There are a couple of differences between the Porsche rim and this Clubsport RS, the Porsche rim has non changeable quick release, no magnetic paddles and it has built-in rumble motors. The Clubsport RS does not have the rumble motors, but does have the changeable quick release and magnetic paddles. So if you are on the second hand market and wanted one of these wheels these are the things to consider.
I just wanted to thank you for this video. You made it for the exact reason I was looking for one in the first place. I’m gonna be new to the Fanatec ecosystem and as I was about to order a complete set, you convinced me to switch from the CSL P1 v2 wheel to this one instead. Coming from a Logitech wheel myself, I didn’t want to upgrade to something that feels like yet another toy in my hands. Again, thanks so much. And dude, this is the first video of yours I’ve ever seen and I love your vibe. Super chill, welcoming, friendly, and charismatic as hell. Love it.
Great video mate, you are a natural in front of the camera, you speak very well, and very informative, keep up the good work, just thought I would leave a nice comment is all, thanks Chris.
Hey mate! Thankyou so much for leaving me a comment! I’m really happy you liked the video! I appreciate your feedback and support dude it means A lot! 😄
i drove a high-end sim in Punta Gorda Fl at Function Motorsports and 1 of the rigs had this wheel. was impressed, put on my list for next purchase. It does everything and feels great. Great value rim.
Hey Mate! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that! That’s such a nice thing to say! 😄 im still learning and trying to make these videos as entertaining as I can so I really do appreciate your feedback! I’m glad you liked the video dude! Welcome to the community! 🤙🏻
I, too, like and want to drive all different styles of driving. Like you, I chose this wheel too. Thanks for the awesome review! My wheel was delivered today. Can't wait to try it out!
This video came in so clutch, thank you for making it. Just put in an order for mine after your review! Was so torn between this wheel and the BMW GT2 V2, but the leather grip and the round shape sold it for me. This'll be my 2nd wheel to go with my McLaren GT3 V2!
Hey dude! I’m so glad this video helped you out!! I was the exact same before I bought this one haha. I was gonna grab the BMW GT2 before I bought this wheel and I have to say I am super happy with my decision 😅 the club sport Rs rim has been perfect! Your gonna love it 😄
@@iceyy0998 I still use my McLaren wheel more but that’s out of preference as I play mostly F1 2021 and ACC. The clubsport wheel does feel very solid though and I’m extremely happy with it. One thing I noticed is, I am playing with a CSL DD 8nm the FFB is a little more diluted compared to the McLaren wheel, it’s very minor and not at all a bother to me, just something to keep in mind!
You sir are a dead set legend, exactly what I wanted to see. Was weighing up from this and clubsport hub but this much less headache. Recently bolted on the turn half cut wheel onto the big dollar hub/Button box and now sorta need a neat round wheel for some drifting and AC... Perfect vid mate 👊
Thanks mate ! , been looking and waiting for EXACTLY this review , awesome job, still torn between this and mclaren v2 but fantastic to get your thoughts ! , thanks and subscribed .
I was too but this wheel just made me pull the trigger on the RS as my first wheel. I do race mainly gt and might grab the gt3 down the track but for now this one does everything
I wonder how it compares to the BMW wheel (the cheapest one) that came with my CSL DD. I love driving rally but the BMW is a bit lacking in the fbb I think.
Hey thanks for the info! Is the weight of the weel not an issue on a csl dd 8nm? I notice that other wheels with hub are aound 1000g and this one is 1600g? Would that make a big difference?
@@KyleSpoor Ordered this wheel and a Podium DD2 last week and it arrived today. It feels very premium compared to my old T300RS. I'll buy a cockpit in a few months so it will be a painful wait until I can use the new toys. 😅
Thanks for the video!! Do you know if this wheel is compatible with the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel base? Also, when adding this wheel to the shopping cart it asks if I want the QR1 or QR2 release at additional cost. Is it worth paying more?
@SouthStreetMedia first off thanks for doing this review. I was recently look forward new rim to do more dirt oval racing on Iracing. I currently have a smaller gt wheel 11in and a f1 wheel. Obviously I'm looking for a larger wheel rim to help with counter steering with sprints and late models. Would you recommend this wheel for its size? It's hard to tell the size difference between this rim and a gt rim. Thanks!
Hey Mate! Thank you for the kind words dude! I use this rim for a lot of Rally and Drifting, it seems to be a perfect size for me when I'm doing those styles! I also use it when I'm doing any Oval Racing or Dirt Oval on Iracing and it never misses a beat! I'm quite a large person and my hands are probably bigger than most, but the size definitely fits me well! I hope this helped and Welcome to the community! 😀
Hey Kyle. Couple of questions on the RS wheel. Given this is the only wheel I'll have for a while, is it possible to do GT3 or F1 races at all? And does the FFB still feel sufficient (8nm GT DD pro) despite the larger diameter and weight?
