The draw away to Manchester City last season didn’t lose Arsenal the league. The losses at home to Villa and West Ham during the season cost Arsenal the league, not to mention the draw and losses to Fulham home and away.
@@tutu222ful I did understand his point winning away against city would have been a huge mental blow to city, I am just not agreeing that this result (draw) was what stopped Arsenal. It was the points dropped against sides we should have got more from especially at home.

Eyes were always on his when Liverpool play. Scholes played in a better team but he was probably the most important part of it. Even came back from retirement to help United win the PL again. Cantona, Beckham, Ronaldo... were the ones people talk about the most, they had big media presence but Scholes was the guy who's dictating every game in silence.
Love Scholsey but his assessment on De Ligt is wrong, stats say different. At Juve he had to be sold because they were skint and Bayern supporters didn’t want him to leave and the supporters know.

Plus partnered Dier in 14 of the total of 15 starts Dier made for Bayern. Played 22 times in the league for Bayern in 23/24. Neuer played 23 times and Musiala, 24. He played a fair amount in a 34 game season where he also had a ligament injury
He started 17 out of 22 games after Dier signed when he was available. He was also taken off in 3 of these games. Still pretty decent though and Dier in no way replaced him.
Would love to see Ipswich push for the top 12 but have people seen how much more competitive the middle table teams are now. Its partly why the 3 promoted teams got absolutely stuffed last season. Fulham, Wolves, Palace, West Ham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton etc. they all have good managers and strong squads pushing for European places.

Hojlund scored 17 last season despite not playing his first game til Oct, Scoring his first in Dec and having another Inury set back in March. He could easily get 25-27 with the amount of games United could play this season especially with the EL being expanded to 8 games in the first stage.
I feel like Scholesy knowledge about the current game is a bit outdated, he probably didn't watch a game of De Ligt last season and he says he didn't watch a game Zirkzee has played but he's judging him 😂.

I think this idea that LFC is going to drop massively after Klopp similiar to what Utd did after SAF is nonsense. The first main reason is because of the front office and how stable the club is. Compare that with all the things we have heard about Utds owners and how the club is ran when SAF left, it just feels like Arne is walking into a situation not just where he has great players but a great front office and staff that is very stable. Yes it’s going to be a big change like it is when a new manager comes in but already in preseason you can tell the players are adapting very well to his play style. A style that you could make a legit argument fits the players better than Klopps. They still press but they don’t “chase” like Pep Ljinders explained it. They focus a lot more on keeping possession and so they aren’t open for counter attacks as was their biggest weakness the past few years. I think you will see a much better defensively LFC, a much more ball control/possession based team that will greatly benefit players like Szobo, Macca, Gakpo, Nunez, TAA etc.
When did Arsenal celebrate after the draw vs City? Odegaard and Saliba said in the post match that it wasn't great but it's hard to win at City. No one on the pitch was celebrating.

@@thrilla72I haven’t watched enough of De Ligt to be able to say he’s definitely a game changer for our defence but to say he’s been ousted from Bayerns defence in favour of Dier is just plain incorrect. Out of the 28 games after Dier arrived De Ligt was available for 23 of them and he’s started 20. That’s not exactly losing your place now is it?
I think the issue for Arsenal last season was the week where they played Bayern twice and lost to Villa not drawing to Cit away. They had a near-perfect record in the league for the second half of the season, they need a perfect one to win it.
We had a quality first half against Villa and could have been 2-3 goals up at halftime. It's important to have quality squad players to cope with playing 3 games in a week on a consistent basis.
I think it just to harsh talking about one defeat and one draw over half a season as not good enough, when it is actually enormous. Sometimes you just have to say, hey you where great but another team was also great, but they got a couple more points than you.

Yeh if he has a 100% chance conversion rate. - Thinks Rashford could be a great striker. - Mentioning the open midfield forgetting that its directly affected by the deep defence caused by injuries.
@judtindouglas9051 The problem with Rashford is he's not good with playing with his back to goal link up play is non existent that's probably why ETH prefers him out wide. He's got the tools to play up top and it's not like he hasn't got the ability to play up top, just seems like every time the ball goes in to him with his back to goal he doesn't look comfortable.
It was a weird season for him, I don't super rate him but he's better than Rasmus is now and the kind you should have, not good enough to totally block his path to minutes but good enough to allow him to develop.
He was barely in the team last season under Tuchel, Kim took his position and they've gone signed another CB already this summer. He's seen as a back up and expendable.
He played 30 times for Bayern last season. Injured and unavailable for 17. Including the German supercup Bayern played 49 times last season, which means he wasn't in the first team twice. He most definitely was not backup. He played 42 times for Juve the season before they sold him. Most Juve fans were disappointed to see him leave and most Bayern fans don't want him to leave. It is very much a transfer in the Frankie De Jong realms because the club are trying to force him out due to his high wages and injuries. He wasn't asking to leave and it is not because of his performances on the pitch.
@Ryan-ys2bq I don't think you understand the financial landscape mate. Most people don't. They need to sell players, De Ligt is one they knew they could get money for. Plus, they're cautious about his injury record. That's something you might raise as a legitimate concern, but his ability is and never has been in doubt.
If ETH wants to keep his job then he needs to play 433 all season. At the start of last season we had no fullbacks fit and he should have played 352 imo He played 433 for the last 4 games last season and we won those games.
Clive is fantastic! His perspective on both the game and Arsenal is top-notch. He definitely deserves more airtime-I'd absolutely tune in if he had his own podcast. He's a great ambassador for Arsenal FC, and we could use more fans like him.

Jesus Abi was harsh on Arne. Got us in good stead to start this season, yes we need some business but the new Edwards/Hughes structure is there for a reason. I think that is an extremely pessimistic outlook on our football. A Dutch coach that's focused on a more controlled, sustainable playstyle is a good change for Liverpool.
She's right to be sceptical. He's unproven as a manager in the Premier League and Klopp became your messiah. Big shoes to fill. Running a big club with high expectations is a lot harder than surviving to keep your job. Look at Graham Potter. Brilliant at Brighton, useless at Chelsea.
Jamie slagging Celtic. Pre season games don’t mean much but Celtic also beat City as well and we didn’t have our full team either. We worthy of the 4-1 win over Chelsea at 2-0 we put the reserve players on and went 4-0 up

Funny how Scholes talks like money isn't a thing at all. Just go get Toney as if its that simple. Hojlund will improve and he got a decent return last season after a shaky start. Signing Toney when defensive midfield and centre back are in critical condition would be crazy
Obviously, he is just talking, but we get what he is trying to say. We will never win the league or get close with kids up front. we need an established striker, or we are going to have to wait until Rasmus or Zirkzee is ready, which looks a few years off yet.

I LOVE Klopp to the core and when he left I cried .. but (and hear me on this PLEASE) I think Slot has more ideas and is more flexible than Klopp and I have a feeling that he’ll succeed (I hope) .. Klopp had the flair and charisma he knew how to motivate his players and make everyone in world football adore him .. I feel like and I hope that Slot is gonna be the Paisley to Klopp’s Shankly
