UNBELIEVABLE!!!…you are like an electronic drum scientist……The time an effort it must take u to do this…..I can’t even imagine. I’m sure there has to be a lot of people, like myself that really do appreciate this ….so thank you. Not sure if your a fan or no what I am talking about ….but Chad Sexton’s the drummer of 311 , especially his early years, had this signature snare sound …that was not easy to replicate…maybe one day…you might be able to do your magic😬
Bought this expansion pack. Night and day difference in our rehearsal space, and will definitely shine in live performances! Big thumbs up to the Knotted B Kit! And I'm just a guitar player, but I had to get this for my drummer. The whole band was gushing from these samples compared to the original kit that we were on, along with the older V 1.01 firmware. We upgraded to Firmware V2 and got these then it was magic. Totally recommend these!
Im usually very iffy on buying presets that you can make youself, like alot of the drum tec expansions, but you sir are a wizard with how far you can push the abilities of this module, i will definitely be buying this expansion

By the way, can you use the samples separately in a custom kit? There are so many great sounds in these kits and it'd make it easier to set up a nice custom one.
Yes, you can. Unfortunately the TD-17 doesn't have a "pad copy" ability so you will need to dial in both layers manually on another kit. For example, the snares are a mixture of one onboard instrument layer and my sample on the other layer, so you'll need to match those yourself. Or you could copy the entire kit then just change the other parts if that's easier!
Dude I'm currently rocking a TD-17 with a full compact acoustic size kit from Lemon. Just got the Knotted A/B and omg, the snare sounds SO GOOD. I've been chasing that kind of snare for a long time. The way you mixed the kits are perfect too, clean, impactful, no strange artefacts. 10/10 recommend.

Hey! Yes, these sounds are installed via an SD card 😁 full installation instructions are in the included manual and you can also view the manual before purchase from the product page. I have a video installation guide on the channel too which explains the process.

Specially this snare drum is awesome.. I look and search for mike port noy(DT Drummer) Snare tone. But i think i've found it in here..

Great job Luke! These sound great. I just noticed that there's a spare input in the "Split" layout. You don't have anything on the rim of Aux--just Tom 4 on the head. Is there anything specific you recommend for each kit? Otherwise I'll just use a cowbell. Can't go wrong with more cowbell.
Thank you! Yes, I just went for parity with the TD-27 version which is why I didn't add another cymbal or anything there. It's totally up to you if you want to add something in particular. There is a settings guide included with the pack for the instruments that I've assigned to the split pads already, you could use that as a starting point for another tom or cymbal if you wanted, then adjust sizes or tunings to make them more unique. Or go with the cowbell if you fancy it!

Hey! Thank you 🙏 Yes, unfortunately it's not compatible with v1.xx so he will need to update to v2 to install this pack. It's a pretty simple process though and adds some features so it's worth doing.

They all sound great and what most metal sounds like these dsys but i really miss the thundering low tuned thumping bass drum that you can feel. These newer kick sounds really sound too thin for me if that makes any sense🤷♂️
I have plenty of kits with much deeper sounding kick drums, but stylistically that doesn't work for these kits. Fast double kick playing and deep bass typically sounds very muddy. Feel free to check out my other packs for kick drums with more low end 😁
I've had my td-17kvx2 for a couple of months now. I have nothing to compare it to but these stock kits sound fake to me. I'll be adding one of your kit packs shortly. As a guy who's not really looking for a specific sound would you recommend vol 1 or vol 2? Also is a 2 gb SD card big enough? I know, nobody has a tiny 2 gb card anymore lol. It's not 1998
It's difficult to recommend one over the other if you're not looking for anything specific as they've both got quite a bit of variety in them. It really comes down to which one you prefer the sounds of when listening to the demo videos. Yes, a 2GB card will be fine. The TD-17 only had 32mb of internal memory so any kits I create are smaller than that. You'll be able to fit all of my kits on a card that size and even multiple full backups of the module if required.
I'm curious that Using heaphone and speaker, it is absolutely great. But what about in live Gig.. I Mean not using heaphone, is the sound outcome same and good as using heaphone !!
PA peakers/amps and headphones are very different as loudspeakers need to move a lot of air to project sound into a room whereas headphones are sending the audio directly into your ears. Everything from the speakers themselves to the room you're in will affect the sounds at a gig, so it's impossible to say exactly how it will translate. I believe my kits are more likely to sound good through a PA than the stock kits in most cases due to the added samples and how I shape the sounds, but there might be some tweaks needed depending on your setup and speakers. I do really love Se7en-X B Rockin' Hail, Specially that snare drum, clean and muffling are little bit dry with a perfect high tune. From my POV, this is how i can comment for that sample. If the outcome sounds are different. May be i need to try and mix for that headphone sound for live performance. 95% of this days we're going to use on Church like- Singing with the crowd, and somtimes live band.. Mostly contemporary music.. So, i do really need that little bit dry and clean snare sound! Any way thank you, i'm so glad. If you have any suggestion for me to edit those sample i've purchase. 😁 I'll surely go for it
You're welcome! Yes, that is how I would describe it too 😁 The first thing I would suggest for gigs is just turning down the "Ambience" dial. The room that you are in will usually provide plenty of reflections and ambience which means that digital ambience coming from the module can make things sound "muddy" sometimes when amplified. So I normally start with the ambience turned down then gradually add it back in if it's necessary, but it often isn't. The Ambience dial controls two kinds of ambience at once - the "Ambience" setting and the "Reverb" setting. These can also be turned off or on individually in the OTHER menu, or you can change the individual "Send" volumes of each pad. Usually the dial will be enough but that can give you some extra control. Normally I would recommend making a copy of the kit you like before changing any of the individual settings so that you have an "original" version of the kit as well as the edited one!

The kick and snare are layered with real acoustic samples - the samples are blended with onboard instruments to get the best dynamics while taking advantage of the added "acoustic"-ness of the samples. The rest of the instruments are modelled and layered onboard sounds.
There are 2 rack toms and 2 floor toms programmed, so you'd need to add the additional tom yourself. However, there is a list of instrument parameters included, so you can use those as a reference to get the tom to fit the vibe of each kit, then just adjust the tuning to your liking!