Hey dude, Welcome to the community! I’m so glad you liked the video 😄 Im happy this helped you haha, I had heaps of trouble trying to decide as well so I’m glad this helped out!!
I was considering buying either Moza R5 or CSL DD (5nm) and decided to go with the Fanatec because of the much larger variety of steering wheels. Then i was to choose either the R330, 320 or the RS. I personally liked the RS design over the others, but wasn't sure if the led's was going to ruin it, but then i came across this great review - Thanks for that ! - and ended up ordering the RS. Right now i have a thrustmaster TX, with the Sparco rally rim and a TM leather rim with an Acelith McLaren gt3 plate for F1 and GT3 racing. The plan is to sell those and get the Fanatec McLaren Gt3 V2 instead to have it all covered. I'm really looking forward to see how direct drive feels compared to belt driven. I will keep the sparco handbrake (awesome quality), th8a shifter (leather knob, ricmotech seq internals and a sparco knob for seq shift) and the t3pa pedals (modded with a loadcell, momo pedals and a metal bottomplate) since these are working really well. Maybe in the future the pedals will be replaced. Thanks for the great review. It really helped me out choosing the right wheel.
And now i got i all set up and running. Compared to my tx with the sparco wheel it is not mindblowingly better, but it is more solid and firm and it's an upgrade for sure. I'll say i got rid of the toy'ish feel and the gloves and the led's are great for GT3 racing. So i'm a happy man now and the next buy will be the button caps to get the full experience.
Hey dude! Sorry for the late reply! I don’t actually have any button caps on this wheel! I use it exactly how you see it in the video. They are really easy to map on pc, what are you using it with 😄
I'm not really interested in the wheel as I already have a like all rounder thing with my csl elite but still very interesting and entertaining video. You deserve more subs bro!
Very nice video mate! I am currently thinking about either this or the bmw gt2 wheel, I am mostly gonna use it for rally and drifting as I already have a McLaren gt3 wheel.
Hey mate!! So sorry for the late reply 😅 thank you so much, I really appreciate that! I was the same! I was either gonna get this one or the BMW I decided this one. But the BMW wheel is also a great option!
@@KyleSpoor I just ordered the cheaper wrc rim and the clubsport handbrake from Fanatec. It's gonna make rally and drifting so much better! Currently I just use the McLaren rim and the left dual-clutch paddle as a handbrake.
@@haraldjohansen1867 how is the Handbrake and WRC wheel doing for you? i have a Fanatec GT DD PRO and i'm thinking in getting another wheel + handbrake
@@RacingTherapy They are both pretty good and does the job perfectly fine. I just switched from the wrc wheel to a clubsport hub with a r300 wheel, but the wrc wheel worked well the time I had it. It's a perfect size for me and pretty comfortable. Has a good amount of buttons for when I need it too. It's also very light, so you'll feel the ffb pretty good on it. The clubsport handbrake is great for it's value. It's pretty solid, but has a plastic part inside that unfortunately is known to break over time. Mine has gotten a bit of play in the handle, it's not much but it's there. Overall, both are good for the price.
Hey mate, yeah absolutely! This week would be perfect for most things! Then down the track if you wanted and F1 wheel you could get one but this would definitely do the job!
Thanks for the review, I’ve been trying to decide between this wheel and the bmw gt2. The only hold up was the rpm gauge, but if it’s not as much of a problem as some people say I might go with the Rs wheel.
Hey mate! I was honestly in the exact same position before I bought the RS wheel! Since using this though I can tell you that the RPM led’s don’t bother me one bit! 😄
Just started looking at Fanatec today after seeing the deals they have on bundles. I'm guessing the only difference between the 300 and 320 is the outside diameter of the wheel correct? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but so often there's more than meets the eye
@@KyleSpoor Ended up buying this and totally in love with it! For the folks looking to use this with GT7 on PS5 - it works and is a wonderful upgrade over the rubbery toy that Fanatec bundles with the GT DD Pro. Kyle - HUGE thanks for making this video - it made my decision easier! Cheers mate!
IM SO HAPPY TO HEAR!!! Im glad you like it 😄 thank you so much for taking the time to come back and let me know! I really appreciate your kind words but I’m more happy with the fact that your enjoying the wheel!!! Enjoying the driving my bro!! 😄
New to all this just got the Fanatec DD Pro thought rather than buying that WRC rally Wheel Rim use my spare thrustmaster one as needing a round wheel for me Drifting an off roading. Yh didn't know what fitting scew holes should measure from ??
I’m not to sure what the measurements would be. But fanatec follow the standard mounting holes for everyday wheels. So also good as the thrust master rim follows the regular 6 hole pattern you should be fine
@@KyleSpoor not blowing smoke up ya shooter but you have somehow worked a great balance with your b rolls to the point I enjoy them as a feature of your reviews. Keep up the awesome work.
