consider it one of the best TV Western shows. As to the young kid days, Steve, that you and your brother remember in your cowboy outfits...I had one too like most boys from that era. But, a more memorable kid outfit I had at age 4 was my Davy Crockett Disney set. I have a slide photo of that taken in 1955. Your series is quite entertaining as I've stated before. Keep them coming.
Oh it brings memories back for sure I had a cowgirl outfit I'd ride my spring horse playing the record of the theme song!best years for westerns!thanks for showing these....🤠🐎🐄
Hey Steve very nice tribute to the cast. I have never watched an episode but I am familiar with the theme song. Agree, tragic regarding Eric Fleming. It is shocking.
Great video, Steve! My brother, who is nine years older than me, got me into all things and people Western when I was a small kid. As a matter of fact, we watched Rawhide together recently when our mother and I evacuated to his house during Hurricane Dorian...and, believe it or not, there was an episode with our favorite Western villain actor, the legendary Neville Brand. We both always enjoyed his work. I still love any and all old Westerns....sadly, a movie genre that seems to have disappeared...or maybe that’s because there are no longer any actors who would do it justice. Actors like Brand, Strother Martin, Dub Taylor, Chill Wills, Slim Pickens, Walter Brennan and Ben Johnson to name a few....so sad they’re all gone, now. They were a cut above...Thank the good Lord that Clint Eastwood still lives!
This was a great video my father-in-law loved rawhide he was a diabetic and ended up being blind but he would leave his glasses on and watch rawhide I spent many days watching it with him before he passed away thank you for reminding me all the wonderful times I've had with him you are doing a phenomenal job keep up the great work I hope you have a very blessed week God bless Shelly
The guy was so handsome in Rawhide - Thank you for always bringing us quality videos 💟 That's the guy - 89 now, wow! Clint Eastwood. You and your brother were two cuties 👬
You looked so cute dressed as a cowboy. Thanks for another great video. I hope you're doing well, safe travels and I'll be looking forward for your next one, God bless🕊💕
Love to see that picture of you and your brother dressed as Cowboys. The days of playing Cowboys and Indians is long gone. I find it ironic that when we were kids and I know you and I are a few years apart but we had all sorts of toy guns. Entire sections of toy stores were dedicated to toy guns yet we never had mass shootings in those days. Such a sad world we live in now and you taking us down memory lane Keeps Us grounded to say the least. Did you notice in the sheb Wooley picture it said purple purple eater... LOL! That was a fun song to listen to. I never saw an episode of Rawhide but I know of the show because my parents of course used to love watching all of the Westerns. Thanks again Steve for the fun trip down memory lane. See you later!
it sure was a different time in so many ways. i didn't notice the misspelled title. one other person did, though. you are very detail oriented and observant. thanks, alexander!
it's sad to see the actors i watched on tv and movies when i was a young lad , to know they have passed away.. i feel old...make you respect the life you have. thank you so mutch for all your video's .....steve thank you. ow ' and clint eastwood is one of my fave actors of all time .
Again thank you for your wonderful episode of Rawhide love it I got scared for a moment you had me thinking Clint Eastwood was dead too keep up the good work
@@TheGraveyardChannel Steve, I read a book on Fleming's life about a decade ago and I wish I could tell you the title of it, but his childhood was beyond horrible. Here is what I remember about the book what took place.after Fleming's death. Fleming's body was in such bad shape, nothing could be donated, not to science or an organ donation..the body was shipped home to LA..then cremated. His fiancee was there when the tragedy happened..she saw it all..I think she passed away 1 or 2 years ago..just thought about that.
Rawhide used to come on TV on Saturday nights back in the sixties when I was a small boy. My mother was a fanatic at watching Rawhide, Virginia, Big Valley and many other western classic TV shows.
Hi Steve! Used to watch Rawhide with my Dad every week. I loved the theme song, sometimes you could hear my singing this song around our farm in Wisconsin!
One of my favorite rerun cowboy shows. Yes I had a Cowboy outfit when I was younger. Mine was brown and yellow with a white Cowboy hat! lol ! Tks Steve!
Hey Steve have you done Wagon Train?? Yes I watched all the westerns. Loved them all and had a pistol revolver cap gun and holster. I was quite a tomboy. I like to visit the old cemeteries here in Delaware. The epitaphs on some of the graves are hilarious. Thanks
Thanks Steve. I've been reading about old Hollywood filming locations especially Westerns. After watching your video, I'm going to do a little research on Rawhide. Sounds like it was a great show. Sorry to say, I've never watched an episode. Happy trails. Thanks again for posting.
The same thing happen to actor Bobby Driscoll that won an Oscar in 1949 he died in 1968 and his body was never claimed but his parents were alive and didn't know he passed away in a old building in Manhattan New York and was buried in a Potters Field. Bobby was also in the show Rawhide.
omg, i didn't know he was on rawhide!! i just visited his grave "cenotaph" last week! i was thinking about the similarities when i was editing this vlog. thanks for sharing this, michael!
I wasn't around to see Rawhide, but remember my grandma loving the show! I miss her but made me happy to hear you talk about this show! I just wanna say thank you..and your channel rocks! Looking forward to more of your smooth jazz voice and vids!
Hi 😊. You have such a soothing voice. I’ve commented on other videos that you’ve done, and I sure appreciate you taking me along to visit so many places I’d never see in my life. I think cemeteries are beautiful, yet sad, places. Beauty is there because of the peace and the lovely memorials to lost loved ones...sad to think of how many tears have been sprinkled on the ground that hugs those we’ve lost. Thanks for all you do...🥀
Hi, I really enjoyed your latest video. I have always wondered what happened to all those actors in the western movies and shows we all enjoyed. Thankyou for keeping all our past memories alive. Sherry from Wisconsin
I love watching all the older western shows... my Dad liked John Wayne... he even dressed like him.. and he Passed away on John Wayne Birthday... in 2011.. thanks for sharing these wonderful videos.
Rawhide was a family favorite growing up back in the day. I'm thinking it was on Saturday or Sunday night after watching Ed Sullivan and Walt Disney. My dad especially was a western fan, so we kids would watch it with him. My father was also a " Hockey Night In Canada " fan, ….. guess that's why I got the hockey bug. Great vlog Steve.
Hi Steve. I loved the Rawhide series, I still watch episodes now from time to time. They never get old. You should do a video on "Lawman" series which starred John Russell, Peter Brown and Peggy Castle. Another of my favorites. Thanks for sharing memories of Rawhide!
Loved rawhide watching the reruns on TV each day takes me back when I was a kid and watching it on TV then my brother and me would go outside and play cowboys and indians
Another great vlog, Steve! When you mentioned Paul Brinnager, it brought to mind his cameo appearance in The Gambler: The Luck of the Draw, in which he referenced his time on Rawhide; also brought to mind Eric Flemming's role in The Glass Bottom Boat with Doris Day; Eric played the bad guy, and was his last film appearance, I believe.
Hi Steve, I never was a regular viewer of Rawhide but did catch most of the Warner Brothers TV cowboy shows. Cheyenne and Tender Foot come to mind. The Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel. Clint Eastwood has had an amazing career.
