FAMU was the very first and i mean first marching band to play this arrangement...and i was there when they played it...and trust me...it was way louder...almost knocked me out my seat!
I remember that night.............DAMN, talking about GOOSEBUMPS; it was so funny though, I remember after the first three notes played, seeing the entire crowd turn their head from the sound...................SO POWERFUL............HUBBA "HUNDRED"!!!!!!!!
I remembered hearing the song in two movies, Coming to America and Drumline, so I reviewed the credits for both movies, knowing that the only song they would have in common is this one. Just a brother doin' a little homework....FAMU knocks it the hell outta tha park, don't they????
that was pure genius work , i predicted that one day some band will play this song but i didnt hear a band play it until like15-20 years later from wen the movie came out in 87 wen i was in a marching band in the N.O.
Everyone is to always trying to put down Cookman. I was in that same boat when I was in High school in Miami and I wanted to go to FAMU. I saw BCC When I was a senior in 88-89. Now I am a Alumist and I Love COOKMAN.
@mustang20XII one of the best. I think you mean the best. I am a BCU fan but theres no denying when it comes to muscianship, balance, and precision FAMU is 2nd to none.
I marched Division I DCI with the Madison Scouts and Bluecoats. I know what it means to "put out." This entire park & bark thing is cool but when you've only got 100 people playing almost as loud as that with close to 130 sets in a show, that's putting out!
dang cuz.. its understand what you mean.. but it sucks when the band gets no MONEY...its only recent that they have all new uniforms.. When i came up in the Hundred we had do what we had to get a complete uniform.. (even if we had to snatch the FREshmens gear ... J/k) Haze who me .. i only motivate!!

You need to go listen to BCI or something...I happen to be a member of the 100 (Once a member always a member) I do NOT appreciate your offensive comment... You say you are not a fan...yet you viewed the video....didn't you? Why do you all come on here to make a negative comment just to make one? I would like for you to look up FAMU Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral, sir.... Tell me how you like it!
LOL - how about as real as the way BCC wimped out of the classic last year (what, no 5th quarter). Or as real as the Batman Cape dances the drum majors do, LOL. Or as real as the ??? Horses as your half time intro ??? Cadillac commercial - the '100 was doing Super Bowls and commercials when BCC was still an all girls flute choir.
I love the arrangment and how it's played, but marching band = uniformity. Everyone needs the same hat mostly. I say some with sweat bands, I say some with ball caps, I saw some of the hats without the gold emblem on the front, pretty sloppy presentation.
Sounds just like everything that our band has done also.We don't title our band 200-300 students less than how many there really are. Marching 100, eh? The originator of that name must have been on the talley comittee of the 2000 FL ballots.
@famupiccolo92 It's your style. Not mine. I listened to it as a link and posted my thoughts on it. It is clearly stated that it is my personal opinion that i didn't like it. And the fact that you can't just simply accept that not everyone likes your style of music just shows how unprofessional and immature you are as a musician.
@DrumDrum83 I don't care whether you like my style or not. I can accept that you don't. That isn't what I was saying. You don't know me at all. I play DIFFERENT styles of music.
